    For anyone who does any of this and gets a black screen for more than 5 seconds don't panic, your xbox will usually reset to the previous setting after 20 seconds if you don't touch your controller and answer the "Confirm change" box. As for those who still experience a bit of gaming fps frustration after doing all this try lowering your resolution down a bit. On 720p I seem to be able to block and parry like it's nothing on for honor and on 1080p not so much.
    Also thank you to the creator of this video, I thought perhaps this was going to explain how to bypass my xbox sayig "You can't run 120hz" which I believed was due to me not having a 4k tv. This video has made it clear to me that it actually might be my HDMI port so thank you 😁

    • @ThreeFirstNames

      This is really going to depend on your specific monitor but it does seem to be that you have to use an hdmi 2.1 on your monitor as well, just like on TVs. If you dont have that option which most previous monitors apparently did not then you might not be able to.

      If it has a refresh rate over 120hz using an HDMI cable and has HDMI 2.0 or higher HDMI port, yes. Do note that many monitors which advertise 144hz+ refresh rate can only achieve this rate using a DisplayPort cable instead of HDMI. Most HDMI to DisplayPort adapters don’t work with Series X and the adapters that do are expensive.

    Hey so I have a 144hz monitor and the series x but I run through my elgato! Is there anyway to get the 120fps instead of 60 whilst using the capture card mate?

      And when I click on the 120hz refresh rate in my Xbox settings my screen goes blue and says HDMI NO SIGNAL

      Yes unfortunately I had the same issue when using my elegato. The issue In my case is my elgato can only handle up to 60hz. So I have to down grade to 4K @60hz.
      It’s probably not your tv/monitor that is the issue. Do you know what the max is for your elgato?

    • @ThreeFirstNames
      @ThreeFirstNames  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Point is I’m not sure even if you downgrade to 1080 at 120 hz if you can do that if the capture card doesn’t allow for it.

    Kinda sucks that it doesn’t allow you to have variable refresh rate when you make these changes

    I tried this but when I go to play my screen glitches like crazy.. not useable at all. So is it because I have it plugged into my capture card and not my Xbox ?

    Idk why but i have a smart tv 4k "QN55Q7FAM",i tryed the tips but it's not working for me,my screen turns black like you but afterwards, it say that the TV has lost the hdmi signal and when it reconnects on its own I always stay at 60 hz . I tryed a lot of time with different resolution but not working ,can you help me pls?

    Hi I'm very confused. My Hisense U6g says it runs 4k@60hz on the HDMI ports but after over-riding settings on my Xbox, it allows me to select 1080p@120fps. The tv also confirms it. I notice better responsiveness when I'm gaming at 120hz but I'm not noticing much of a change visually, like I did when moving from 30fps to 60fps (night and day difference). I'll like to know if this is the true 120fps my TV is running, as I have never before experienced that refresh rate so I don't really know what to expect.

    What about if u have a tv with 4k, but only 60hz? I have a Samsung tv and the manufacturer told me I could run 120hz 4k with the game mode they have and an hdmi 2.1 in the eArc hdmi port.

    My monitor only supports 75hz, I know I won’t be able to see all 120hz but I wanted to at least see 75 FPS whenever I play games like fortnite and madden,but whenever I try to switch it from 60hz my screen goes black and says my monitor can’t support it, do I just have to buy a better monitor?
