I found your channel abt 2 weeks ago. And I love love love you & your content!! I also love love love scarves! Only I'm now realizing how much I've under-used them! I'm fascinated with your layering of pieces. And I'm both surprised and pleased that just adding a touch or two elevates and "finishes" a "look." Like a scarf & a couple of pieces of jewelry. I do love scarves and have about 20 that I wear regularly when I want to "elevate & complete" what I'm wearing. But I don't wear a scarf every day if I'm not going somewhere. I think I'll start! I met Cindy several years back... she was fighting cancer when I met her... a beautiful lady... we were at the same retreat she passed about 6 years ago, now I didnt buy any of her boom sticks yet, lol. i sat with her for While...she even put some of her boom stick on checks, eyes and lips... before we went into town. She was a kind lively lovely lady, ❤
There are so many good cream options these days. I feel like I should try more of them. People mostly love the Boomsticks in particular because of the natural ingredients. I am going to look into the new products that are more natural and try those too!

I love your sense of humour Diana! I think you look terrific, classy, sassy and polished. I agree with you though, that highlighter does you no favour, especially not on your brow bone. My everyday light makeup is tinted moisturiser with sunscreen, a lip balm or lip stain, brown mascara (even brown-black is too harsh for me!). I'm a very fair, very freckled redhead (half ginger, half white now as I'm in my 50s). I have eyebrows to rival Einstein's, really, I'm not joking, if I don't trim them individual hairs can get over 1 inch long! Thankfully they are light coloured so just keeping them short gives me enough definition. When it comes to mascara, I feel that the wand matters than more the formulation. When you find the wand that works best for your lashes and your application technique, don't let it go! Wash them, re-use them! I have two identical wands that must be at least 10-15 years old, I can't even remember what mascara they came from. I buy new mascara and pretty much hate it until I try it with "my" wands! Then I love it. They'll prise those wands out of my cold dead hands, I swear!
You are so lucky to have eyebrows! I really have to draw mine in and they won't be getting fuller anytime soon. That's interesting about the mascara wands! There's this mascara called Telescopic that I had to stop using because I kept stabbing myself in the eye with it! What is with that? So weird. Yes wands are important!

In my late 20s, my mom brought me to her beautician for electrolysis (mom was struggling with those pesky menopausal chin hairs I know all too well now! ). The beautician took one look at my eyebrows and said "Girl, them's not eyebrows, them's pubes!!!" 🤣🤣🤣
Ha! I was just laughing to myself in my car today about this ridiculously long chin hair I spotted in my rearview mirror. I recorded a video with this thing here!
I used powder blush for years; now cream blush suits my skin better...I've found I can use the lipstick I'm wearing as blush...to make it sheer spread some chapstick on your finger, then some lipstick (or you can if you wish put these directly on your face) and blend as you would any cream blush. If the lipstick is sheer you won't need the chapstick. I have a lot of lipsticks and I thought this would be a great way to use them up and have a nice match/blend with my lipstick.
Love the Boomsticks! They may be a little pricey, but they are so worth it! They use the most excellent quality ingredients! They are wonderful for your skin!🌼🌸🌺

Then l you mentioned Clarins tinted sunscreen and just like that happy memories of days gone by (many) and city girl make up and they came back to me- Clarins tinted spf was what i considered a "find" for me, since the pale color was perfect and (necessary) and it was fragrance free. I used it for years until they changed it, and then it was plain old boring sunscreen for me on my make up free (moisturized with Eucerin thick cream ( life saver for very sebsitive types like me). But here you are mentioning Clarins and i must search it out. A memory is a powerful thing.. As are your delightful instructive videos. Found your channel a few weeks ago when a couple of your shorts appeared in my feed. oK, you sealed the deal with your foster kitty. So now I'm spending some time with you. I like what I see. Ive been using the Boom Sticks off and on since they were first introduced. Love them. Recently went down the Jones Road rabbit hole and don't think I will repurchase when this haul is used up. but your dupes look really good. finally, you are exceptionally lovely with or without makeup. .
Most enjoyable videos. Very similar to what I have been doing, except I don't do boots, I am heavier, shorter, same coloring, and I am in my 70s...Have bought the Boom trio, but like you, I also use my own(L'oreal non-greasy) moisturizer. I often use my lipstick on my cheeks, mascara on tops only, and no liner. The finished look is simple and subtle. With clothing, I add scarves, necklaces and pins, usually. Loved your cheery, positive attitude. Caught four videos, subscribed. Thank you for honest, well worked solutions...
You’re absolutely adorable. I did not realize 1/2 of each eyebrow was missing until I saw them in pictures😂 they are important. Don’t overdo them like some folks.

