THE BEST REVIEW YET!!! I have seen a lot of CF Moto 450 MT videos and reviews and this is hands down the best, most comprehensive review yet. Well done.
Yes, I'm kinda crossing that thought myself. Something in the garage has to go but I fall in love with them and can't. My wife says not one more. Hmmm. Decisions. But yes this is a great one. But then again the Himilayan is also so good. This is finally a wonderful time for small adventure. Great to hear from you.
Ian, it will be interesting to see your opinion on this bike, I own a Tuareg and on paper it doesn't look like enough weight savings to justify and you lose cruise control but for the money it seems really tempting....
As a 22 year old rider, I appreciate your comments about price accessibility. I think one of the reasons why there's so few young people in this niche is that it seems so expensive from the outside. Those of us who are already into it know that it can be done cheaply but on the surface all you see are these $15k+ bikes with an additional $5k in luggage and farkles.
I've been watching this channel for 10 years and don't think a bike has ever been discussed here with this level of enthusiasm! I'm definitely considering one of these.
After watching Dave’s video I was inspired to take one for a test ride at a dealer today . I have ridden for over 50 years and I must say this little bike has a lot of bang for buck , I was very surprised how capable and such a torquey little motor . Dave’s review is spot on and the quality of the build is excellent. I think the big OEMs will be sitting up and taking notice of this bike . It’s very lightweight and carries the weight down really low , in my humble opinion and experience I reckon it’s a 9/10 straight out of the box 5 stars 🌟
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV yes Dave everything you said about it is spot on mate . Actually I can see it across 3 demographics The entry to intermediate The intermediate to advanced as after market kits become available The advanced guys of older years with bigger heavier bikes wanting a smaller but still very capable bike mate It ticks all boxes Dave
The traditional manufacturers have ignored this market long enough. To their own detriment. Honda could have easily put out a 450 adventure and likewise KTM with their 690. Their sales are subsequently going to be gobbled up with this 450 product from CFMOTO. Good review boys.
@@craigbrighton3026 I don't think we've heard the last of Honda. Time will tell. Don't ignore the 450 Himi, that's another great bike. Don't ignore my Husky 501 Rallye build! :). You're right it's going to eat into the traditional manufacturers.
Test rode one a few ago. Agree 100% with your review. Pressure is definitely on the other manufacturers to bring smaller/lighter affordable adventure bikes to the table.
Just put a deposit on this little girl as a stable mate for my 990 . I've never purchased a bike I've not seen, but In this case I made an exception. Getting your sign-off was a big part of the equation. Been following you guys since the mid 2000s when I got my 990 (my 1st "dirt bike") and loving watching you grow as a channel and business. Thanks for the years of fun, valuable and honest content. Cheers from the mountains of Utah. Come out and ride Moab with me.
Great Video of the CFMOTO MT450! I love this bike! I ride it two times and fell in love of the simplicity...it has enough Power for all adventure....nice greatings from Austria 🇦🇹
I've always appreciated your insights. I don't feel like I'm being upsold on something just so you can get on another press tour. Thank you for your integrity. Cheers!
Interesting stuff, just sold my T7 because of the tall bike. I think the bigger companies are going to have to listen , we wanted a smaller 450 rally bike but they never produced one
Great video mate. Been looking forward to this one for a good while now! You've put it through its paces considering the limitations of those stock tires. I reckon for my weight, that suspension will be just right with the ability to adjust it. Looking forward to Clubby's build and you gents getting back out on the trails again! Yeah, I'm a bit tired of the old argument about weight. I've got the Himmy 411 and she's sitting around 203KGs (with mods, etc) and its fine on hard technical trails. The 450MT sheds about 5-8 kilos, gets more power and features. That's a win to me (excited to buy one). Its all about weight distribution and how the bike handles it. If people are worried about weight, don't ride adventure bikes and get an enduro bike. You've always been the voice of reason in motorcycle reviews. Keep doing what you are doing!
I have owned mine in the UK for a few weeks now and absolutely love it, I sold my Tenere World Raid as it was just too heavy for me, the 450MT is all the fun but without the weight, the only thing I have done is fit a 15t front sprocket as riding to Wales is much more relaxed and I am riding mainly fire roads, still on the original tyres but they will change as winter draws in. I was lucky to see Dave's talk at the ABR Festival, what a true legend, happy to speak and have photos taken with everyone, I hope you come back next year, but I realise it is a major trip.
Would love to come back to ABR next year if they'll; have me. I can understand the sprocket change in those conditions. I reckon you've made the right choice.
