      A lot of manufacturers u have to cut it in half like Samsung has motion 240 which is actually 120hz so if I says 120hz most likely it’s a 60hz. Why and how manufacturers do that I have no clue. I just went with a c1 with 4 Hdmi 2.1 ports

    Also want to add... when buying a 120hz TV make SURE its not 120hz interpolated. This is a marketing trick that manufacturers use to trick people. Some TVs will advertise 120 to 600hz and arr really only 60hz native the rest of the "hz" are useless to actual frames per second and are called interpolation. Make absolutely sure you buy a 120hz NATIVE panel.
    On top of this, most Series X games do not have a 120fps mode. 120fps is gonna be common next gen, but its very niche this gen. Most of the games that do have a 120fps mode sacrifice resolution heavily to achieve it unless its a very easy to run game like Ori.

      no next gen does true 4k 120. Its all Downscaled. Sea of thieves only runs at 120fps in 1080p on a series X.
      You need HDMI 2.1 display that supports VRR to get the best expierence.

    Hi I'm very confused. My Hisense U6g says it runs 4k@60hz on the HDMI ports but after over-riding settings on my Xbox, it allows me to select 1080p@120fps. The tv also confirms it. I notice better responsiveness when I'm gaming at 120hz but I'm not noticing much of a change visually, like I did when moving from 30fps to 60fps (night and day difference). I'll like to know if this is the true 120fps my TV is running, as I have never before experienced that refresh rate so I don't really know what to expect.

If I change the input on the TV to allow Dolby Vision and change the Xbox refresh rate to 60hz it will allow Dolby Vision but not gaming or movies at 120hz obviously. I'd like to view movies in Dolby Vision but is there a difference between using 60hz vs 120hz in movies? I can always keep it set at 4k, 120hz, and use HDR10 but wondered if there would be a benefit to switching back and forth. Seems like a pain though. Thanks for the video.

I then uncheck allow 4 k because on the Xbox one x you had to do this if you wanted to us 120hz. But if I uncheck allow 4K on my Xbox series s it won’t let me use hdr anymore. But if I leave allow 4K on checked then hdr still works at 1440p 120hz mode. I still have the option to go to 120fps mode on gears 5, is this ok? im a little confused how XSX 120 Hz mode works, ik that for most games itll still be 60FPs @4K, yknow, considering even a 3090 cant get 120 at that res on alot of games, but does it lower the res and then upscale, like FPS Boost/Nvidia DLSS does or is it true res, thus the reason that most games are still capped @60 FPS unless you have FPS Boost active.

    • @cqllel5186
      @cqllel5186 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's not how it works lol. Refresh rate is purely visual, it will not impact your performance in game. However, the average 4k tv is 60hz, meaning you can only see up to 60frames. Going higher than 60frames on a 60hz screen will cause screen tearing. If you want to play at 120fps, you're gonna have to buy an overpriced TV for the same price as a car, or just get a PC monitor during black friday
      And yeah, 60frames will look blurry compared to 120frames, so technically you're right. BUT, the higher the refresh rate, the more frames that can be displayed in a second, the more cleaner and smoother the image, the less "Blurry" it is

      Make sure you have your HDMI plugged into the right one that has 2.1 or 2.0 switch your tv to HDMI 2.1 or 2.0 and then switch to 4k that's what I had to do

      Yea. Have to make sure you have the hdmi 2.1 cable in the 2.1 input. Not all 4K TVs have this input. So hopefully you’re good to go :)

      Well I’d imagine as long as the specs are there you should be fine but I don’t technically know.

      Hmmm. Guessing the games aren’t made for 4K 120hz yet.

      means you have 3 - 2.0 hdmi inputs.

    When I click 4K tv details, it says that my tv supports 1080p at 120fps. But everything else is in the red and I’m only getting 60fps. Can someone help me out??

    You don't need a 2.1. 2.1 is for future games.

      While you’re correct for non 4K 120, IF you want to play 4K @120hz you do in fact need a 2.1 hdmi.

    Is there anyway to get 4k and 120 hz or do you have to choose between one or the other does anyone know?

    • @ThreeFirstNames
      @ThreeFirstNames  ปีที่แล้ว

      If your tv is able to do 120hz in 4K then yes you def can do that. The settings in this video should accomplish that for you :)
      If you have a monitor it may be a bit trickier. I have a video on that which has helped some.