Catching up on all your videos and I love this one because you are so beautiful. I never plucked my eyebrows out when I was younger, so I’m grateful but they were very sparse. Best thing I ever did was microblade. Never think about it.
Just as an experiment, I would LOVE to see you made-up with your higher brow in it's natural place. I tend to disagree about facial symmetry- I suspect that arched brow would make you look gorgeous. I'm from an older generation, I grew up before sameface. Image search Vivienne Leigh and Hedy Lamarr, great beauties of old Hollywood. An arched eyebrow is glamorous AF.
I love this natural look you did. It’s pretty much what I do as well. I have green eyes and get lots of compliments on my color so I will put some color to accentuate them when I have time but I don’t like spending a lot of time on makeup…10’min is like overkill for me, lol. Imo, I don’t think you needed the concealer nor the contour; lucky you!!! You have very natural and pretty face shape/features. I don’t use that either although I probably do need it as I have a rounder face shape. The hint of eyeliner and the mascara competed the look, I feel and just made your pretty eyes pop a bit without making it losing the natural look. You picked out some great colors that suited you perfectly! I love the Essence brand of mascara (6$ ish) and I get the one with the curved brush. I used to swear by the Thrive mascara until I discovered the Essence one which gives me the same effect and I don’t have to wait til it comes in the mail! I also love the Burt’s Bees lip items. You have beautiful glowing skin. I completely understand the issue with the cost of Boom products but take into account the ingredients. Boom’s products are natural and that was always what drew me to them. I am currently searching for healthy ingredients in a more affordable product.

I bought the Boomsticks because I, too, love Cindy Joseph. The Boomstick color is so pretty and easy to apply and lasts about, oh I don't know, 15 minutes or so. The highlighter was okay but kept forgetting to use it. I never really did use the moisturizer stick. So I bought a couple of Revlon Black Cherry lipsticks. The color is more intense so I have to blend more, but its the same affect only it lasts longer.
Interesting! I haven't heard about that color. I have heard from others that the boomsticks don't last. I have been considering ordering them just to time how long it lasts.
@@unblahyourself Yes, the Boomstick is nice and you will look pretty good for a bit. I'll look in the mirror and think, "Yeah, I look okay for 58 years old." Then a couple of hours later, I'll pass by a mirror in the Walmart or something and think, "Holy Sh*t! I look like I belong in this store!" I use the Burts Bees tinted lip balm that you use. Also, the Elf Sheer Slick is good, and there is a Cover Girl tinted lip balm in a pink tube that I bet you'd like. You've obviously taken care of your skin and that's half the battle. I'm pushing 60 so my advice to you would be to resist buying the Boomsticks--too expensive. Keep some color on your face and lips, stand up straight, dress a little bit nicer than you need to for any given occasion and smile a lot. You're doing great!
@@unblahyourself Posture is so important! I teach 5th graders and one of the things I tell them is how important body language is. I tell them when you walk into that middle school next year, you stand up straight! You stand up straight and if you don't feel confident, then you just fake it! I'm not saying no one will bully you or mess with you, but at least don't make yourself into a target or a victim.
@@unblahyourself Most of the brands you used are listed as cruelty-free by Leaping Bunny and Cruelty-free Kitty (NYX, Weleda, Covergirl). MAC, unfortunately isn't. ELF is an affordable line that's CF.

