I’ve got a similar problem as well with my Camaro 3800. MAF doesn’t work when I plug it up. Recently cleaned the old maf and throttle body and it’s been having this problem ever since. Your video is the first I’ve come across with a similar issue to mine. I changed out IAC now this has me wondering if it might be my TPS or I’ve done research on MAP sensor as well… ? What do you suggest? Good video. Laughed when you said you’re gonna wanna make sure you drop your tool under the car lol.
Hey Rhett, the MAF can cause the idle to be high or way low. my guess is you need a MAF or the wiring/connector is open/broke. recheck your wiring and if you have a friend at a parts store maybe they’ll let you “try” a MAF to determine the problem. Good luck!
Nice video. I'm kinda having that problem with my 2000 v6 camaro.. it idales, and then it will want to cut off sometimes it does. Then, when driving I give it gas then kinda sputters like it wants to die. So I'll try what you did lol..
So this problem ended up being a couple things. I had to solder my PCM because it got too hot from using an aftermarket air intake and running it to the original “air filter box”. I believe my car couldn’t breathe essentially. I got an AC delco MAF as well as changed out the fuel filter bc my car was cutting off when I would come to stops as well and it would die on me even after I changed out the alternator. Hope this helps someone.
@@mitchnelsonperformance Idle was all over the place and it would die, only occasional codes, MAF if I recall but not very often. I think it wouldn't shift correctly, either. It's been a long time.... Tossed another ECM from a wrecked GS same year in there and went through the key learn with the BCM, all was good afterward.

We ought to do a video of the mustang! Lol
My 3800 Firebird is acting up, what kind of double din is that?
Sorry I can’t recall?
My Regal GS had a bad computer, the 5V reference for the MAP sensor was fluctuating.
wow! good find there! that would for sure do it!
