It's amazing that the coolest person on Earth is a sixty something year old Asian woman. I grew up watching Michelle Yeoh movies. It blows my mind that in 2023 she may win an Oscar for Best Actress.
The hilariously sad reality is that if she was Japanese, no one would ever dare describe her as an “Asian woman”. She would be unquestionably Japanese. But because she’s not then it doesn’t matter where she’s really from.
OK --- These guys are fabulous and fun. I am close to the same (63) age as Michelle and I saw this right when it came out (in the theater) and I walked out of the theater and said this is going to be BIG and will go to the Oscars. Just a shout-out to the older people who REALLY got this movie. Keep making movies. Best movie I have seen in a very very long time.
Michelle Yeoh is the single most versatile actress we have right now. The Daniel’s nailed the fact that she completely transformed physically in an utterly invisible manner. A24 is a brilliant organization that actually makes art that challenges on numerous levels. All art makes us feel something. Great art like EEAAO makes us examine and delve and ponder and repeat the process. Well done to the entire cast and crew. You are The Hamilton of current cinema.

Watched EEAAO at a packed theater on the opening weekend was a highlight of movie going experiences for me in recent years. Little did I know what came after is such unexpected joyful journey following all these wonderful interviews of the Daniels. Just want to say I'm so thankful for all these interviewers/ hosts for their great conversations that allow us to get into the beautiful creative minds of theirs. However not all film makers are as open and generous as these two in sharing their thoughts on almost all subjects, both professionally and personally. The way they responded to that last question is so genuine and heartfelt, it's like the most positive example of a couple therapy 💕
I would love for them to work with Stephen Chow, cause some parts in EEAAO it’s very much giving Kung Fu Hustle vibes with all it’s absurd extra and sillyness combined with amazing wuxia style. That would be something

It was a terrible movie but appreciated the attempts at innovation and pushing the limits. It got us “Everything Everywhere All At Once” so it’s a step up on their creative process. Sometimes you have to bomb, especially when you’re creating new realities, to get to the crux of what you’re trying to say. EEAAO, is a masterpiece. I need to see it again in the cinema before it wins the Oscar.
Echo Quan sounds like a beautiful soul. Ke mentioned in his speech at the Oscar’s that his wife always told him that he would someday get the recognition he deserved and she was right. She told Daniels that this movie had a beautiful soul and would touch souls around the world, and she was absolutely right.
I’m in the professional games industry after years of personal projects and it’s not quite the same as them, but the imposter syndrome they express of talking and working with their heroes is so relatable on many levels. I love their humility and down-to-earth nature. Wonderful filmmakers and people and looking forward to whatever they do next!!!
EEAAO is the most recent movie which had the most impact for me. A film which you would recommend to your friend and family because its too damn awesome.

The caption fonts and everything as well as the subject matter are all floating around those sorts of themes; the absurdity and the unloading of the philosophy of the movie - it all works better tying in to those cultural realities.

My guess is the movie would be stand alone but with elements discarded from EEAAO. They mentioned love triangle and ADHD. Evelyn was intended to be ADHD but the film ended up not exploring that part. Evelyn had relationship with both Waymond and Deirdre in different universes and that might be where the love triangle is from.

I’m so glad there wasn’t any noise in the rock scene…it would have been too overwhelming after having that out of body experience where we see all the Evelyns from all the universes…
Oh yeah it was overwhelming as she transitioned into a giant rock. We felt the weight of her unhappiness and the chaos. So the silence of that scene was much needed reprieve and it was so powerful.

wow I have sung my praises of EEAO in so many ways but I'm even more touched by this film knowing that spiritual practices were followed during production ㅠㅠ great that the Daniels embraced the beliefs their cast was bringing onto set. as a queer eldest immigrant daughter I feel like all my viewings (took my fellow ethnic gals out to see it 3x over LOL I'm happy to contribute to the box office numbers for this movie) represent me + my ppl's happy ending on screen but as someone w shamans in the family I'm even more appreciate of the respect for Asian culture this film has brought into the zeitgeist
The feel of the film was VERY 1990s 2000s Hong Kong cinema. It reminded me of zany comedies like "McDull: The Alumni" (my personal favorite comedy). The cast felt like a classic Hong Kong comedy cast. It was interesting to see where this feel came from.

Really props to Michelle Yeoh for taking a risk on a crazy script like this and working with young unproven directors. I don't think the movie would be as successful if they cast Jackie Chan. It would be just comedic .

When I saw Michelle Yeoh video interview in Variety before the movie premiere I knew I had to be in theater to see. I haven't been in theater for years because I have no interest in modern movies. It was surreal sitting in theater with a bunch of 20 something kids and hearing them sobbing all over the theater during that climatic scene when Ky tells Michelle he wouldn't have mind being married to her in that other universe where they were poor and run a laundry service. I didn' think this movie was going get any attention from American viewers or OSCAR voters because it was Asian centric and didn't meet all the Disney's WOKE check boxes. GOD I hate Disney and their WOKE agendas. I did my best to spread word of mouth to all my family and friends. I purchased the movie on Apple TV and Amazon Prime to support them. Then I find out they pretty much swept the Oscar. I have no interest wasting 2 hours of my life watching the OSCAR.

Old working class minority immigrant mother with a lesbian daughter, a beta male husband advocating non-violence, and a father-in-law that sits in a wheelchair. That wasn't the one he was thinking of, though The Wizard of Oz was also released in the same year. Oddly they had the same director, Victor Fleming, who won the Oscar for Best Director for GWTW in 1940. Guess the other 3-5 directors who worked on the picture weren't credited.

Really props to Michelle Yeoh for taking a risk on a crazy script like this and working with young unproven directors. I don't think the movie would be as successful if they cast Jackie Chan. It would be just comedic .

Even the most phenomenal of directors like the Daniels would still be held back by such a mediocre screenplay. But yeah, watching MoM after EEAAO pretty much killed the last of my MCU fandom.

When I saw Michelle Yeoh video interview in Variety before the movie premiere I knew I had to be in theater to see. I haven't been in theater for years because I have no interest in modern movies. It was surreal sitting in theater with a bunch of 20 something kids and hearing them sobbing all over the theater during that climatic scene when Ky tells Michelle he wouldn't have mind being married to her in that other universe where they were poor and run a laundry service. I didn' think this movie was going get any attention from American viewers or OSCAR voters because it was Asian centric and didn't meet all the Disney's WOKE check boxes. GOD I hate Disney and their WOKE agendas. I did my best to spread word of mouth to all my family and friends. I purchased the movie on Apple TV and Amazon Prime to support them. Then I find out they pretty much swept the Oscar. I have no interest wasting 2 hours of my life watching the OSCAR.

Old working class minority immigrant mother with a lesbian daughter, a beta male husband advocating non-violence, and a father-in-law that sits in a wheelchair. It's as woke as it can get and I'm pretty sure this contributed a lot to the Oscar win.

That wasn't the one he was thinking of, though The Wizard of Oz was also released in the same year. Oddly they had the same director, Victor Fleming, who won the Oscar for Best Director for GWTW in 1940. Guess the other 3-5 directors who worked on the picture weren't credited.
