Have a 2017 that appears to be leaking as well. I saw some staining from water on the headliner. I have removed the 4 8mm nuts, however there seems to be a clip or something still holding the light assembly in place. Did you notice this or was it just all the adhesive that you mentioned?
Yes there appears to be some, I think I used a flathead screwdriver to break the old ones off. When putting the new one in it should lock in place fairly easily.
Did using the silicon helped with the water leak? Or did you have to buy actual seal? I’m have the same issue right now and wasn’t sure which one I should use silicon or seal.
@@justinanddarleneagualo so I made a comment about that in the description. My uncle who works for Ford said there is no need to add any kind of silicone seal. All you need to do is install the new light and hand tighten the nuts. I did not use silicone and haven't had any leaks in heavy rainstorms or car wsshes.
Thanks so much. I have the exact same leak, and it helps to see what you're dealing with.
2018 Fusion.
No problem, it was nice that the headliner didn't need to be completely removed for this job.
Hey your video helped I'm doing this job in a couple of days wasn't sure if I had to pull the whole roof liner down good to know thanks
No problem! Luckily Ford put those two grommets on the end so you have just enough room to pull the liner down to do this job.

Did you have any water inside the trunk by the spare tire?
None that I could find, I've only ever been in there a few times
