The Zontes G1 125ccm has a 20l tank and a range of nearly 1000km.
breathtaking...
Impressive, but not a really well known bike and you need to ride very efficient in the right conditions to reach that 50km per liter. In reality you are looking at 35km per liter at least so that would mean minimum 700km range.
So I'd say 800km out of every full tank is reasonable, it's a 125cc so you need to give it throttle to actually move forward...
Also for a normal 125cc street bike I'd rev the shit out of it to get those 15hp as often as possible and not care too much about fuel like I do with my Suzuki GSX-R125. It ain't exactly a problem refueling a 125cc, you'll likely not ride it empty in one trip, and if you are you'll find a gas station since you are on the street, so 20l tank is adding a good amount of weight to a weak bike.
@@eirikaustad7580 agree, ~700km. Also, they even do not paying attention to the tank volume in their ad video on the site. I guess, most likely, it's just styling feature - bulky tank.
@@tomekvilmovskiy6547. My partner has got one, and she easily gets 500+ miles range. She often rides it at 70mph (the speed limit in the UK) to achieve those numbers.
I did a 2-up + lots of gear 3850 km tour on my 2019 FJR1300 this summer and it averaged 22.5 km/L = 4.44 L/100 km / 63.5 imperial mpg which with its 25 litre tank gives a theoretical range of 562 km / 349 miles per tankful.
Left off the list was the Suzuki DL650 V-Storm with a 5.3 gallon tank, average mileage of 57.4 mpg, so a range of 304 miles.
You forgot the V85TT.
Moto Guzzi v85tt shoult have been on your list… 23 liters and 4,5 l/100km
The Moto Guzzi V85TT gets a 23L tank and fuel consumption is around 4,5L/100km so around 510km range.
My air-cooled Honda CB350 in India (sold as GB350 in Japan) has a 15L usable tank and returns 42kmpl regularly when touring (I keep it cruising at 80-90kmph, this being India). 600+ km range.
Considering the Triumph Scrambler 400x, for next year when it comes out, for a bit more power.
Where is the Honda NC750X?
I was about to type the same thing...
My AfricaTwin AT only goes 270 miles on a tank. To get to the figures quotes you'll have to go 20 mph until empty
The conversion between consumption units is simple but not one that most would be able to compute accurately in their heads!
Divide either consumption figure (l/110km or mpg [UK gallon]) into 282. (Actually 282.481. Use 235 for US gallon [actually 235.215]).
eg. given 5l/100km consumption.
282/5 = 56.4mpg.
And back again: 282/56.4 = 5l/100km.
I use a mix of metric and imperial units but I can’t get my head around litres per 100km although I get that your viewers are worldwide. But at least mpg was included in the summary table 🇬🇧
Now send that list to Suzuki, so they can compare it to the Katana... 😄
GS 1250 giving more milage than Africa Twin?
I have a GS1250 (2021) and friend has AT DTS (2022) and it's always been opposite, on road or off road.
You probabky don't get this there, but check out the Zontes ZT155G. A 150cc street scrambler with a 20L tank, rumoured to have a range of 1000km. That's way more than any bike I have come across.
I have a Zontes G155 for two years now. Runs great, fantastic quality and runs forever in it's 20 liters tank.😊
We have the same bike in the UK, but it's a G1 - 125cc bike. It does have the same engine but it's detuned so it's learner friendly at 15bhp. My partner has one and it's a great bike
650 VStrom easily achieves 4L per 100km is you don’t go silly and with the 20L tank is up there with the best of them. I ignore the not so great fuel gauge on mine and set the trip meter on fill-up and go to 400km, and guess what, it takes 16L every time.
Nice Vid
Will u make a vid about the CBR600rr update in Japan with Euro 5 Emissions so it should be coming out world wide 2024
You missed the Desert X with the OEM accessory fuel tank (21+8L).
I'd like the real world fuel economy figures from your previous videos v claimed for the bikes on this list. It would be of interest if you can do a real world fuel economy leader board (similar to Top Gears fastest lap board) for the best to worst fuel economy for each class of bike. So after you do a review, you can also at the end place the real world economy as a comparison. That would be awesome. Thanks.
Google "Fuelly".
You missed all of the Moto Guzzis... V7 has a 21L tank and 4.3L/100km
Maybe weird sticky out cylinders freak people out?
And v85 with 23 liter tank and nearly same consumption
I suspect the Italian factory doesn't pay bike journalists kick-backs for comments...
@@viennapalace yeh, I wonder if there's a subconscious bias with particular media people sometimes...
