Yeah. Definitely the same symptom (bucking) with my Audi A3 which I just got the recall notice today. Sounds like, from listening to you guys, it could be what is wrong. Will know after it is replaced. Thanks so much.
Nice! Yeah man, let’s hope this is the cause. We would be doing the community and VW a major favor by letting them know this part is the cause of the bucking, if it is!!
Just got a recall notice for my 2015 GTI. Have also been experiencing sputtering and bucking issues. Have gotten worse as of late. EPC light came on yesterday after severe sputtering and went into limp mode until i turned the car off and back on…
Am going thru sane thing with audi pending recall but have had extended warranty for months. Went to get it tkn care of and an airbag recall and got there and they sd it didn't need to be replaced and i tried sayin my symptoms symptoms were caused by other bs. (Is been losing power sporadically, bucking on occasion, slight loss of gas mileage. 2mo later, smell strong gas, two to pump and it clicks off every 2 seconds and still spills out of empty tank. Scheduled appt will ago and something told me to call b4 driving out of town and glad bc they tried telling me that's not issue over phone again and had no loaned even though request was made and they told me they would advise if they could secure one. I'm so upset. I've contacted corporate
just got back from the dealership for inability to pump more then .50 cents worth of gas. paid the 180 for diagnostic. came back fuel suction pump 1500 to replace lmao. since theres "no fix" for the recall.
Wait what? $1500??? It’s a $70 part and maybe takes 2hrs max of labor time after them being the car in and out of the shop (honestly it’s about an hour of work). You should never have to them for the Dx because they’re expensive and your symptom is easily known as the suction pump. Are you just going to wait until they get the recalled part and then they fix it for free?
Same thing happened to my 2017 gti sport. Had it towed to the dealership closer to my house after all the gas leaked out the rear passenger wheel well. They said I needed a new fuel pump. $1500. Got it back a day or two later and didn’t even make it to the gas station before it died on the side of the road because they left it on empty. Had it towed back AGAIN and now they’re saying the purge valve is stuck open because it was trying to pull gas when there was no gas in it. They wanted me to pay another $150 for that, but said they would “take care of labor” or it would’ve been close to $700. They ended up replacing that for free because I still insisted it should be under the recall and had just paid them $1500. Got the car back and they had finally put gas in it, so after a day of driving around and not having problems, I went to fill up the tank and couldn’t put more than 50¢ worth of gas before it was spilling out. Finally have it at the dealership I bought it at and they’re replacing the entire gas tank under warranty/recall. Now I have to figure out how to get my money back from the other VW dealership that kept trying to avoid the recall. Been without my car for 3 weeks now, but the dealership that is fixing it under warranty/recall gave me a loaner finally when the first dealership refused. 🤬
@brettmulholland5676 wow. That is crazy! What a crappy dealership telling you it was your LPFP. They all should know by now that your symptom you were having was directly related to the $30 suction jet pump! Sounds like they were just trying to scam you for money. VW is so shady in that regard! Glad you were able to take it to a different dealer and get everything sorted as well as get a loaner. Any update on the car as of now?
@JacesOwnWorld just seen this lol. I replaced the suction pump my self. and drained the charcoal canister and it's been working ever since. I just seen they finally released the "fix" for the recall.
Hi, I have a 2017 GTI Autobahn and I am also getting the sputtering issue when cold drive. I have to hit the highway before my oil temps are even showing up and if I throttle a bit, It feels like my car is "shaking?"/ "sputtering?" It goes away when my temperatures are up. For me, I noticed it more right after I got my MBRP exhaust installed so I wasn't sure if this is a me problem or every GTI problem. I changed spark plugs and oil but the issue persists. Please let me know if replacing the suction jet fuel pump fixes the issue and hopefully VW can do some investigation on this matter. Cheers!
Only thing I get with my mk7 it’s a 16 btw everytime I go fill up I never get more then 9.4 gallons regardless of filling up at a 1/4 or when the light goes on
Its your fuel man. Its got a nasty hole. That's why your unloading in 3rd. Lengthen the injector pulse another millisecond just tune the NOS timing and you'll run nines. :)

Same, Same brother! No odor or fill trouble, but pretty sure that’s where my bucking is coming from 🤞🏼

@@JacesOwnWorld absolutely, thanks for leading the charge on this one!

Wow. You need to try a different dealer. Sounds like the one you took it to is incompetent.
Is one of the symptoms gas consumption?? I'll drive maybe 50mins and it'll go from a full tank to a little below 3/4..just seems a bit excessive 🤔
It’s possible. That could also be related to your fuel level float that’s on your LPFP. You sure your gauge is reading properly?
@@JacesOwnWorld eh who know now adays haha. GoodSpeed Performance tuned my mk7
Haha. It’s a guessing game
I too read safety recall letters while driving at highway speeds down the road. Safety first, then watch the road
50mph is highway speeds? 🤣🤡

I will definitely be posting another video for a follow up once this part is installed.

This part is definitely the reason why. What you’re experiencing is the main culprit.