@@markuswormann8852 I changed my sprocket pretty much as soon I got the bike so I comment on any change, but I am keeping MPG records. With just over 1200 miles on the clock I am averaging between 71 to 73 mpg. Cruising is much more relaxed with the 15t front sprocket.
@@tuanoful No issues at all, I went to change the air filter after 5000kms in the dirt and the airbox was spotless. For comparison the Norden 901 I was travelling with was filthy.
@@JimmyQuince Thanks for the reply. I've owned two chinese bikes before and they were so horrible. I am wondering if this brand is good and nothing like the others. Can you share more info about your experience with it? I Don't want to drop 6k and regret it :S
A question for those people concerned about the revs. Are you used to small capacity twins, especially if you are coming from a larger capacity bike? These bikes love to rev. I had a 300 Versys and for the first 6 months was scared to look at the tacho. 7k revs at 100kph. But I finally got used to it and realised that Kawasaki had actually got it right. I tried a larger front sprocket. It sounded right, but really killed the performance.
I'm hearing the review but it's still a leap of faith for this manufacturer...... they're better this year than last. May they continue and thanks for the review. Enjoy
I saw a kid selling one of the 300cc Amazon bikes & one of his selling points was that he'd taken all the bolts that were lose & tightened them....lmao, I think he paid about $1800 & after tightening/replacing bolts along w/ whatever else he claimed, he only wanted $2200 & then tried to explain why it was a deal? IT's got nothing to do w/ you or your vast knowledge, you've already forgotten more than I'll ever know but each time I hear these bikes in a review I automatically think about that Chinese bike. I do know they are getting better so that might turn into something down the line? I don't even own a bike yet so I'm learning when I come.... thank you for the video & your time Sir. peace
This is the first video I've seen in your channel, and I loved the video! Gladly subscribed :) Excellent production, entertaining, and super informative. Thank you so much, and keep up the great work.
Thank you so much for such a great review on the 450 MT. I noticed you did not mention the KTM 390 Adventure in comparison. I sold my T7 and purchased the 390 and I'm really enjoying the bike. For me the T7 was a bear off road, being that I ride solo most of the time and struggle to pick it up.
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV I am writing from Turkiye, In Turkiye suzuki vstrom 650 xt and ktm 390 adv 10 K dollars , cf 450 MT ' 10.4K dollars. What would be your choice?
I’ve been back and forth on this and the new Himalayan. My local dealer sells both brands 😳 I imagine my wallet will be lighter pretty soon! Been on a CRF 250L for nine years and this class of bike fits the bill.
Appreciate you guys have a much bigger adventure scene than the UK But must say I'm very disappointed that there has only been around 100 bikes given to dealers so far we are told that another 100 will be coming in the new year They have taken lots of deposits Let's hope they sort themselves out before people move on to the next new bike Nice review 👌
Comprehensive and honest review thanks. I`m waiting for the 25 KTM ADV 400 so I can trade up my 24 KTM Duke400, I`m very pleased with this 398.63cc machine, now it`s time to hit the trails.
Buena toma de contacto, no sois tímidos con el gas, así me gusta, dándole fuerte para ver exactamente lo mal o bien que va y por las palabras vertidas, la diversión ha sido máxima, una moto excelente, con un precio inmejorable. Thank you for all.
This bike will be launched in Nepal in a couple of weeks. Might trade in my KTM 390 ADV for this. What a timely review. The thumbnail rocks! Thanks Dave.
I wonder if there will be Rally Raid supsenssion upgrade for this bike. It would be nice to have slightly more suspenssion travel and ground clearence.
Dave, much appreciate your excellent, in depth review...I have promptly struck the subscribe button and will look forward to your future assessments of the 450MT. I have my hard earned money on deposit with my CFMoto dealer here in Oregon, USA for about 8 weeks now and waiting..somewhat impatiently. Additionally, I have jettisoned 4 motorcycles in the last 3 months as I expect this machine to replace them all. Here in the Western U.S. we have wonderful off-road options but I needed a blacktop capable moto to get me there. I am fully planning that this bike is the answer. By the way, I was impressed and inspired by the way you picked up the MT at 5:05 of the video...After all there will be the inevitable dirt naps.....
The best bike reviews on TH-cam (along with Big Rock Moto). I'm torn between this bike and the Royal Enfield Himalayan. They are both excellent bikes for the money.
We got two - very very happy with them. Weather's been crap, but once the sun comes out we're biking! I totally agree, the bikes are awesome, plenty power for what we do.
