    I have a 2014 Taco and I add 3/4" steel barring on the rears only and it's Perfect!!
    I'm 5' 11" and it raised my back end and now I can see into other vehicles and better view.

      Something similar here, felt like I was sitting in a hole. Much better, but now I hit my head climbing in and out sometimes. I'm 5'10"

      I AM A SHOOTER, SO I NEED IT TIME TO TIME…. I WANNA MAKE A COMMENT AS YOU LOOK AS YOUNG AS I DO, AND FIT AS A FIDDLE… I HAVE PERIPHERAL ARTERY DISEASE IN MY LEGS… FOR MY SEAT I LIKE TO KEEP THE SEAT FROM TOUCHING THE BACK PART OF MY LEGS RIGHT BEHIND THE KNEE…THE ELEVATED FRONT OF THE SEAT CAN PUT ENOUGH PRESSURE ON MY LEGS AND CAUSE ME TO CLOT…. IM NOT SAYING you WILL HAVE THIS PROBLEM , BUT JUST BE AWARE…. GOOD LUCK

    I recommend adding two washers to the rear 14mm to prevent any bending of the brackets on the rear

    • @canucktaco
      @canucktaco  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There's no issue with bending the seat rails, that tiny rise in the front creates an almost imperceptible angle at the rear.

    I've been thinking about these for a while. I'm 6'2" and now I'm really leaning towards getting a pair for the drivers side, also adding that molle panel for the stackers and adding a gun holster to it. Hope you keep growing! SUB"D

    I tried them but found I couldn’t stand how close they made my knees to the steering wheel, and I felt like I had to have my seat back tilted forward further than I liked. I found it much more comfortable to just add about 1/4” to the height to the rear of the seat instead. Worked out great for the passenger seat, though.

    • @canucktaco
      @canucktaco  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Odd seeing it's only a 1.250" tilt...maybe if you didn't have power seats or something, but I've never actually heard anyone say anything negative. For me lifting thr back sounds horrid 🤣

    • @corneliuscrewe677
      @corneliuscrewe677 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@canucktaco No, I don’t have power seats, and I think that is the problem with the seat jackers for me. I didn’t think raising the back would be good either, but it seems to be just the ticket for me. Go figure.

    Just installed mine. It is correct that if you are over 6'1 or so it may not work for you. I am 5'11 and I am glad I did it. It's tighter getting in/out, but worth it. I kept sliding forward and had to readjust multiple times.

  • @allenallen5005

    If you have power seats why would you need that? Can't you make that adjustment with the seat without adding the riser?

    • @canucktaco
      @canucktaco  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That's a fair question and I thought about that before buying them. I messed with my drivers seat and got it to what I found reasonably comfortable. then bought a 2 sets of jackers seeing as theyre pretty inexpensive. It's a quick easy install for these so I tried seeing what it would do for the driver seat for fun and to my surprise it was considerably better than just the power seat. Seems to change the geometry and makes them less like a go cart seat lol

    Are these legal? Do they void crash test data?

    • @canucktaco
      @canucktaco  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      That's an excellent question and I should have addressed it in the video. In actual fact every single mod to a vehicle is illegal according to the Traffic Safety Act. Enforcement is discretionary. As far as safety I was chatting with the service manager and we had a look at them together. My particular kit uses the same grade bolt as factory and doesn't tilt the seat in a way that impedes the deployment of the seat air bag. The verdict was neither safety or warranty are effected.

      @@canucktaco Good answer! Thanks. I did two Tacoma’s Ive owned. The stock seat position was very uncomfortable even on shorter trips. I have an engineering background and felt the seat belt is what holds you down and they are attached to the structure not the seat so I felt ok with the mod. I went on a 2000 mile trip with no discomfort.

    • @vipercrazy9910
      @vipercrazy9910 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      If you consider the standard crash test dummy and the impact data with the factory seat, then run another crash test with either these or rear spacers, you would assume the second would be slight worse, your legs are closer to the dash in front or your body is higher in the seat closer to the window sill line that is less protected. I'm assuming the engineers chose this height for crash tests, at 6ft3 I run the steering wheel at the lowest position which would indicate originally the seat height may have been further up during pre production.

      Absolutely wrong

      @@canucktaco Can you explain your comment on this. I'm just interested in why. I have both front and back installed and it's working for me. When I did only the front the seat slope rearward was terrible IMO. I think you really need to do both and you wind up with a taller seat with the original slop rearward no? I'm very disappointed in these seats. I had several gen 2 tacomas and got along fine with the seat position. I will say doing the front and back have helped my overall comfort.

    • @canucktaco
      @canucktaco  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @john d hi sure, the seat jacker wasn't designed to raise the seat closer to the roof, it was designed to create a specific angle to the entire seat platform. Even the power seat in my TRD doesn't replicate what the seat jacker does. Now it's not wrong to do what you did, everyone has to do things right for them. However the first statement "defeats the purpose" is 100% wrong. The seat jacker performs "its" purpose perfectly as it was engineered to do...his remark was just nonsense. I know so very many people with this mod that love it, but if you're over 6'2" or under 5'6 my understanding is this mod can be problematic. For me at 6' it's awesome. I do agree these Tacoma seats aren't the greatest but ive definitely had worse lol. Thanks so much for watching and your comment was awesome!
