    I started on a Ducati Scrambler Cafe. The bike just called to me with its looks and after riding a BMW 310R, a Rebel 500, an R3 and then the Ducati I was most comfortable on the Ducati.
    It was just effortless on starts with the extra torque of the 803, and didn't have the gearing issues of the others where you are pushing 5-6k rpm at 60 in top gear. It was essentially brand new so I have been keeping the RPMs down until the first oil change/service and then I will open it up more as I grow. Instead of starting smaller and getting tired of it.

      I agree with most of that. Just really don't like Motojitsu. He too often takes a riding technique for a specific type of bike and presents it as for all bikes. As a current owner of 2 different styles and a regular rider on a 3rd, I know that to be bad advice or even dangerous in some cases. I use different techniques(even opposing techniques), depending on whether I'm riding a supersport, naked, or cruiser. I've been riding for 20 years and have ridden just about every type of bike at least once. After watching a couple of his videos, I quickly questioned his knowledge of riding various types of bikes. I would never generalize riding techniques the way does. But I agree with the rest and their reasons. I would agree that Yammie's videos are usually much more entertaining than the others as well.

    Owning the tuono 660 is just more fun on the street than I can really describe. That amount of power and pull down low makes boring traffic or mundane routes seem like an event. I don’t really understand being unable to keep yourself from twisting the throttle all the way on a bigger bike as I had no problem just tooling around on an rrrrr1 (for 5 minutes before I was in a lot of pain) but I don’t need to worry because now it’s rewarding to do that rather than deadly. Yep, put one for 10 to 20 year old bikes (for many of the 600cc and 1000cc bikes they have fuel injection starting from 2001-2003 depending on brand, and nobody wants to tune multiple carburators, let alone 4 all at once...)
      I can sometimes find a decent GSX-R or R6 bike in that age bracket for around $1500 to $2k. I don't see the need to spend a whole lot more for not much difference (at least until they start doing carbon fiber frames, but thats not common yet)

Could probably go for something a little bit better but it's what I've settled on cause I want something with some more power but that will be more manageable than a 600 and especially a 1000. Grew up riding, but hadn't ridden anything but a quad in yrs til I picked an old cb400. Ride that for a summer then jumped to a Sportster "48". Still have the HD but wanted to go with a sport bike. Went new with an r3 didn't want second hand headaches. Love the R3 but wasn't sure if I was ready to jump to bigger bike. Found a 97 FZR600r Genesis. Used that to acclimate to a mid size bike. As far as 600's go the precursor to the R6 is an animal. Now ready to go to the next level will probably get a 15 or later from a dealer. Like the riding position in the R3 but a lil more leaned forward should be fine. What should I go for?

    I'm ready for another bike but I'm torn between a Honda Navi, because realistically, 95% of my driving will be the 2 miles to work and back, and something for cross country touring which I may do every couple of years. I ain't driving to Key West and back on a Navi, and a Goldwing is out of the question for a 5 minute trip to work. Throw short height into the equation and there is no perfect bike for me. Open for suggestions.

      my advice would be to get a 765 but don't get an RS. you can save some $ by getting the R and I'm loving mine. let a couple of my buddies who have super sports (one has a ninja 600 and the other a Gsxr 750) ride it and they were shocked at the power of it. such an incredible bike. either option, you wont regret it.

      I have a 2019 Street Triple R 765. I fitted it with a full Sc project exhaust. It is so good. Get the 765. You can pick up used ones with low mileage relatively easy. It’s harder to find an RS for sure. But I prefer this over an MT09 100%. It’s not as torquey but the handling and smoothness/sound makes everything worth it.

    • @AntaresSQ01
      @AntaresSQ01 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mazdaahh the 765 is a deceiving bike. It has great power it feels like it pulls like a 1000 until you look down at the speedo and se you're only doing 70-80 where you'd be at 110-120 on a 1000. I have an S1000XR and you can literally sit 1 handed with visor open at 140, the 765 was tearing me off using my body as a parachute at 100. This is a good thing for a fun street bike though, makes you feel much faster yet still at legal speeds. The XR you can't feel the power unless you're above 130 with the screen down or the front wheel is coming off the ground in 3rd and 4th.
