Do you know if the velotric Gen 1 batteries work with this version? I know you said it's like 703 who battery which is larger than Gen 1 battery. Also, when you put it in turbo does it lessen the resistance noticeably? I want a bike to work out on (my level is almost too much work) but I also want it to be able to do a lot of the work like my cadence discover can do. 😊
I'm happy with my ebike of another brand. There are many bikes out there to choose from. I like to follow this company because they produce bikes like this one, which really fits with my idea of a bike with great features.

@@mikec4308 this. also, they've had electic auto shifters for regular bicycles for years now. i'm not totally familiar with how they work cus i never had any interest in them, but i'm sure it can be incorporated into an Ebike rig. the one thing i think would be bad, would be if it self moved the pedals/chain so it can shift to the next sprocket, would be very awkward if all the sudden ur bike starts peddling itself when u weren't expecting it. but like i said, im not sure how they work, so idk if that's how it would act irl or not.
I love your reviews. This is a really nice bike with lots of nice features at a great price. It's great that many of the new series bikes offer more standard features ( integrated rear lights, fenders, signal lights, etc.) AND more customizable either through onscreen menu's or apps. Thanks !
I watch almost all your videos and like them. Keep up the good work. One improvement I would like to see is, state the price during the unboxing. You know it’s a number one thing people want to hear.
It checks all my boxes for what I want in a bike! All the big companies have listened to reviews and customers. They're going UL listed, 750 watt hubs on lighter frames and a bit more battery power. Even with Velotics horrific customer service and the company plagued with quality control and poor management.....I'm still considering this bike. I like it.

I've been looking for an ebike for a while and while this is a bit out of my budget the price is incredible for what you get and ofcourse a +1 for velotric
Another great freaking review. Well done Sir! Velotric has now come out with the perfect Ebike! I have been waiting for this. This new Discover 2 fills in all the gaps left behind by the Discover 1 and all other brand name Ebikes in this category. It has all the features I have been looking for in a single package. The red is fantastic and I will be ordering one of these for my wife using your link. I may also be ordering one of the HeyBike Heros for myself from your other recent reviews. Keep up the great work!
Watched countless reviews on ebikes while trying to decide which one to buy. Bought this one from your link because I found your tests to be not only the most informative, but also the most enjoyable! Thanks so much for such awesome content. Suuuuper excited to get my bike!
This seems like a great bike. If I didn't just buy the Eahora Juliet for around the same price, I would have gotten this instead. I love my Juliet, it gets insane range, which was the primary reason that I bought it, but I can't lie, I do miss having a slim tire e-bike with a light weight to it. Even at the same speed, they just feel more nimble than large frame fat tire e-bikes. My old e-bike was a slim tire slim frame bike, and I never felt nervous passing people who were going slower than me. On my Juliet though, I opt to go slower and let people stay ahead of me simply because the bulk of the bike actually feels a bit more dangerous. You very much have to ride very straight and narrow on a bulky bike. I don't regret it, as the range was my priority, but I understand the appeal of slimer e-bikes that get less range.
I love how the market is now flooded with Ebikes, and yet all of them miss the mark on price. As if compensating for how cheap it is to make, by providing how expensive they are constantly will help the numbers of everyone.
I love that speed, the fact that the company undersells the speed is so refreshing... I am a little worried about the range for commuting but I think it will do.