@@bluefoam Maybe they just aren't ugly enough because that could have been a list of the ugliest motorcycles of all time & without the sound turned up, I wouldn't have known the difference... 😅😂🤣
30l tank on my Multistrada 1260 Enduro so almost a 600km range. Not new but hard to beat... (not sure if the new V4 Rally is comparable)
I get 5km/100km from my Pan Am, pretty happy with that, and I can get 400+km when touring. The best range bike I had was a Moto Guzzi Le Mans MkV, it had a 24lt tank, 4/7km//100km and gave me 510km range, unfortunately is was not suitable for long distance riding with it's sports riding and suspension.
could have given it in UK MPG, how many litres to 100km means nothing to almost all, if not most UK riders
Back in the day Honda entered Indian market with a bike called CD 100, 100 cc bike which use to go 70-80 km per litre... It made hero-honda partnership no. 1 company for almost 30-40 years...
what kind of listing is this?
What about nc750x dct doing 3.5L?
Let's compare the range calculating on the engine displacement... here we have 125cc compared to 1250cc, and it's OK, but what if we compare, for example, bikes from 1000cc to 1200cc (more or less, you decide, of course), that have the same function, I mean, adventure with adventure, naked with naked, tourism with tourism, and so on. I would think that can be interesting. Thanks for the video Motobob.
i agree🤝
My SWM Gran Milano 440 has a range of 520 km on one tank of 22.5 litres. But i suppoos only the big manufactures are being reviewed as usual. The small brands never get credits.
Hero Splendor and Bajaj Platina 🗿🗿
The world is slowly catching on to Indian bikes.
You can make 580kms with no stops? 👏 200kms high way is what I can take, and I tour regularly..
Did you consider the Ducati multistrada V2S? I just made a 1200kms tour, mixed roads, consuming 4.8l per 100kms with a 20l tank!
if you're riding not so popular ways there are places were you can't get gas, so a big tank makes a difference.
You have to see Bajaj CT 100
mileage:-90km/L
Tank:- 10.5L
The Honda cb125f with its 11 litre tank and consumption of 0,15 l/10km should get you a range of 700km or 435 miles.
Ps. I wrote this comment before watching the entire video 😅 Ds.
but IRL you'll get ~500km.
@@tomekvilmovskiy6547 that would be determined by your weight and driving style 😉
@@patricksandeberg8184 there's no options in driving style with 10hp if you wanna live )
@@tomekvilmovskiy6547 😂👏🏽
@@tomekvilmovskiy6547irl I get 800km+. Not kidding.
what about the reiju trail bike 600 miles
I had africa till 2021, and very hardly you can get below 5,5l if you riding gentle (on B-roads).
Now with my NC750x model 2021, I can do 390kms with 13l of petrol (the tank is 14,1). - I am talking about gentle riding on B-roads.
In terms of performance, fuel consumption and quality of riding, the NC is unbeatable machine.
Have you heard of bajaj platina
NC 750 X ???
2.9 l/100 km
retirement half-scooter.
The Suzuki 800de has a 20L tank and 21km/L. And it's true, I have it. Theoretically she does 400km with a full tank. In reality she does more 370.
All those bikes they don't really do the max L/KM when you load them and you pass 120km/H.
I really like the Suzy.
I am surprised to find on my 2022 Harley Davidson with 18.8litre fuel tank, 1925cc and over 340kg weight , by riding close to legal speeds I have done over 410klm on 2 occasions without running out.
The World Raid is very tempting, but I wonder what real world economy is like with some bags and hills to climb. Thanks for the video.
from autobahn to offroad, TET and backroads. However i ride mine, i fuel up at 300 miles and normally there is 2-3L left in reserve.
I get 56mpg average with off roading and hills from my worldraid
for anyone ever gonna listen to me, a motorcycle in India called Splendor by Hero Motocorp can do 715 kms on a single fuel tank. But it isn't quick because it has a 97cc engine and is just a commuter bike
my 125 returns a milage of around 55km per ltr with a tank of 14 ltrs. 750+ km range in real life
managed over 200 miles on my little 14 liter mt09 tank was very suprised
Great video, Bob. In my years on bikes it seems that, unlike cars, manufacturers’ claims on fuel consumption can be bettered by a decent margin. My 1200GSA LC was capable of a real world 67mpg, my ATAS DCT ES a bit less and my KTM 890 over 70. It’s worth doing some real world testing to see what’s possible which might help in this anti-car/bike world where the eco zealots seem to rule the roost. Cheers, Ian
Maybe we could discuss why everyone slated the humble Suzuki Katana for it's small fuel range ,then raved over the Ducati V4 Streetfighter with even less range and costing double the price 🤔
Hate to take my new Honda CB125F (2023) off the top of the list but I consistently get:
47.5kpl
giving range of 522k
2.1 litres per 100k
(mostly open road riding).
Ha ha... now you know my handle. Your bike is still at the top as far as economy goes unless you count 50cc bikes.