I have olive skin and many wrinkles as I am in my mid sixties. I have yet to find a product that helps conceal my deep lip lines/ smile lines or any moisturizer or stick that gives me that dewy look. So aggravating. You have beautiful skin without anything on it!
Thank you! Have you tried the IT Cosmetics cc cream "Nude Glow" that's supposed to look dewy? I find that really looks great on older skin. Nothing really "conceals wrinkles" but that cc cream does a great job of making skin look alive and fresh.
Very nice. Recent subscriber. First time seeing someone attempt a Boom dupe. Love knowing NYX has a nice offering. I think her daughters added all the new products in recent years. Cindy kept it very basic.
Good video. I realize I already have very similar products to the boom sticks. Love the tip on using the Skin Food-which I have. Sometimes the ads really pull us in -before we realize we could duplicate the results with what we have.
Glad it was helpful! I should do another video on other color sticks because I noticed as the seasons change I like and need a dewier, more moisturizing stick and for that I use a MILK brand blush stick. There are so many choices out there though!
You look great before and after. The eyebrows are the most important thing for you. That is the thing that makes the most difference. Consider a little more blush on the apples of your cheeks.
The tinted moisturizer looks great. The thing is I can’t find it in your description anywhere or even on Amazon or even in a Google search so could you send me the link that would be wonderful. I loved cindy joseph …but as she passed away I think the company capitalized on her name and rep….so I appreciate the option to consider less expensive products that are similar
Well I ended up continuing to use these NYX sticks to this day so I think I've tested them enough to say they are pretty great! The Boom products are pricey. I'm sure they are good though.
I got hooked into buying BOOM sticks. Worked for a quick freshen up, got to run, look. But couldn’t keep up with the price. Have you tried JONES ROAD? Expensive, thought it was going to be magical… not so much 😂😂😂 I would like your thoughts on their product, it’s Bobby Brown’s new line. Maybe if she’d team applied it it might be perfect 😊
I'm very interested in Jones Road but I'm very put off by the advertising because in the "afters" the women are always suddenly wearing eyeliner. I think we deserve a more fair before and after!
@@unblahyourself true. The foundation went bad really quickly. It gets a skin on top that needs to be stired back into the product or taken out. Never got the hang of it. And then there’s the magical miracle balm. Takes some getting used to. I’ve seen the models in advertising for other products in which they looked just as good. I got hooked by the sales pitch I got bombarded with after the initial research in the product. I’ve also watched reviews. It’s either love it, or hate it. I would love to see you critique the brand.
One of the boom stick perks is that it is all good healthy things for your skin, no chemicals, no skin irritating ingredients. They’re made of all natural ingredients that your skin loves. I’ve used boom sticks for about 5 years and I’ll tell you a secret, they’re not as cheap as some other cosmetics you can buy but they last foreverrrrrrrrr. I’ve spent less using these boom sticks than the other cheaper cosmetics that are always needing to be re purchased. The idea is simplicity, healthy ingredients especially for people with sensitive skin like mine, and bringing your face alive. Mascara and brows optional but honestly the boom sticks are worth every penny and cost effective considering they last so so long. You really can’t dupe the boom sticks without adding more items daily to your routine and way more chemicals to your skin that are soaking into your skin all day long and irritating for a lot of people. I’m not trying to be rude but you’ve kind of missed the whole point of what the boom sticks are about. The other products for boom were added after Cindy passed and it’s gotten out of hand with the brow gel, mascara, lipgloss etc. but originally boom was exactly what Cindy intended it to be. Simple, healthy, and just what we needed to feel beautiful everyday. If you feel you need more, you can do whatever makes you happy but are you doing it for you? Or to fit in with society’s idea of what you need to be accepted? Something to think about. Your make up look is great for more of a natural no make up make up but nothing to compare to the boom sticks. Boom before Cindy’s passing was perfect and still perfect without all the newer added items.
I'm working on a new simple makeup video and I'm finding I actually like my face better without mascara and concealer! I'm so trained to think it's necessary. Hard to break out of certain patterns!

