I was just thinking about you riding the CFMoto 450 MT, and I opened YT this is the first I saw. Just wow! Hahah! Thank you for making this... I am really looking into getting this motorcycle, it's affordable and packs a lot of features and based on countless reviews it's pretty good beginner bike. Awesome video, sound and visuals as always! ✌
CFMOTO has come a really long way. I was at my local dealer and they still had a cfmoto 700cl-x they couldn't sell. There is nothing wrong with their older models, I just never found their Kawasaki clone engines appealing and a lot of people think very negative on these bikes because they are Chinese. They see less of the older cfmoto's in their shop than they do their honda and yamaha customers with brand new bikes. It is insane the bang for buck you get with these newer models and engines. I'd love to ride a 450mt to compare it to my KLR650 and I'm also excited for their 675 Triple sportbike that's coming out!
Once CF moto gets past that made in China stigma, if they can, they'll sell more bikes. People start posting vids or reviews on bikes with high milage and good reliability you'll see more of them on the road. Problem is when this happens their prices go up and for a bit more coin you can get a bike from the big 4 Japanese brands.
Chinese bot, stop pushing your bikes here. I work in a place that sells them and services them! When our contract ends, will never get any chines bikes again. We sold 18 450mt, of that 18, something like15 came back for warranty claims and not one, but few times and they are new bikes. We also sell hondas, not one came back! Out of lets say 100 kawasakis 1 came back for something minor, cant remember. Royal enfiled had few in about 50 sold, nothing major, mostly battery. I'm so happy that someone good at bike reviews like you has finally reviewed this bike, and the way you lean on that tall bike with thin tyers on the corners ... OMG you're a pro.
It's crazy how quickly CFmoto is getting better, from lackluster Kawasaki copies so some real appealing bikes, they're the first to put a 270 crank in an A2 parallel twin, and comparing the sound of this to a Ninja 500 it's no contest. That new 675 sport bike also looks a lot more appealing than the Triumph Daytona 660 does, and it's cool they're dabbling in small inline 4's and retro sport bikes with that 500 voom model. The only gripe is that the dealers are further away than those for any of the Japanese brands, and no new bike can match the value of a used Japanese bike.
The 450MT is basically a KTM, the engine and gearbox were developed by KTM and would have been intended for the new 490 Adventure with more power. The design comes from the Austrian company Kiska, which also designs all KTMs.
Great riding! And great review! I've been keen on trying one of these all summer, but they sold out immediately..! I love the gearing as it seems you can hoon it without driving like a maniac 😄 And I'm all for the "More fun to drive a slow bike/car fast than a fast bike/car slow" ehtos.

It seems that the big orange brand is heading in the right direction in terms of quality by producing more and more bikes in CN🤣 i recently learned in Czech KTM stands for "Každej Tejden Motor" ~ "Engine Every Week" in England: 'Keeps taking money' and in Sweden it's "Knuffa Till Mål" - push to the finish line. 🤣🤣🤣 but still I love´em
hahaha i didn't know that other countries have a special translation for KTM, here in Greece we say "Κάθε Τετάρτη Μάστορα" which translates to "every wednesday to a technician"!
I tried it this summer, but unfortunately my knees hit the side panels in an annoying way, so it wasn't for me. Otherwise it seemed like a good bike. Ended up with a much more expensive Tiger 900 Rally instead.
I’m thinking about adding one to bridge the gap between my 1250gsa and 500 excf. The front end seemed to hold up in hard braking ok but I assume the fork was compressing a fair bit. You certainly gave it a hard time for a 21” on dual sport tyres. Hard to argue with the price here in oz anyway.
I think CFmoto is good, most owners i encountered rode the 800mt and they all loved it. Even i am considering the new 800MTX because the 890 Adv-R is just too expensive.
You mentioned it's the tires that are the weakest link that kept you from getting your full experience with it. but what about for everything else (on road) that isn't aggressive riding? It's good though that tires are replaceable. also I found that they released an update that helped smooth out the fueling a bit too.
It's good. Wind protection is barely there and damping comfort sucks. But apart from that it'll work great for long distance touring. It supposedly is very reliable as well
i love the sincerity. And yes, cfmoto does spend very little in terms of tires (even my 450 nk has awful ones) but i personally thinks that is because the A2 licence bikes from cf are targeted for novice bikers, that "usually" dont lean that much so they don't need expensive tires. I have done 2500 kilometers on mine and i feel that this tires don't bring justice to the machine itself. anyway beautiful video :)
I don't even know if it's morally OK to buy ANY new motorcycle. Basically all of them use components (especially in the electronics department) that were produced in low-wage countries. It's a good all round bike for an attractive price (in UK £5700 so about 6700euro - I don't know the price in other markets). Despite it not being very light, it is reassuring off-road for a low level amateur like me. The weight is carried quite low. Tyres are definitely a weak spot. They're not terrible though. I am trying to get some value out of mine on the road while I wait for upgraded bash plate and rally seat before doing more off-road miles.
Nope, you can't buy it, the 2024 model is sold out everywhere. They'll produce a 2025 model but with stricter noise restrictions that come with Euro 5+ 😢
At least it sounds good...:) But to be fair, CFMOTO in general does a good job with engine choice and design for the most part and I don't necessarily see them as the "cheap KTM" in the future.
This bkke made in my town. Cf moto new engine is pretty good after they co operate with KTM. this 450 engine is sounds nice. Cf moto quality improved fast. I think its quality can achieve some Europe bikes level. but should not as durable like Japanese bikes.

I have owned a 300SR before for London commute and would be happy to have another CFMOTO. Love the look of this thing. For the price swapping out for better tyres early after run in would still be worth it IMO. I am keen to add this to my garage as a bit of easy to jump onto local run around and for a bit of off road fun and not expect too much for the price.
