DaVinci Resolve crashed the very first time I installed it and just began to look at it. I already have Premiere Pro through my Adobe cloud subscription. I'm beginning to learn video editing but I'm not defaulting to the software that I have. I'm more interested in the software that is more comfortable for me. At a glance, Resolve has a huge advantage. It was weird as I was going through tutorials on both software. When I wanted to edit audio when using Premiere Pro, I had to wait a long time as it did some things then launched Adobe Audition. It was like, on the one hand you have all of this stuff built right into 1 software and it is a smooth process to edit video and audio. And on the other hand, Premiere Pro is super clunky by comparison. But Davinci Resolve is free or low cost. How is this even a conversation? Is there something about Premiere Pro that is just so overwhelmingly good that it makes sense for people to choose it over Resolve?
I actually switched to the Z9 from the A7SIII due to the 8K 60 with N-RAW in my camera bag. Colours great too with Davinci. :) So, someone has said it.
I've been a long-time user of Vegas, and HitFilm for the last several years, but I have to say that Davinci Resolve has been impressing me in versions 17 and 18, and it just may be becoming my new favourite editor. Currently I am working on a personal video project using Vegas as the main editor, but I have been doing most of the effects work in Resolve/Fusion (with a few using HitFilm). I think future projects may be using Resolve for most of the work.
If I may ask, have you been editing BRAW-footage in Vegas Pro? If so, how is that working out for you? I have always used Vegas, but after recently upgrading to Blackmagic cameras and the BRAW-format; I am more or less unable to use Vegas, the crashes and ''not responding'' is just non-stop. :(
@kimeriksson7445 sorry but I haven't used BRAW. Vegas has had stability issues for as long as I've used it. It got so I was hitting Save after almost every little change just in case. The one big useful feature I still like it for is the automatic crossfades. It comes in handy when I'm editing my "TH-cam Poop" type videos to make sentence mixing smoother.
This video might be informative, but honestly I have no idea. It might just be be but your style seams a bit disorganised, the intro was probably meant to be funny ( and to long time viewrs who have probably seen a few of those changes they might be, but fit oeople like me (0 that came to this video vua a google serch on why people change to resolve it's jus dead time) , but hay I'm all about giving people second chances. , a shirt studio tour, hmm odd wasn't this supposed to be about.. oh well probably a bit of fan service, fair enugh . You started talking about resolve and premiere, well that is positive... hold on a rant about passwords, I give up. It might just be my ADD, but at this point I'm keft with the feeling that this shuld be at least to separate videos on studio tout+ you changing yout mind multiple times about a whole range if products over the years and the other about why you soesifically swithed from premiere pro to resolve, not shire where to put the password thing. Anyway I know I'm only one viewer so take this for what it is my 2 cents/rant, it was not ment to put you down, I'll check out some of your other stuff in a few days and see if i like it better. At any rate have a goid day

I didnt like the Nikon bash at the start of the vid. The Z series is actually very well made with very good video capabilities.

Premier pro lags and crashes alot, I even use proxies and lower the resolution
I’m currently dealing with those problems at the moment, honestly debating if i should switch to davinci or not.