I really look the way you look without makeup. You remind me of Agelina Jolie like that. I believe you are a "delicate" according to Merriam Style if you know about her. She has a youtube channel and I love her analysing. I don't know what kind of delicate, if warm or cool.
Boomsticks have very little product in the tubes. They don’t last long on your face either. They melt away. The extra products were added after she died. Nudestix has a little kit of tube makeup that might be a dupe. I’d like to try that. The MAC lipstick gave you the biggest bang for your buck. It looks fantastic on you.
Your lashes are just fine. You can try curling them for the illusion of more length, so long as you use a waterproof mascara. Regular mascaras break the hydrogen bonds and undo the curl. 😢

I've used Boomsticks for years. They last a very long time and are great for sensitive skin. The Boomstick highlighter stick is not similar to what you used at all. It is a version of the other Boomsitck--not white or pearly. I don't purchase all the other products that were added after Cindy Joseph's passing but I love the color and highlighter sticks and they are great for travel. I use a tinted sunscreen underneath. I do appreciate your attempt at duping though and love to hear about your favorite products.
I wear these two sticks nearly every day, I'd say I'm happy with my look throughout the day without reapplying... but often I am applying them over IT cosmetics CC cream and maybe even primer. I probably should do a new video about how I'm using them now and what I've learned. I'd say the staying power is pretty good!
You have gorgeous eyes! The highlight really makes them pop, and so does the mascara. Not sure why you talk so poorly about your eyes/lids because you have doe eyes a lot of women would kill for.
Sadly, Cindy died in 2018 of sarcoma. She was only 67. She admitted the hair extensions the ad people said she should wear. That said, she was a naturally beautiful woman. Joseph was the originator of a lot of the cream makeup sticks trending today.
Eyebrows - no need to shave, let them be natural ( the follicles there are extra sensitive and syop growing sooner than the everywhere else ). . Look at linda evangelista - one eyebrow way higher than the other. No problem. Theyre cousins not twins. Your dissimilar eyebrows are great.
NYX is pronounced Nix. She was the Ancient Greek goddess of the night! Weleda skin food has been around since the 1920s! I’d never heard of Boom sticks - I don’t think they reached the U.K.
Putting pink on your neck looks as if you are having a hot flush. I would rather put a light color of bronzing powder instead. Apart from that, you are very pretty, even without makeup.
Your skin is a great tone and color, you have visible coloured lashes. Your lips have a beautiful natural color as well. So, you have a beautiful look totally nude face.

BOOM STICKS are my main staple of make-up! I really don’t need any, but if I need color it’s nice and I’m not allergic to it.

I bought boomsticks a year ago. They are lovely and very handy when you are traveling.

Agree. I like the boom stick products. But it's not enough. I wear moisturizer and need eyebrows and mascara.
Most enjoyable videos. Very similar to what I have been doing, except I don't do boots, I am heavier, shorter, same coloring, and I am in my 70s...Have bought the Boom trio, but like you, I also use my own(L'oreal non-greasy) moisturizer. I often use my lipstick on
my cheeks, mascara on tops only, and no liner. The finished look is simple and subtle. With clothing, I add scarves, necklaces and

Catching up on all your videos and I love this one because you are so beautiful. I never plucked my eyebrows out when I was younger, so I’m grateful but they were very sparse. Best thing I ever did was microblade. Never think about it.
Just as an experiment, I would LOVE to see you made-up with your higher brow in it's natural place. I tend to disagree about facial symmetry- I suspect that arched brow would make you look gorgeous. I'm from an older generation, I grew up before sameface. Image search Vivienne Leigh and Hedy Lamarr, great beauties of old Hollywood. An arched eyebrow is glamorous AF.

