HOW I TIE MY CURLY HAIR UNDER A HEADSCARF

  • When I first started praying I was desperately trying to find videos on how to wear and protect curly hair under a headscarf. Now that I am more experienced I would like to share my way of wearing curly hair under a headscarf. I really hope this reaches at least one person who struggles with this issue like I did!
DISCLAIMER: Even though I do wear a headscarf whilst praying, I do NOT believe it's mandatory for a Muslima to cover her head/hair when she goes outside. I believe in the opinions of Muslim scholars that say: In the holy Quran, God says Muslim women have to be modest, cover their bosoms and lengthen their outer garments. May Allah guide us all! ♡

Thank you! You are literally the only person actually showing how to maintain curls under hijab. Many videos suggest braiding or combing it into a bun which just destroys curl pattern.

I tried this but because i live in Indonesia, it's really hot & uncomfortable 😣
I understand why the t-shirt material of the inner hijab has become common here. But, i'm wavy/curly hair even though I use mukenah (use hijab only a while) my hair that I had style become flat 😭
The two alternative is silk surgical cap and idk silk bonnet look like turban. Both of them is so expensive for me than normal inner hijab.

    • @Sarelly

Thank you! I use shampoo and conditioner from Cantu and always make sure to moisture my hair afterwards. I like to use the Cantu Coconut Curling Cream but other leave-ins would be fine too as long as they get the job done. If you'd like to protect your ends more you can apply coconut oil or other oils to moisture them even more- preventing breakage is all about keeping your hair moisturised! I hope that helps♡

    • @Sarelly
      @Sarelly  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

Salam! I personally wear a headscarf when praying because there is a hadith that says a woman's prayer is not accepted if she does not cover her head whilst praying. Since this hadith only applies to prayer and not to the way a woman needs to dress in public, I don't wear it outside. Like dr. Shabir Ally explains in his video: We wear different types of clothing for different levels of worship, just like we wear different clothes during hajj.

      @@WRAPEDINSILK
"As to the first verse, the question is what is khimār/pl. khumur, and what did the khimār intend to cover? Many scholars have argued that khimār by definition is a piece of cloth that covers a woman's entire body and is drawn upon the face, so in effect, enclosing a woman's entire body in a veil. Many others have argued that a khimār is a piece of cloth that covers the hair and the entire body except for the face. However, in my view, and God knows best, both schools of thought-that which contends that the khimār covers the face, and that which contends that the khimār covers the hair but not the face-are ahistorical in presuming the existence of an historical practice that has not been proven. The evidence that the khimār in pre-Islamic Hijaz covered the face or covered the hair is simply not there. The only thing that the verse allows us to say conclusively is that Muslim women were called upon to draw a piece of cloth (khimār) over the juyūb (bosoms)-whether it covered the hair or the face, we don't know. In other words, the Qurʾan in this verse calls upon women to cover their bosoms. Anything beyond that would require extensive research into the social practices of khimār dressing at the time of revelation, and the historical evidence is far more diverse and complex than many contemporary scholars assume it to be".

Do your own research don’t listen to only one personne/scholars/teacher there is so much science and contents specially in books, TH-cam is good for reminders but not to learn our beautiful religion. May Allah guide us all in the right path and give us ability to understand with ease. Amin

Sister, with best intensions, making volume of your hair or using a scrunchie is not permissible. There is a hadeeth of the prophet ( Peace be upon him ) where he said, that tying hair like a camel hump (meaning to tie hair in a high bun) will be amongst the people of hell fire.
Therefore, Its best if you dont add volume to your hair.

Yall this is my unbelievable story about the hijab
Read this if you have hope❤️
So I was born with a heart syndrome named “hypo plastic left heart syndrome” it’s basically where you heart is halted bc the other half cannot generate properly. The doctors told my parents what will basically happen to me as I grow up and one of the things we’re not being able to grow out my hair. This is because my heart won’t be able to pump blood properly. And my hair Didn’t grow. When I was 0-2 years old I was bald. 3-5 my hair was like a boys. 6-9 I had my hair just below my ears. I didn’t care about my hair at the time so neither did I care about how I looked. My hair stayed in this position until I started wearing a hijab which was when I turned 10. I never really cared about my hair and wasn’t paying attention to how much it was growing. I kept my hijab on for nearly 2 years but when I turned 11 I started my period, and I wasn’t worried because Iv heard of this stuff but until one certain week my persuaded were very heavy. This went on for 2 weeks and we went to the hospital. The doctors said they do have tablets that can stop this but if I take them it will stop my heart as I’m under another tablet to keep my heart going for my syndrome. So there was nothing they could do about my periods but they could give me tablets that kept my energy levels normal and my iron up. My periods went on like this for a year. It was very tiring and during time went on I kept fainting and feeling absolutely warm in winter and I was scared of what would happen in summer. My parents told me that we need to go to the doctors. The doctor told me my head is getting to warm and she started talking about a head warming thing... it had a special name but I forgot. She told me that my head is warming up because of the hijab. Now don’t call her racist or somet like that because she was a Muslim too and was wearing a hijab like I was. My parents told me to take my hijab off and that it was because of my health. Only for school tho. The next day it was a Thursday and I refused to take my scarf off. But I fainted again and my parents told me it was for my own good and it won’t be bad and that it’s for my health issues. The next day I took my scarf off. By the time I was 12 and my hair was always in a bun and I took it out. I was shocked. So we’re my parents. My hair was longer than my sisters and mothers. It was just above my hips. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I bought if never have long hair and I knew it was the hijab. How else would have my hair grew 12 inches in a year???? Now I am 13 and my hair is half way down my butt (I didn’t wanna day that) and I still keep my hijab on. Just not in school. And I don’t put it on tight and I don’t wrap it around my neck or head I just lay it on my head and my hair is growing tremendously fast and I don’t do anything to it at allll. Nothing like rice water or tuff you will find on internet. I don’t use heat like straighteners or curlers even hair dryers. ❤️ I’m so happy. I hope I reach my desired hair length

Like I mentioned in the description box, I believe in the opinions of Muslim scholars that say a Muslim woman does not need to cover her hair. This video is for those that only wear it during prayer as an act of worship or do choose to wear it outside of the house and want some tips to protect their curls. But thank you for the compliments! :)

Hijab is mandatory Allah said in the holly quran (و ليضربن بخمرهن على جيوبهن) Khemar in the arabic language means the head cover and allah is saying to cover the breast area with the head
you can say that you cant take the step to wear hijab cuz we are women and we like to show our beauty and by the way I dont wear hijab but I confess its mandatory and I know that I will wear it some day when I grow a little bit older I would advice you to ask a religious man or woman

Salam dear sister, the owner of Quran Centric (the first link in the description box) replied with this under his video when someone said something similar like you:
      Salam,
The customary KHUMUR was used on various parts of the body and not just a headcover. Non the less, it is not our place to extrapolate something that which God hasn't said.
God does not say to place their covers over their heads and 'extend' to their bosoms.
The verse tells us the objective of the KHUMUR (covering) is to 'change the situation/appearance' (YADRIBNA) of their garment openings (JUYUBIHINNA). We can not think that God implies both covering head and chest.
