INSANE Driving Skills Narrow Streets || 550Hp Lancer Evo HillClimb Monster

- The spectacular Lebanese HillClimb Championship started this weekend at Wadi Chahrour and the Overall winner of the event was once again legendary racing driver Roger Feghali with his Lancer Evo VI Proto tuned by Motortune. Powered by a 550+Hp 2.0L 4G63 unit fitted with quite the aggressive Anti-Lag system, and making the most of the iconic Japanese Chassis and All Wheel Drive system, this is a true display of agility and precision of both driver and machine.

Big difference between 550 at the crank in a big RWD lug of a car vs 550 at the wheels with a flat curve in a lightweight awd monster :)
We're all so used to quadruple digit drag monsters and drift missiles that we forget how much mayhem a man can cause with 500 full-grown ponies at his disposal.

People focus generally on hp. Weight on the other hand is just a forgotten thing.

The wonders of clever diffs, lots of low end torque and ALS fitted Turbocharged powerlants ;)
The evo 4 onwards had the ayc active yaw control which basically figued it out for you with minimal antilock for slides
the EVOs AWD system corrects for slippage and grip loss so its not really that talented, if you throw an AWD driver in a FWD car you quickly realize how much AWD corrects and compensates for the drivers errors.
Its called proper handbrake usage.

You know, I absolutely love the usual hillclimbs through the beautiful european hills but these urban races are the most hardcore thing you can do in automotive racing. This is so unbelievably spectacular to watch!

500 horsepower is more than enough for these roads hehe 600 IMO is the maximum.
Modern cars are generally way too heavy, so you see larger power numbers to compensate and more focus on drag racing (especially in the US) rather than handling. Good power to weight ratio in a lighter car like this gives the most fun driving experience IMO.
Now there is a driver in-tune with him machine! Smooth =Fast!

Start the video at 1:46. He enters the blind corner at high speed and realizes he is too hot when he is exiting. At 1:49 he brakes hard and perfectly adjusts the car. Great save.

I think people forgot how much power 550 is, dependent on the car 300 hp is generally rapid. But there are plenty of people who only drive in a straight line so they think everything under 600 is slow… Americans
I reckon it comes down to power-to-weight ratio. Also, high peak power means nothing if one can't use most/all of it most of the time.
