I think Michelle Yeoh winning the Oscar would have a lot more of a poetic meaning beyond representation. She took an indie film and elevated it to heights that no critic could have forecasted. Here is a 60 year old actress in a film balancing drama, action and comedy in such an operatic, profound way. The film is an unabashed love letter to an iconic career that I hope many revisit.

I still think that Cate Blanchett's performance in TÁR is the best this year and among the best of the decade. However, Michelle Yeoh's performance is really ONCE IN A LIFETIME. The race between Cate Blanchett and Michelle Yeoh to Oscar Best Actress will be among the toughest and greatest in the history of this award. If the Oscar does not honor both two actresses (like it did once in 1968 with Katharine Hepburn and Barbara Streisand), then I wish Oscar will give the golden statute to Michelle Yeoh, marking the first time an Asian actor/actress winning Best Actor/Actress title. We have white, black winners and now we have a yellow winner of this top category.

One of these actresses jumped a motorcycle onto a train at least 4 times without ever having ridden a motorcycle before. The other one has received 2 Oscars, did a bunch of plays and no doubt uses the term "the craft" a lot. I'm happy how things worked out.

Let's see you play 13 different characters in 1 moviе. Let's see how you can successfully manage the main theater of your country and at the same time star in the biggest Hollywood projects. Michelle Yeoh undersells her ballet experience. She didn't just go to *a* school for ballet in England; she went to *the* Royal school. It's just a pity that back when she attended (which must've been at least 40 years ago), racism in ballet would have prevented her from having a career in the Western world. You can see her ballet training in her posture and the way she moves, the elegant way she gestures with her hands. I know that Cate has ballet training as well. I'm interested in watching Tar after seeing this interview, er...conversation. I didn't even know of the movie, but after the glimpses of Tar's personality and then hearing the bit that she has acute hearing sensitivity and her parents are deaf, it's definitely an insight into the character's personality. It's really like witnessing the character's reflection of carrying the burden that afflicts them by their respective disability. It seems like the deaf would be absolute freedom and absolute creativity by having almost no reference, whereas Tar's would be the complete opposite, where you pick up the nuance of every.single.thing., so each note, each silent void, must have a purpose and precision to it so as to assuage her sensitivity. It seems rather extraordinary. I'll have to definitely look it up!

This pair's conversation was like a symphony , there I was sitting mesmerized, drawn in depth as they exchange their perspectives. The artistry and core understanding of these thespians' craft ,the way they decoded every detail of their work (previous and current) especially the conception and meaning of their character and pre- production is insane!! There is more to films than just the story ,the characters and the production , there is an audience. Can the audience see themselves in you as the character? Does the story have any relation to real people's realities and struggles whether past ,present or future ? What is the purpose of the Fantasy or Drama or Comedy or any other genre of your story, did you have the audience in mind? I am finding these questions answered in this conversation. We think we watch films just for entertainment , boredom and so on but beyond that, we consume, there is a transference! We are the most important part and thespians who understand that assignment must be appreciated.