Hello, just watched your video, the bike looks like it is of very good quality but...... you scared the daylights out of me seeing you in this crazy traffic in the car lane! You have a lot more guts than me. Great video, thank-you for posting this bike is probably the one I will get!
Just ordered with your link and code. Previously had an Aventon Level 2, nice bike but could be a little more comfortable and I wanted a step thru. Love your reviews, they really helped with finding a new bike!
I like how I went to watch a video on the Aventon Level 2 and immediately an ad for this Velotric Discover 2 popped up ... a direct competitor ! If the quality control and customer service are not an issue (which it may be) this Discover 2 beats the Level 2 hands down. Stronger motor at 750 vs 500, bigger frame for taller riders, weight limit 440 vs 300 lbs, 80mm hydraulic damped front suspension vs. 65mm coil spring, color screen vs what I think is still a black&white LCD (they sort of hide it on their website so I assume they don't want you to see it), handlebar height is adjustable on the Discover 2 vs not so on the Level 2, brake rotors 180mm vs 160mm ( I think, again they don't want you to know so they don't tell you), turn signals vs not ... plus other features like the Apple find my device thingy, 4 colors vs 2 etc.
Level 2 has a nice color display, but you hit a lot of other good points. Had a Level 2, it was ok, but a few too many compromises. The handlebar is odd, the lower model Pace has the nicer adjustable handlebar. You can swap the bike stem, but then lose the headlight mount and have to find a solution for that. Level 2 seemed like it was well built but looking forward to the Discover 2 I just ordered!
I just got the go one since my first e-bike Fuji e traverse is in the shop and been in the shop for 3 weeks now At first I missed it until this bike came out.. I see my Fuji traverse isn’t that special at all…lol I put 20x2.35 tires and tubes on the go one and it rides sooo much better and is actually predictable and faster too
I'd love to see some of these features show up as an upgrade to the T1 ST; namely, the richly featured rear tail light, the adjustable stem, the controller and screen with all these options,. If all that added 3 bs the T1 would still be a nice manageable 39 lbs A bit more battery would be nice but not essential. Please tell us that Velotric has that in the works for the T1 ST!
Wish Ebike manufacturers would add a frame mounted Auxilary (2nd) battery connection socket to allow adding a separate rear rack mounted battery for cruising/PAS 5 max power range. Control it through the display with manual selected 'Main' and 'Aux' icon. Running them separate eliminates electrical compatibility issues and is a quick change over. There are quality affordable aftermarket large capacity batteries in a rear rack format that would work great or strap on even cheaper frame mount ones. You could run the Aux most of the time and save on recharge cycles on that OEM battery. You never know how long the manufacturer will support replacement batteries and at what high cost. This I see as the next great evolution in ebikes, especially for commuter/delivery ebikes. I don't see the option on the Velotic Discover 2 webpage to buy a 2nd battery even now.
I discover your vid, when looking at Fucare bike. I'm really impress with ipx and its really useful for my country and I wish I can get them in Malaysia
That adjustable handlebar is thanks to me, when I bought the discover 1 I really beat them up for non disclosure it wasn't adjustable and made them send me the adjustment they recommended, if you look at my comments you'll see I made that point on your channel For those who only want power rarely, (like me) this is an excellent bike when not using power, (I assume this is at least as good as my D! You see how some E bikes have a big battery that is partially set down into the frame down tube... Thats what they should have an option for..20 ah option that sticks up a couple inches with a couple extra rows of cell's.. i dont think 3 lbs would kill the performance un any way.
You mentioned that boost spacing on front fork might allow slightly wider tires. Will the fenders allow for that also? Do you think I could go from these Kenda 27.5 x 2.4's to Shwalbe Johnny Watts 27.5 x 2.8?
@@martinpalm5 I don’t know your state e-bike laws, but in most states, they allow class 3 e-bike which can go up to 28mph, if you want to ride at 20 mph, you can still do so. I would like to know how this compares to the Electric Bike Company Model E. It seems like the Discover 2 can get all the necessary add on's as the Model E but for less cost.... I think. Would really like to see a comparison.
Yes, I do, currently taking it to stage two with a tune in a few bolt ons. I have thought about trading it many times but it’s just such a phenomenal sports car and probably about the smallest sports car I can comfortably fit in 😆

