My friend you are an absolute genius. Been following you for a very long time and i am always impressed by the quality and standard of your work. Keep up the awesome work. Great channel 👍👍👍👌👌👌👌🙏🙏
For your metal lathe: 1. take apart your live center and oil it 2. take apart your saddle, cross slide and tool support and make sure everything is clean and flat (india stones or synthetic ruby stones that come in various angles and shapes will help). Then, put it all back together, tightening everything down as you go. Bonus: get some premix concrete, a flower pot tray thing, mix it and pour the thing with 4 (if that's how many holes your lathe has) carriage bolts sticking out (using a piece of wood to which they are bolted) from it. Use some pieces of rebar inside made into a classic beam using some wire to tie it all together (it's not strictly necessary, but it will prevent the slab from cracking over time). Then throw your lathe on this, making sure you're spacing the feet such that the lathe's ways are straight and parallel when you tighten the thing down (some finessing of the concrete slab will be necessary). This will improve the quality of your lathe, less chatter, less vibrations.

Very impressive! An artist tool. A tool to be proud of and hand down to your children. I am inspired. Thank you, Mr. Gear Show!
Wow, thank you!
Wow, thank you!
Love seeing broken items re-purposed into something useful.
Even when something is unfixable, it's not useless. You can always use them as spare parts as shown in this video.
Thanks for this comment :)
Marvelous build, criminally underviewed!
Great way to adapt and build useful tools.

Yes, that is a very beautiful well built tool ! Bravo. sir.
Thank you very much!
1:09 - Very clever of you to rinse the parts in coffee -- I'll start doing that, too!
Coffee?
@@jeffersonrooney : If something sounds silly or outlandish you might consider whether it's meant humoristically. Are you American?
@@barkebaat Hum. I was just curious.
No. I'm Brazilian
@@jeffersonrooney : Well, then you'll have no problems getting the coffee :-)
@@barkebaat hahaha! That's awesome. You win the internet for the day for me.
Лучший, спасибо за потраченное время!!! Здоровья тебе и твоей семье!!!
