Epoxy a small disc (about 3/4") of 800 grit sandpaper in between the two parts. That'll prevent it from losing your angle when the screw tightens up.

If your butt pad is upside down on the jig then the grind will be backwards when you install it on the stock

The way it is shown is the proper way to mount the pad on the jig. By setting it up this way, and using this tool, or a regular square, you get the proper angle when the pad is mounted to the actual stock.