I can see a potential major hassle with a warranty claim pertaining to a battery water damage issue.
Serious question, ready to buy but on the fence about size of frame. I’m 5’9 but short legs, 28 inseam. Seems like I’m in between sizes soo oi leaning towards small frame which should be a couple of pounds lighter . Who am I overlooking?
I have been waiting for this bike! I have a nomad, discover, and aventon level 2...abd I can confidently say I much prefer velotric. Do you know if the velotric batteries from Gen 1 are compatible?
Which would you recommend more, the Discover 2 or the Nomad 1? I don't plan on doing anything crazy off-road, but the fat tires of the Nomad 1 sound like they would nice for ride comfort(I live in a rural area). But all the upgrades the Discover 2 has makes it seem like the better overall choice. What do you think?
Just, 2 weeks ago, I bought my #1 granddaughter a Aventon Level 2, I'm getting envy going here on the Velotric 2, the Level 2''s display isn't as nice as the V's and the throttle is limited to 20mph...official BUMMER, not as many power options but.....honestly not sure that's a deal breaker. IF i get a e-bike for myself and my #2 granddaughter I'm seriously going to consider the Velortic, but then what to do with my Specialized bikes...hummmm....decisions.
My area has a lot inclines at tunnels and bridges. 20 - 30 ft elevation changes with ramps approx. 150 ft. long. Problem is, the ramp entrances have sharp turns, so I can't build up much speed on approach. And, I'd need to maintain 20 - 25 mph to keep up with traffic. Does it seem that maybe the Discover 2 could handle it with me adding crank??? I've seen cadence sensor bikes zipping up those ramps. Just curious thow a torque sensor setup would perform, as I understand that it requires more effort from the rider.
Ok you mentioned to me yesterday this Discover 2 over the HOVAlpha. Can you PLEASE tell me why? What is the main reason? I am 5'9" 190lbs. And will mainly drive road and light dirt trails and a little up hill but nothing crazy. Thanks!
Have you ridden the mokwheel asphalt or aventon pace 500.3? Wondering how this one compares? I didn’t like the torque on the pace but I did like the mokwheel one and wondering if the torque on this bike is more like the mokwheel or aventon?
What do you think about this one in comparison with the Aventon Level 2? They seem to be spec'd pretty similarly and they are definitely priced in line with each other.
I had a Level 2 and now ordered the Discover 2. The Level 2 was well built and torque sensor was smooth. However, I didn't find it very comfortable. I guess I'm getting old, needed a more upright position and wished I had gotten a step thru. I swapped the bike stem for the Pace's adjustable one, which helped some. Spec wise the Discover has a bigger motor and the adjustable handlebars. My sister now has the Level 2 and loves it.
@tailhappytv what e-bike can you recommend that can stay at 25mph and go 50miles before bars go down. since need e-bike that can go 50miles at 25 before batter dies out. since i live in FL and have 18 mile each way to college to shoot sports at also have to have rack in back for basket to bring food and water small cooler chest. also will have backpack with camera gear too.
After much much research I found Velotric to be a bike company with lot's of sad customers. Even on the Velotric social groups I'm seeing people complaining about the Discover 2 failures. Mainly the controller. Even still, I wanted to see it myself because I love the look,750 watt hub motor, choice of red and price.. When I got to the Bike dealer, they said the Discover 2 can't be on the floor because of issues!!! I asked "controller issues"....they nodded yes. That confirms the complaints and now it's something I experienced in a way. Unfortunately I will pass on this. I'm probs going to settle on a 500 watt hub, a color I don't like and lower waterproof rating for a dependable trustworthy company/bike. Disappointed
I’d love to hear more about which brands are worthy. I’d thought Velotric was a good one. Edit: a quick google reveals many sources where customers are howling. Too bad, but glad I learned this one the easy way.
I have only come across a few complaints during my internet searches. What site has a lot of bad reviews? BTW, the ebike shop in my area said they don't have any on the floor because it is a newly released model. They received only a few bikes, which sold quickly; no returns or complaints. They are expecting the next shipment in a few weeks.
Oh great, yet another company that is bad. Aniioke, WALLKE, and now Velotric. What, am I just supposed to not be able to buy any e-bike under $2000 anymore?

So what is your favorite folding e-bike? I'm looking at the engwe engine pro but would really appreciate your opinion. Thanks keep up the great work!
HovBeta
A simple back suspension would make this so worth it & throttle on the left?
I have a question for you I have also seen you do a review for the mockwheel bicycle which one is better the Velotric discovery 2 or the mockwheel
Great review. The nomad is better. Your dog was getting ready to pinch a loaf.
So did they test it in a washing machine with or without an agitator?
The issue with this fast bikes is there illegal in many States. Instead of focusing on speed, focus on range.
What is the film called that can be put on the display to help see it better while wearing polarized sun glasses on?
Any relation to IGo brand? A lot a familiarity
is there a bike like this but mid drive?
Hello can you tell me the app on your phone for tracking time...miles...etc...thank you
75nm of torque for A big guy is pretty bad. Bike seems cool otherwise. Anything less than 110nm of torque is underwhelming for big guys IMO.
@tailhappytv what e-bike can you recommend that can stay at 25mph and go 50miles before bars go down. since need e-bike that can go 50miles at 25 before batter dies out. since i live in FL and have 18 mile each way to college to shoot sports at also have to have rack in back for basket to bring food and water small cooler chest. also will have backpack with camera gear too.
you need a 60ah battery for that. Anything less wont be able to achieve 50miles at max speed
usb c is crazy lol. Definitely not getting Aventon anymore lol
can you try the colorway bk29 next?
Great video thanks
Can these be hacked to go faster than 28? It's too slow.
How is the torque sensor on this thing?
19:20 I thought you were going to run that Red light ~_~
It’s excellent
Who do you recommend?
I've got a nomad and I love it! Zero issues so far.
All the videos u make why don’t u invest in a lapel mic for those times you’re away from your phone 🤔. Regardless your reviews r awesome. Be
they just released the Nomad 1 plus, and i haven't seen anyone do content on it yet, is it meh upgrade?.
It’s faster I hear, I have one actually, I’m going to build it Monday and ride it this week. Review to come soon.

I think you are very good at this line of work But you need to be careful when around people please slow down please Be more aware of their safety and now to you you do not need to ride in traffic way too dangerous please we need you in one peace ❤
why would u want to go slow its all about speed and power....peace out
Hi
I don't think it qualifies as an "affordable" bike with a $1,700 price tag and still on pre-order.
Acoustic is a descriptor for sounds. Please just say unassisted, traditional or even pedal-powered bike.
Mashallah ♥️♥️♥️ first
Bike breaks in half at any speed bump.
man you have your volume way too loud on this video.
Dude i've said it so many times when am I gonna be talking in KILOMETRES and KG for the people that don't live in america