Thanks guys great review on the CF Moto 450 MT I really like it as a return to riding I've had big bikes in the past but like you this really has it all only things would be higher seat and better Bash plate underneath man it's just a great price too at the end of the day 👍 😉
13700kms on a Versys 650 , including riding in at least three gigantic storms around December January , not one issue , no rust , no camshaft failures . Ridden it on backroads , mild dirt roads , mountain passes and motorways , plus city riding . Looks like new still. Wonder how this 450 CF moto will be shaping up after 15000km or so? And how long it might take to order any part ,and actually receive it ? Because the supply issues in Australia are gettting worse even for Japanese bikes .
Ok you've done your Versys add. It's early in the CFMOTO's history but we'll find out very soon. Frankly I know which bike puts a smile on my face and it ain't the Versys, but it is reliable.
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV for the price I couldn't pass it up, could have one today but want to give my local mum and pop shop the business. Have a Supermoto for being a hooligan, the 450mt will be my anywhere anything bike
Very good review. I've now ordered the B&B bash plate, thanks for the recommendation. I changed the front sprocket to a 15T to reduce highway speed revs. At 6k rpm it now sits at around 110kph instead of around 100kph. And yes, initially I could feel a very slight drop (but negligible) in acceleration and torque - but a bit more twist of the throttle it's there - you don't really notice it and when off-road the torque remains just fine, I haven't had to change down a gear to compensate. I think it's worth doing the sprocket change just to reduce the highway speed revs - and with the added benefit of a smoother throttle for low-speed off-road maneuvering. Would be good for RE to provide the 450 Himi for 6 months on the same arrangement as CFMoto - a true head to head 6 months journey. Even though I think you can't go wrong with either bike.
I have been really looking forward to this review. Unfortunately I missed the live(ish) premiere. I have only ridden the 450MT on the road, and I was quite impressed. It was stable, (really) smooth and had a wide powerband. I thought it was comfortable and well made too. So, I have been really looking forward to your full (offroad) review. You definitely gave it a really good/tough test! I am even more positive about the bike now. I thought the bike was a little snatchy down low. Apparently, that has been improved with a software update. The front brake did need more bite. But, it has 4 piston JJuan brakes. So, it should be possible to improve them. I am interested to see how your bike mod goes. The next time you go past, that kangaroo will be 7ft tall and demand a toll.
Great review Sir Dave and I enjoyed watching a lot of your videos specially those Himalayan travels and was so surprised you went here in Philippines !!! I'm always expecting new vid3os every time I hit your channel!! Dreaming of a beautiful helmet (with your sognatures + MAD Sticker) this Beer-months if you're granting wishes🙏. God speed!
Thx for the bush orientated review. The cash is going down for the ibex450 next week! From a Aussie expat, this is the Unicorn ADV I've been waiting. The dealer say they have first US bound bikes due in September. I'm hoping to snag a high front fender grey one and then immediately get 70% dirt/30% tires (Motoz). Thanks again for the push to action. Cheers
I missed a couple of things that I actually commented on and filmed. The side stand foot needs to be extended and the frame is old style, which is good, in that it supports a whole range of after market soft and hard pannier racks.
Thanks for the great review! If budget is not a question. Currently riding a Husky Svartpilen 701, thinking about moving to ADV bikes. I am wondering if I should go for a T7 for it's proven pedigree as a good all-rounder, its power, and dirt capabilities. Or, if I should start building-up my adv skills with a lighter/lower center of gravity bike like the CF Moto 450mt? I plan on riding 50-50 high-way and dirt, sometime for 3-4 days camping trips. I am tempted by the CF Moto 450mt, but I am wondering if I will regret it coming from a 700cc bike
Absolutely great review! For a beginner adventure rider (which a bit of road bike experience) would you say this bike is better than a Ténéré (if the price is irrelevant)? I tried the Himalayan 450 some days ago. It was great fun off the tarmac. However, being used to an SV650, it felt hyper slow and boring on the road. So, I thought that the Ténéré might be better, since it wouldn't feel as boing on the road. However, I'm worried that the Ténéré isn't a good choice for an off road beginner. What do you think? Thanks!
Depending on your size and strength and balance I'd lean toward the CFMOTO to start your off road career. You can always get a T7 later as they are always for sale.
