Canuck Taco
Canada
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 28 ก.ค. 2022
Welcome to the channel. I got my first Tacoma a 2022 TRD Sport 4x4 double cab.
I have no idea where I want to end up with this truck to be honest so I'm just going to start doing mods and upgrades on the truck to improve upon its factory stuff and work towards some sort of end result. I know that sounds a bit bizarre but I Just don't know yet. Please join me on this mission of madness and maybe I'll be able to help you with some decisions on yours about certain mod choices and if you don't have a TACO then just come for the ride and see where it goes!

Tacoma Fires Can Happen
Fortunately my Tacoma hasn't had a fire but I experienced a crazy engine fire with my turbo diesel truck!

Tacoma Screen Protector from Screenprotech, is it worth it?

Tacoma LED Tail light mod from VLEDS

More superior products from VLEDS on my 2022 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport. This unique tail light mod is nothing short of impressive and far superior to other aftermarket full replacements that can have poor quality overseas chips and housings that leak! I'm not affiliated but I'd stand on a soap box all day long to attest to the superior products from this AMERICAN company! www.vleds.com/featured-v...
Tacoma Gen 3 TRD Pro Grille Install

Super quick vid to show the factory grille swap on my 2022 Tacoma TRD Sport to the TRD Pro. Great product from Runnin for Tacos
Great tip 🤙
I think the t is slanted down on the right side a little bit
Looking at these. Good info vid.
I don't know where you guys bought yours at but I bought the same one on the screen I couldn't stress the far enough to get it over both ends how to cut the ends off of the razor blade to get it to even fit the shifter worked great
I put the VLEDS Extreme V6’s in a 2006 Mustang GT in July 2022 and I was so impressed by them. The packaging and build quality reminded me of an Apple product. The contrast in the light brightness when you brake or turn signal is more than stock incandescents and was much more than previous LEDs I had used. Most people with these cars replace the taillight assembly and as you said it’s probably cheaper to do that (for me I needed 6 taillights so 3 pairs, not cheap). However, I liked the stock look and I wanted high quality as my car is super clean. I only drive it on nice Saturdays in summer and I drive about 2500 kms per year so I hope the lights will last for many years to come. So far I have no complaints. I’d say I’m the only person on the planet using these lights in my year of car as at the time they had no prior experience with using them in a Mustang like mine.
At 5'9 I wasn't a fan of my seat jackers.
I know this is a late reply, but I bought the VLED kit with the bright bulbs because of your post. I love them. Just what I was looking for. Better them any full light replacement I've seen out there. Thank You.
How are the seat jackets holding up?
Did you end up having to add washers to rear seeing a lot of posts about that
A tint guy would know you should wet the outside so the squeegee slides across if easier.
Looking for updates on hood struts , how they holding up ? Any problems?
All pays to patronize the local businesses, especially those whom who know personally, no need lift bigger tires is nuff
I use mine for work lol...
What floor mats did you put in? I love the honeycomb grip! Thanks for the video. Ordered mine Black Friday.
Nice video, how are they holding up?
I really enjoy your videos. Keep them coming.
Like it brother. Maybe a 2"-1" TRD lift.
Thanks for the help Brad! Miss your videos. 😢
Just ordered the kit
Where have you been?? I noticed you are not on IG anymore? 😢
Well with the lack of availability of 3rd gen TRD Sport Tacomas a viewer of this channel got in contact with my local dealer brokered a deal through them to pay me considerably more for my Taco than I paid for it including all the mods! How do you say no to that! So, my intention was to order and start modding a Gen 4...As it turns out Toyota seems to have had a major setback getting these trucks out so...brace yourself...I bought a 2010 Honda Ridgeline RTL 😬 to drive until I can get anothet Taco.
That’s hilarious. I’ve definitely missed your content on both channels but I’ve been considering doing the same thing. I’m just not in a position to pay too much more for a 2024 and nobody has been knocking on my door to buy mine for more than I paid! 🤣 Well hopefully we’ll see you back soon!
Can you go over price for this sir ? We have a Capit here On Vancouver island too!
I did these too !!
