    V2 spool holder works great on a Ender3 V2. Thanks for posting!

      "Bothering you?" LOL.
      Wrong it actually works very well, many "upgrades" do nothing for performance and are lipstick to make it look good, and can degrade performance. "Upgrades" are only going if blind tested and carefully precisely measured with calibrated instruments, anything else is blind guessing.
      Though nothing wrong with making it quieter or look better or cooler in your view.

    you're ambitious for using the plastic extruder

    • @DesktopInventions
      @DesktopInventions  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The extruder and heat block are still metal just the fan mounts are plastic. We’ll see how it holds up over time

      @@DesktopInventions you're not talking about the extruder

    My cooling fan connectors (see 3:32 in your vid) also broke (in part ? because Creality had used "pointy" tipped screws, the leading few millimeters of which did not bight into the plastic). Although I just swapped the two screws with squarer-tipped self-tapping screws (which worked fine), my fix is probably more appropriate as a preventative upgrade for a new fan shroud.

    • @DesktopInventions
      @DesktopInventions  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea that’s a good point, I think my screw boss had broke off completely. I wonder if they’ve fixed the design yet.

    please sort your audio levels in future videos.. especially if your using ultra compressed music. having to constantly turn up and down speakers every time you transition from narration to a random unnecessary montage scene is really annoying. if you insist on the montage edits please either compress your voice over audio and bring your levels up to match the giant wall of sound music, or just use more dynamic music that isn't compressed to shit/obnoxiously loud.

    • @DesktopInventions
      @DesktopInventions  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes this is one of my earlier videos I was very bad (nonexistent) at audio balancing at the time. Sorry for the poor experience. I’m considering fixing the audio and uploading again.

  • @henricoderre

    No offense intended, but these are not upgrades. These are embellishments. They do nothing to add to the functionality of the printer. An upgrade, in my humble opinion, is something that improves on a device's functionality.

    • @DesktopInventions
      @DesktopInventions  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes fair points a lot of those were not technically upgrades and none of them added additional functionality but a few did restore the original functionality. Before I had the side mounted filament spool I kept getting snags and ruining prints partway through. Also with the original fan housing there were some broken bosses causing the fan to rattle around inside. I appreciate the feedback and will be more considerate with my wording in the future!

      @@DesktopInventions The dual side part cooling fan is an upgrade indeed. Some suggestion for other upgrades: - double sided pei sheet - direct drive mod with 3d printed bracked. These two will change your printing experience on the ender. Thanks for your work, keep it up!

    Lol moving the spool can't change the angle it's pulled off of it.. It does help the angle it go's in to the extruder. However no matter where you put the spool it's a wheel so it will always leave at 90 to the center. Science..

    • @DesktopInventions
      @DesktopInventions  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yup exactly the filament pulling off will always be tangent to the spool. I meant changing the angle where it goes in the extruder. I’ve had some issues there in the past causing some under extrusion. Looking back though it may have also been from poor spool management.. losing the end of the spool and causing a tangle has definitely happened a few times.

    Did the Z-19 improve cooling at all?

    • @DesktopInventions
      @DesktopInventions  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t think there was any improvement, but I also did not see any issues. I didn’t get a chance to do an overhang test with the Z-19 but retraction test prints and speed test prints looked good.

    • @DesktopInventions
      @DesktopInventions  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are settings within your printers firmware to set the X/Y offset for the BLTouch. I recently did a video on installing the a BLTouch which touches on this point… pun intended xD

    will these work on an ender 3 pro

    • @DesktopInventions
      @DesktopInventions  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The side mounted filament will work.
      I don’t think the new extruder head will work since the pro has 3 fans and possible different mounting.
      Extrusion slot covers will work but the length might vary.
      The QR cover should work also.
      X and Y knob covers work work since the ender3 pro doesn’t have those knobs.
      If you check out the links in the description they should have more information if they work on the enter 3 pro. Hope this helps!

    My P.O.S. Ender won't work, it just sits there on the work bench w/ fan running, bed heats up & that's it. Back to the store for a refund. It's "Not Mac Compatible" with 10.13.6

    • @DesktopInventions
      @DesktopInventions  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s strange, you should be able to download some Gcode files directly from thingiverse and print from an SD card regardless of Mac or PC, unless something is wrong with the printer itself. I hope you get it figured out!