I perceive this bike as small adv, what I mean: 1. fairly priced, budget friendly. 2. the minimum cc to have a decent travel speed above 100km/h (110-130km/h) and have some room if needed to overtake any vehicle on the road, 3.off road capable (suspension 200mm travel, 220cm ground clearance, 21" /18" wheels) its not dual sport and its certainly isn't enduro but its close to a dual sport on the off-road part but more capable on the on-road than a 300cc dual sport, the seat height for taller ppl sux but there the bigger seat, fuel consumption could be better, weight could be lower BUT what other options are there similar priced and in the same category? I would say not much... RE is one.
Bloody great video and review as always fellas - i have no idea why manufacturers are dead set on supplying what is basically a tin bashplate - just use plastic, it is cheap, light, quiet and slides - my 500 exc still uses the standard plastic plate and i have done 10k hard miles on it - just use bloody plastic. For me the low mudguard is 10x the better look, shame they didn't do the adjustable like the T7 but hey, the only real issue with this bike i see is the fact they have built too few and are now hoping hype keeps peoples money safe until stock arrives, here in England we are talking 8mths wait....That may lose them a lot of cash
The motorbike guru has spoken! From all the reviews, I appreciate your take, the most. Based on your review, I can see many jumping off , one particular side of the fence, finding themselves riding into the sunset, on the Cfmoto 450mt. Apart from your upgrades, allow me to add better disc brake pads, changing to braided front brake lines, to address the front brake weakness. And, finally, maybe new rubber. And, your adventure unicorn steed is complete. As for long term reliability, at that price, might as well risk it.
I think it is a risk worth taking as to reliability, but we will soon see. Your remedy for the brake may be a good one. We will certainly be looking at that.
great vid guys, i soooo hope you guys do the himi 450, i want to buy one, i am just debating the tubed or tubeless version. also its maintenance intervals are longer then the CFmoto
I really enjoyed the review. I'd like your opinion on how it compares to a Rally Raid CB500X. Both bikes have a parallel twin with similar power ratings, and the dimensions, weight, and suspension travel are all very close to the same on both bikes. How do they compare offroad? More importantly, does one bike feel more top heavy than the other? Thank you, Dave and Clubby.
You and me both! There's some miles being clocked up on these bikes now. So if there are gremlins there they will emerge shortly. I have a feeling they won't. Time will tell.
Love your channel!! How does the Cfmoto compare to the Little Red Rooster with its moods! Thinking about Honda and now the Cfmoto. Your channel rocks best on the interwebs !!!!
We will have the CFMOT long term and Clubby owns the Honda, and I own the 501 Rallye and then we have a Himilayan long term so lots of time for comparison
Great review. Very interesting about the warranty … I wonder if that conflicts with Magnusson-Moss in the US. I have not seen one in Colorado either on the road or at the dealership; I hope there isn’t undue gouging when they finally arrive. Almost certainly will add one next.
Dave, as always a great review. Isn't it great to see a twin cylinder small capacity ADV bike - kudos to CF Moto. An earlier post commented that 'it seems the unicorn has been born'. Your reply was 'Getting close, not quite there'. What do you think CF Moto need to do to make it the Unicorn?
A couple of things to make my unicorn. Imagine an R version of this. 260mm suspension back and front fully adjustable, the more sophisticated Borsch EMU 6 axis system - lean sensitive traction control - no pulsing in the front brake I mentioned, decent bashplate and soft pannier racks - drive away. I don't think that's too much to ask. Maybe this might be what KTM bring to this bike, when they finally release it. :)
Great video and comments 👍. I,ve tested one MT today and I enjoy it a lot!. Only downside for me is that stock suspension settings are too stiff, but it was a short ride and dont have time for adjustments. Can you share with us wich settings do you prefer and your weight?
I rented the motorcycle during an off-road training. It is a light motorcycle, agile, beautiful finish and apparently high-quality material. In my opinion, there are two important points of attention: long-term reliability and service intervals. For long ADV journeys, an interval of only 3000 miles/5000 kilometers is simply too short. The interval has to be at least 6000 miles/10.000 kilometers. For the time being, I look forward to (your) long-term reviews and the reliability of the bike.
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV looking for your test and the experience with the (short) service interval. IMO it is a underrated and so far never (cleary) addressed. For me as an 'Overlander' it could be a reason to not buy the bike. Despite loving this Chinese. For now, I will ride from Perth UK to Perth Australia on my reliable and beloved Honda AT 2017. Maybe we meet somewhere down the Aussie-road.