I love this natural look you did. It’s pretty much what I do as well. I have green eyes and get lots of compliments on my color so I will put some color to accentuate them
when I have time but I don’t like spending a lot of time on makeup…10’min is like overkill for me, lol. Imo, I don’t think you needed the concealer nor the contour; lucky you!!! You have very natural and pretty face shape/features. I don’t use that either although I probably do need it as I have a rounder face shape. The hint of eyeliner and the mascara competed the look, I feel and just made your pretty eyes pop a bit without making it losing the natural look. You picked out some great colors that suited you perfectly! I love the Essence brand of mascara (6$ ish) and I get the one with the curved brush. I used to swear by the Thrive mascara until I discovered the Essence one which gives me the same effect and I don’t have to wait til it comes in the mail! I also love the Burt’s Bees lip items.

You have beautiful glowing skin. I completely understand the issue with the cost of Boom products but take into account the ingredients. Boom’s products are natural and that was always what drew me to them. I am currently searching for healthy ingredients in a more affordable product.

I bought the Boomsticks because I, too, love Cindy Joseph. The Boomstick color is so pretty and easy to apply and lasts about, oh I don't know, 15 minutes or so. The highlighter was okay but kept forgetting to use it. I never really did use the moisturizer stick.
So I bought a couple of Revlon Black Cherry lipsticks. The color is more intense so I have to blend more, but its the same affect only it lasts longer.
Interesting! I haven't heard about that color. I have heard from others that the boomsticks don't last. I have been considering ordering them just to time how long it lasts.
@@unblahyourself Yes, the Boomstick is nice and you will look pretty good for a bit. I'll look in the mirror and think, "Yeah, I look okay for 58 years old." Then a couple of hours later, I'll pass by a mirror in the Walmart or something and think, "Holy Sh*t! I look like I belong in this store!"
I use the Burts Bees tinted lip balm that you use. Also, the Elf Sheer Slick is good, and there is a Cover Girl tinted lip balm in a pink tube that I bet you'd like.
You've obviously taken care of your skin and that's half the battle. I'm pushing 60 so my advice to you would be to resist buying the Boomsticks--too expensive. Keep some color on your face and lips, stand up straight, dress a little bit nicer than you need to for any given occasion and smile a lot. You're doing great!

@@unblahyourself Posture is so important! I teach 5th graders and one of the things I tell them is how important body language is. I tell them when you walk into that middle school next year, you stand up straight! You stand up straight and if you don't feel confident, then you just fake it!
I'm not saying no one will bully you or mess with you, but at least don't make yourself into a target or a victim.

I have olive skin and many wrinkles as I am in my mid sixties. I have yet to find a product that helps conceal my deep lip lines/ smile lines or any moisturizer or stick that gives me that dewy look. So aggravating. You have beautiful skin without anything on it!
Thank you! Have you tried the IT Cosmetics cc cream "Nude Glow" that's supposed to look dewy? I find that really looks great on older skin. Nothing really "conceals wrinkles" but that cc cream does a great job of making skin look alive and fresh.

Very nice. Recent subscriber. First time seeing someone attempt a Boom dupe. Love knowing NYX has a nice offering. I think her daughters added all the new products in recent years. Cindy kept it very basic.
Good video. I realize I already have very similar products to the boom sticks. Love the tip on using the Skin Food-which I have. Sometimes the ads really pull us in -before we realize we could duplicate the results with what we have.

You look great before and after. The eyebrows are the most important thing for you. That is the thing that makes the most difference. Consider a little more blush on the apples of your cheeks.