Us Canadians get screwed on shipping & products.. Good video, I'm planning on doing this for my 2023 truck too!
Look for the LED light stripes
do they have these in green? 🤔
I'm fine with the hood prop. Since I've had my 2018 Tacoma, I've had the hood open only about 2 to 3 times a year.
whre can i get the stl files
This maker has them for sale at Cults3d
Nice job except now you have the cylinders in the way on each side where you said a piece of paper went and the hood was too low with the prop rod supporting the hood. Maybe Toyota didn’t want to reinvent the wheel. In the future like all cylinders they will lose pressure and need replacing at approx $50.
Looks great brother!!!
I used VLED kit different than yours, its amazingly bright and i also used their resistors. Have you seen their LED backup light that goes on your license plate. Also want to add their packaging is the best I have ever seen
Hi Thanks for watching and yes I have seen them, however the problem with upgrading the license plate lights is 2 fold for me...1 is simply why bother, and 2 they cause brutal glare for your backup camera unless you put shields in them...so there again, why bother.
@@canucktaco Not true it actually helped take the glare away. I just installed the LP-X on my 22 taco and some how the brightness fades away the plate lights. With these lights you have a 4th brake light.
I am sure someone will design a V-twin version for tall cans that is easily carried on a motorcycle.
Don't lift it
love your channel. enjoy seeing little mods like this and installation videos included so I know how big of a hassle something is before I decide on it.
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoy the content!
Found it on internet, but not the extra clip. Great video guy. Thanks.
Nice wheels, I use my 22 OR with the stock suspension and factory Goodyear tires on backcountry roads, logging roads etc,I does great without a lift
Thanks! I chose not to lift either.
You got to sand some of that paint under the ground with some dielectric grease, or at least the grease on the ground bolt. Your ground contact from factory is just the threads. New England salt will cause problems. Bad ground...half of all electric problems
I prefer copper coat
Every Explorer I ever owned had those nitrogen struts last 3 months longer than the 3/36, crapa replacements lasted about 3 months longer than the 12 month warranty, and I installed a stick😂😂
Bring back the goddamned clock springs!!!
Wouldn't that be nice!
You never showed the back up lights
I didn't think it was necessary, all VLED products are amazingly bright. I'll see if I can sneak it into another video
Perhaps I am lucky, i can drive 6 or 7 hours with no problems. I find the power seat gives me perfect adjustment, i am 5 8, but heck i might give them a try. 17 hr road trip coming up
I'm 6' and I love them however I have heard they don't do a lot of good if you're under about 5'10". I don't know if that's true or not.
I’ve been thinking that’s the problem with the seats. I did that with my jeep. Home made
I like the look and perfect fit of these and they're pretty cheap. Plus they are mount functional as you can see in my Tacoma Fires Happen vid. Thanks for watching!
After 9 months do you still recommend this mod?
I would give that a hard yes!
Also, if anyone is still on the fence… I installed this mod last week and I highly recommend it. Changes the whole driving experience.
My 2017 doesn't have cut outs for the bed lights. It was added on later models
Looks nice. Maybe a 2 level kit for front.
Thanks for watching! The 22 Gen 3 is already level from factory.
Looks really Good…👍
Thank you!
This is the way to go!! I don’t like the idea of replacing the housing. I think some or all aftermarket housing will deteriorate in a year or 2. This is truly an upgrade!!
Thanks for watching, this was a great upgrade, and like you say the aftermarket stuff just doesn't last!
Would have been nice to see how the passenger side piece of plastic came off.
Thanks for the comment, it just pops off that plastic clip, so I didn't think it was needing an explanation. Fair point though if you are a novice on the tools. I'll keep that in mind on my upcoming Cat Shield install.
@@canucktaco Thank you. Watching TH-cam videos are how we all learn. Personally I’m hesitant to “just pop” things off of a $50k vehicle unless I know how. 😀
Fair enough ✌️
Perfect how to. Thanks bruv!
Thanks for watching!✌️
Looks awesome!
Thank you!
Did you have any issues with the sensor?
Hi John, none whatsoever. Just make sure you order the separate sensor garnish to mount it.
Hmm you get free lipstick with those there new wheels? 🤩
🙄
