There's hardly any clothing item I love more than SILK SCARVES. In this video I am styling all of my silk scarves! I'm showing all of them and how to style them. We also talk about how to care for silk, store your scarves, and how to style them for travel!
Settle in, because we're going to talk about how easy, useful and beautiful these scarves are and how you can use them. The different shapes can be folded in ways you might not expect. They are easier to care for than most people realize.
A silk scarf is your best friend if you're looking to:
add color to your outfit
brighten your face
protect your neck and chest
feel a delightful fabric on your skin
dress up your look
tie back your hair
tie up your hair
mop up sweat
hide your booty
The list goes on and on. Just watch the video because I cover everything, with 100% enthusiasm because this is my favorite topic. I hope it's yours too!!

Love the art jacket. I would take that flap thing and pin it up artfully with a broach. I collect old costume jewelry pins to wear with my scarves. They are like little pieces of art, too. I get lots of compliments on them.

I have two of those ringy thingys. One for larger shawls and one for crazy tights. The silk scarves, and I lean liberty, live in a folded stack.
I just found a Liberty scarf while thrifting for 3 dollars!

I have been collecting silk scarves since I inherited all my mother in law’s scarves collection in 2012. I am always adding more silk scarves to my new collection, my favorite place to buy them is at estate sales and consignment stores. Love your video, you have great style.

It's so funny you say that because I'm not good with scripts and it took me my whole 45 years to finally decide to be in front of a camera! I still think I'll never be good with scripts. I'm totally winging these videos!

I spent ages 15-22 modeling but was able to switch gears into activities I find much more worthwhile! Funny but I've always envied tiny women and how cute they are!
I love scarves and your sense of humor. I tend to pair scarves with solid color outfits so my options are limited. I’ll try to experiment more ☺️

I have a great selection, lately collecting Ferragamo safari scarves, the ones where the animals are made of flowers. What you are doing shows off the colors well but to show off the😂 designs I will try some ways that don’t scrunch them up too much. Enjoyed seeing your scarves, it was fun. I also have a bunch of parrots from just about every island.

Big bulky scarves are great on other people but not on me because I'm petite. I look for lightweight, narrow or small ones.

I am a total scarfaholic, too. I can’t get enough of them. I need to pair down eventually. Great tips on why to keep them or edit them out.

I have boxes of them. It was easier to wear them in Europe. Texas, not so much. I had a YSL one in high school that i still regret giving away. Back then, I had no idea how much it was worth.

My sister has that same MOMA scarf, so I'll share this video with her. I think I went to the same store in Paris. I also stocked up on scarves. I gave one to each friend when I got back home. Affordable and easy to pack travel momento that I i see them using😊

I have many unworn silk and good fabric scarves collected over the years. A lot I thought would help alleviate a short hair texture problem to no avail :( however, now I can revisit them with new eyes after your channel found me, which I thoroughly enjoy!
PS-couldn’t you have worn the little one you almost donated (that spelled Special?) with the MTV shirt, maybe in warmer weather…or maybe to comic book…:)

I repair most things I love so I had to learn how to do a rolled hem for silk scarves. Now my problem is not scarves tearing, but me not being able to get rid of any!

Oh gosh I'm not sure I'm too good with head scarves. I haven't gotten a lot of practice since my head is the shape of a giant toe and scarves want to slip off so I give up! 😂
Haha I was totally thinking "No I'm definitely not a Scarf Lady" until you brought out the ikea hanger thing 😂 Living in the Northern Realm I tend to have scarves mostly for warmth in wool and some cotton print scarves from india. I have no silk scarves, maybe I should try one, do you find them in charity shops/thrift stores? Also, you're inspiring me to wear more deep V neck tops!

You can get those anywhere in LA for like 6-12 dollars so I'm not sure where I picked this one up, probably Home Depot! 😂
I keep mine folded. Wish. Had giant roll out drawers (like at the 4 seasons in NY) and have an entire wall full to properly see my scarves. Maybe even have a scarf room! Am I getting carried away?

I probably wouldn't wear it as a tie. Right now I use a silk neck tie to tie my trench coat!

Number 19 is a keeper but not with the dress! Maybe more of a 90s retro style? I have very little knowledge about scarves! Although much more educated thanks to your video.

Is there a way to tell if a scarf is silk or synthetic, if it doesn't have a label??
It's not easy sometimes to tell the difference but I've watched some videos on this and I like the crush test. Crush a bit of the scarf up in your hand and hold it there for 30 seconds to a minute and when you release it silk should have a little bit of a wrinkle to it but a lot of synthetic that fabrics won't.
How does one go to the bathroom in a cat suit? I bet a scarf could come in handy.

How do I wear a scarf to hide my bottom. My sweater dress hugs my bottom.
Hi Deborah! I don't think anyone needs to hide their bottom with a scarf, but maybe you could balance it out or direct attention elsewhere? Like, one of the bigger scarves wrapped up in a chunky way could add bulk and color up higher so more people look there rather than below. Scarves are great for a distracting dash of color!

1. Do you ever pin the scarves?
2. Did you cut the #31 T-shirt sleeves off?
1. I don't pin them because I don't like the thought of anything sharp near my neck. I'll just reposition them throughout the day instead.
2. Yes! My mom was always rolling her eyes at me because if I didn't like my clothes I would just start cutting them. Haha!

That is totally cute, but is it just me? I'd have to bobby pin the heck out of that to stay on my head! I do think I have kind of a cinder block shaped head so maybe that's why things don't stay on. Would this stay on your head? I don't know how people keep these things from slipping within minutes!