Well I ended up continuing to use these NYX sticks to this day so I think I've tested them enough to say they are pretty great! The Boom products are pricey. I'm sure they are good though.
I got hooked into buying BOOM sticks. Worked for a quick freshen up, got to run, look. But couldn’t keep up with the price. Have you tried JONES ROAD? Expensive, thought it was going to be magical… not so much 😂😂😂 I would like your thoughts on their product, it’s Bobby Brown’s new line. Maybe if she’d team applied it it might be perfect 😊
I'm very interested in Jones Road but I'm very put off by the advertising because in the "afters" the women are always suddenly wearing eyeliner. I think we deserve a more fair before and after!
@@unblahyourself true. The foundation went bad really quickly. It gets a skin on top that needs to be stired back into the product or taken out. Never got the hang of it. And then there’s the magical miracle balm. Takes some getting used to. I’ve seen the models in advertising for other products in which they looked just as good. I got hooked by the sales pitch I got bombarded with after the initial research in the product. I’ve also watched reviews. It’s either love it, or hate it. I would love to see you critique the brand.
One of the boom stick perks is that it is all good healthy things for your skin, no chemicals, no skin irritating ingredients. They’re made of all natural ingredients that your skin loves. I’ve used boom sticks for about 5 years and I’ll tell you a secret, they’re not as cheap as some other cosmetics you can buy but they last foreverrrrrrrrr. I’ve spent less using these boom sticks than the other cheaper cosmetics that are always needing to be re purchased. The idea is simplicity, healthy ingredients especially for people with sensitive skin like mine, and bringing your face alive. Mascara and brows optional but honestly the boom sticks are worth every penny and cost effective considering they last so so long. You really can’t dupe the boom sticks without adding more items daily to your routine and way more chemicals to your skin that are soaking into your skin all day long and irritating for a lot of people. I’m not trying to be rude but you’ve kind of missed the whole point of what the boom sticks are about. The other products for boom were added after Cindy passed and it’s gotten out of hand with the brow gel, mascara, lipgloss etc. but originally boom was exactly what Cindy intended it to be. Simple, healthy, and just what we needed to feel beautiful everyday. If you feel you need more, you can do whatever makes you happy but are you doing it for you? Or to fit in with society’s idea of what you need to be accepted? Something to think about. Your make up look is great for more of a natural no make up make up but nothing to compare to the boom sticks. Boom before Cindy’s passing was perfect and still perfect without all the newer added items.

These NYX are pretty good for that! I have found that MAC lipsticks used as cream blush really last the longest.

Boomsticks have very little product in the tubes. They don’t last long on your face either. They melt away. The extra products were added after she died. Nudestix has a little kit of tube makeup that might be a dupe. I’d like to try that. The MAC lipstick gave you the biggest bang for your buck. It looks fantastic on you.

Your lashes are just fine. You can try curling them for the illusion of more length, so long as you use a waterproof mascara. Regular mascaras break the hydrogen bonds and undo the curl. 😢

I've used Boomsticks for years. They last a very long time and are great for sensitive skin. The Boomstick highlighter stick is not similar to what you used at all. It is a version of the other Boomsitck--not white or pearly. I don't purchase all the other products that were added after Cindy Joseph's passing but I love the color and highlighter sticks and they are great for travel. I use a tinted sunscreen underneath. I do appreciate your attempt at duping though and love to hear about your favorite products.

I wear these two sticks nearly every day, I'd say I'm happy with my look throughout the day without reapplying... but often I am applying them over IT cosmetics CC cream and maybe even primer. I probably should do a new video about how I'm using them now and what I've learned. I'd say the staying power is pretty good!

Sadly, Cindy died in 2018 of sarcoma. She was only 67. She admitted the hair extensions the ad people said she should wear. That said, she was a naturally beautiful woman. Joseph was the originator of a lot of the cream makeup sticks trending today.
Eyebrows - no need to shave, let them be natural ( the follicles there are extra sensitive and syop growing sooner than the everywhere else ). . Look at linda evangelista - one eyebrow way higher than the other. No problem. Theyre cousins not twins. Your dissimilar eyebrows are great.
My drama teacher in high school said when you wear pink around your eyes they look weak - we used it for “old and sick” characters! Eek!

Putting pink on your neck looks as if you are having a hot flush. I would rather put a light color of bronzing powder instead. Apart from that, you are very pretty, even without makeup.
