      Tried for Viotek GFT27DB. Does not work. Tried some different things, was able to get settings to select 1080p at 120hz. Showed on OSD and Xbox settings but when in game (Fortnite) capped at 60FPS with the 120 setting turned on. Will MICROSOFT come out with some update to accept the weird “timings” or do I need to get a new monitor? 😔

      Same monitor. Works on all 120hz enabled games. Just make just sure you have the right adapter. The monitor has a 1.2 dp. So you need a hdmi 2.0 to dp 1.2 adapter, not a cord. Extra power is needed for the bandwidth going through.

    • @ChringyTechTalk
      @ChringyTechTalk  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well, they have HDMI 2.1 which is the future for HDMI standard and supports 4K 120Hz. Problem is, TVs are just now launching with HDMI 2.1 and monitors are on the way...so we were just a little ahead of the new launches. It would have been nice for them to include DP for compatibility though for sure!

    I don’t know if this has been addressed. Some monitors have a cut off HDMI 2.0 (100hz), DisplayPort 144hz, if you ran the adapter what will trigger the effect to 120 hz if the series X, doesn’t allow you to toggle between 60 to 120 hz. I’m referring to a Dell S3422. In theory it sounds good, their manual says otherwise.
    Dell monitor gets up to 3440x1440p, also in theory people don’t want to shell out 💰 for monitor/tv every time a new console drop.
    Thank you for bringing this to the forefront and calling attention to it.

    Please respond to this, how is the input lag on your monitor with FPS games? I’m aware that even though some monitors say 1ms respond time when in reality it has nothing to do with input delay/lag

    • @TheGarfield1337
      @TheGarfield1337 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Response time actually does not have much to do with input delay as you mean it. Response time of a monitor describes how fast each of the display crystals can react (respond) to a change of color. What and how fast you will actually see this will always be limited by the refresh rate. With a response time of 1ms this would mean the liquid crystals can change their color 1000 times per second but the monitor is still only able to produce 144 (or less) pictures per second. Response time does not matter that much! Hope that helped

      No, it needs to be an active adapter in order to convert the signal.

    I literally had to go buy a Elgato HD60 S+ cause it’s pushes out 120. And I’m using a Omen 27i 1440p 165hz. I can only get 120 hz on 1080p on my series x. I’m so confused I don’t think I need this adapter. Cause I’m streaming as well but my DP still doesn’t let me use 1440 120 on Xbox.

      Can you get 1440P 120Hz without the Elgato, just going Xbox straight into the monitor?
