I guess it works, but why not just replace the barrel with a better one that will shoot?

You are probably correct my friend, but why would you be removing it a lot? The whole idea of tightening the fit up is to hopefully lessen "barrel droop", and possibly improve accuracy thru better barrel harmonics.

You can so this, but I think it will eat the aluminum receiver if you remove the barrel a lot.

Sir if u really want to help plz explain why my marlin Glenfield 22 barrel which is slightly more then half inch less then three quarters and it's knureld but receiver is cracked I need tubing from home depot I'm gonna make my own re never and I'm a welder not a gunsmith I was thinking shaft collars to fit the barrel fish then fill in extra space with weld then cut out bolt space with dremel or cutting wheel my son. Is 12 in boy scout and loved shoot the 22 when they went to a range now I wanna surprise him with his very own of course I'll have keys to trigger lock unless I have to break this whole thing down ( rifle ) I'm sure 10/22 and marlin r about same diameter which is 5/8 Give or take a 1000th or 2 but bolt is almost same diameter which I expect for the matching when fired I just can't get it to work meaning some part I need I can't get here in new jersey u know how tough by is on gun rights and mag well for 7 shot mag will need to b replace I'm screwed but I've builder things far more harder and a few tons of railing system for a local prison with bars frame the whole 9 yrs and this seems so simple that it's feels impossible your problem seemed. Lose to mine as far as firing and there should b a 1/8 indent on your barrel near the extractor holes underneath and a 1/8 hole on receiver the slides through it to other side as a barrel pin does yours have the same? It would b nice to get advice except buy a new one thank you kindly for reading this epitath!