Have to say it is astonishingly good. And will even run at 94kph on the flat with no luggage, 84kph with a giant holdall of camping gear strapped on. That's flat out.
It’s efficient for sure. But that’s all the fuel it needs when it makes no more than 10hp. But the question is, how long will the motor last if it’s running flat out all the time? 30,000km? 60,000km? I don’t know, but definitely less than a motor which is cruising at half of redline
My new 2023 cb750 hornet averages over 70mpg
A Pareto Analysis should have been better with power on one axis and range on another.
Meanwhile Bajaj platina and Hero splendor and iSmart owners watching this video and laughing 😂
Do a list of the top 10 bikes with the worst range, I bet the Tuono V4 & Yamaha MT10 will be up there
A desert x with the accessory fuel tank can go further than some of the bikes of this list
My motorcycle with a fuel tanker following me can go farther than that.
Honda 500's figure is conservative. If I stay off the highway, I easily get 3L/100km. Even more if I go real slow like 60kmh all the way.
One time I go full tank to reserve and got 500km, that's about 40km per L, but damn it's boring going so slow, the scenery better be worth it.
Having 125cc carb yamaha, 3l/100km on 70-80km/h.
Don't believe injector and other optimizations can cut it to 1.5.
To 2-2.5l / 100km more likely.
upd. googled. that's right: people say 2-2.5l consumption IRL.
Probably. These manufacturer figures are usually misleading.
honda sp125 in india costs 86000 ex show room ..nd u guys will pay 3k ??? crazy
Ever heard of Bajaj Platina 100..................it has a mileage of 90kmpl irl
Big surprise that the BMW RT and GS have identical fuel consumption.
Again the versys1000 does not get a mention
Moto guzzi v7 850, 4,5L average, 21L tank
those 125's are great.. if you are staying under 80kmh and not revving the absolute balls off of them... which, to even get them moving you have to do.
Not fair, called the attention with premium bikes but the nº1 is a working bike. Then the Boxer 150 of Bajaj dominates all the spots.
Kove 450?!?
You should visit India someday as we have 100cc bikes that can take you as far as 1000kms in a single tank of petrol!!.. It can give an average of 80kms/ltr & have 12-13 ltrs fuel tank 🤷♀️
After 150 miles I need get off the bike to stretch my legs so the extra weight is an added penalty for me not a bonus.
What bout the splendor 😂
Bro!??? No mpg really?!?!?
You know what's funny? I get 800km+ on my cb125f
Nice
My 300 scooter got stolen recently and I have a long commute, getting longer soon - this video has been pure wallet porn.
Be nice if mentioned which bikes need premium fuel “cough BMW”
*lord splendor* - Ameture's
Bajaj platina ranges 800 kilo meters 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
My Moto Guzzi Stelvio gets 320 miles from a tank of gas
It would be nicer if you did MPG for those of us who live in the UK.
I am a previous owner of an F850GSA. No way does it do anywhere near 340 miles. I used to go about 240-250 miles until well into the reserve. R1200GSA - I maxed out on 320 miles riding all day like a nun. I know these are WMTC figures but several bikes on this vid are much, much worse on fuel than suggested. And honestly what’s the point comparing one bike with 125cc with another that has an engine ten times the size???
A Toyota Yaris hybrid uses less fuel than 90% of these “efficient” bikes 😂
You’re list should have been broken into categories by style of riding and engine size. Your choice for #1 position is underwhelming
Hero Splendor (India) laughs in 80+kmpl
The fuel numbers are so fake!
Platina 100 cc 🔥.... 95 Km/Litre
if you're fine with 50-60km/h )
@@tomekvilmovskiy6547 Only For Small Towns 😂
I bought a 2023 Indian FTR ralley and it doesn't even make it a hundred miles before i need to fill up. Dumbest motorcycle ever. I go on local rides with my friends and i need to fill up 2 times and nobody else has to at all. I'm going to sell it next spring.
No Moto Guzzis?
Aren't they ugly enough to make the list?
Bajaj Platina world's most fuel efficient motorcycle 110cc engine more fuel efficient than the Honda 125cc
hey English guy, perhaps English standard measures? WTF is with the metrics?
Whatever happened to mpg?
I ate it 😋😋
who cares
The rest of the world evolved
No one cares
The rest of the world suffers less from chauvinism 😘🌞To be fair, rocket scientists and other bright people in US/UK also use metric system. Let's praise that at least most in the world use the hour scale and date system👍, although some countries can even mess up that 😭😘
Shame the BMW 1250 GS is damn ugly.
You are taking theoretical factory data, that is useless. Like in your chart the 1250 GSA claiming almost 400 miles????? NO. In the real world as a real rider I get 270 or so miles, I can stretch it to the 300 range. This is a useless video with no real data.
