  • Do you fit in the Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road? I'm 6 foot tall and have some relatively serious issues with the Taco seating position. Don't get me wrong, I really do enjoy this little truck but it has required quite a few modifications to work well for me. Some experience this uncomfortable seating issue while others do not. It seems that the consensus is that if you are over 5 foot 8 inches tall, you might experience knee pain and very uncomfortable seating. This is mainly due to the fact that the seat is too short from front to back and it does not angle upward to give knee support. The seat jackers do help to some extent however, now it is very difficult to squeeze past the steering wheel. Again, if you 5'8" or under, you probably won't have any issues with the Tacoma seat.

    Seat jackets definitely helped my hip on longer trips. Those things really work. I moved my seat back because I was hitting my knee when I got into the truck. I’m 6’1”. But like you mentioned, in that position, my arms are extended out a little far. Guess it will be a compromise in the middle somewhere. Good content. Thanks for the videos.

    Seat jackers certainly improved my comfort. Not sure what short person designed the seating position in the tacos, someone short and doesn’t drive???

    So jealous of your filming locations. Are you able to film an entire episode without passerbys? I found a honeyhole for filming so I thought then saw a parked vehicle for a hiker. Also might want to get some mudflaps on there with all the debris getting kicked up to the body and behind the rear bumper. Will save your paint from rock chips and prevent corrosion to the rear bumper area.

    • @goldsteadingoverland
      @goldsteadingoverland  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mud flaps are on the list. I sure do love it up here! I make a point to find neat spots and film away from people, it's much more comfortable that way. This day was a bit interesting though. I thought I was far enough away from people but during the shoot. A tesla from California somehow made it down there. 3 youngsters got out dressed suburban gangster like and proceeded to film a shoot for a "rap video" pretty weird. 2 other cars came by and 1 3rd gen taco, a dude and his girl for lakeside chillin.

    I'm about to buy my first truck. And I've tested this taco from my buddy for the first time on a 2.5 hour drive. Gotta say. I'm 5'10 and my legs didn't feel good. Felt like I had to turn side ways to support one leg at a time to not get that toilet numbness. Legs felt extended to reach peddles. But arms also didn't feel right. Like to close to my body. Truck didn't hug corners more like rocking but over all its a nice truck. Still debating.

    Hell I am 5'8" and I think the Taco's seat suck. When I first saw these I was a little skeptical, but these things work.