Great review. I've just sold my much loved Husky TR650 Strada and whilst this has much less power I think it might be a good solid replacement Certainly it will take me further than my Super Adventure (not an R) as the smaller size will be much less intimidating
Thanks for this video. I'm looking for my next bike after the Himalayan 411. Not sure if this one will fill the bill, but I hope we get this into the states.
Does the 450MT feel significantly smaller/lighter than a T7? I already have a T7 which is a great adv bike, well-balanced and has more grunt but not much more weight than 450MT. T7 is fairly big/heavy for an intermediate rider like myself though, so is a wrestle in the tough stuff. Is the 450MT good enough to justify selling the T7, or are they not that far apart? I'd love to see a side-by-side comparison in a future review.
I was only riding my T7 today and I couldn't help but notice how big and top heavy it felt compared to the 450MT. Don't get me wrong. I love my T7. It has it's place. But for intermediate riders taking on the tougher stuff I think they would be happier with the cfmoto.
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV Cheers, I am lucky enough to also have CRF300L, great daily commuter that's so much more manageable and confidence inspiring to push in the dirt on weekends. I love the T7 too, mainly bought to get into some longer rides, but I'm a bit wary to ride it as hard as I want to.
It's very handy, much lighter than the KLiM and better breathing. It's about to get a big test as it's going to the Darwin to Broome BMW Enduro Safari with me in two weeks.
I'm debating between purchasing the 450MT or a V-Strom 800DE. Having watched your vids on both bikes I'm still not sure! What are your thoughts comparing the two? I'm guessing offroad focus = 450MT, road focus = 800DE. Would I be missing out on much road capability going the 450MT?
@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV yeah point taken, I guess it's really a question back to myself about what category and associated style of riding to go with.
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTVI say that because the Kawasaki x300 Versys and the BMW 310 GS and the Honda CFR 250 Rally kind of came in first then the Enfield 411 and KTM 390. I think the CF Moto & Enfield 450 just kind gave us what we been asking for. 😊
It seems a great bike but I think it needs a switchable map it seems a bit peaky for the bumpy bits a bit to responsive. I really would like one of these bikes
Finally someone mentioned the distance between seat and foot pegs, I think that is a very important factor on a bike specially for taller riders but almost nobody like to mention it during their reviews, Good thing that the bike is not very tall so that is good because you can accommodate a taller seat Cheers
Bought mine pre-ordered. Took a leap of faith as I wanted an all round bike and LAMS compliant ( I never felt I needed my open license even when it was restricted to 250cc here in WA ). My last ten years of riding has been mainly on an enduro so I did feel the weight, but not while riding, unlike the KLR 650. The Cfmoto add ons are very well priced. Tall seat is only $200 and has saved my bum and made me keen to ride. I have the tall screen ( I found the standard had the air buffeting my helmet too much ). Bought a Rad guard radiator guard. Side stand wider foot, bark busters ( already broke the standard ones ). I have the up rated CFmoto bash plate ( not fitted yet ). Still waiting on crash bars to arrive and rear brake fluid protector. I just need to get my kms up and have the first service done then this spring I'll be camping off the bike. So to me this will be my do most thing bike. Thanks for the air filter info, I will at least get 2 pre-filters.
In the ergos section you didn’t say how tall you are. I’m 6’4” and weight similar to yours (93-ish kg). I would like to know if taller seat is going to help me or not
Great review Dave. I have always thought CF moto might be less quality but for the price and the fruit on this bike it looks, sounds and rides good I am heading out for a tester on this I was leaning towards Himalayan but this might just sneak ahead. Looking forward to your bigger ride on this.
Very attractive package indeed.. surprised to hear that you reckon the Enfield is a little more off road capable.. I am looking to get my Mrs’s onto a bike and seriously considering one of these… however in South Africa they are not available.. Rumours have it that there are guys aiming to re establish Royal Enfield here🤞 Thanks again for the infotainment 😎👍
I tried rotating the bars forward on my 450MT but quickly discovered you cant rotate the switch clusters to compensate for rotating the bars forward because they dont clamp on the handlebars but instead have a little plastic pin that goes into a hole on the handlebar so they are effectively fixed in place. I love the bike but taking time to getting used to the engine braking on throttle off, makes it very difficult to keep smooth in low speed traffic - I really hope somebody at some point will do a map that keeps a little bit of gas when off the throttle to smooth this out - one thing I would say though is that either im getting used to it or its getting slightly better as its getting run in (350miles of 600 atm) - great review thanks!
It sounds like you have the old engine map. You can upgrade it with the app. Talk to youe dealer it's an easy fix. Mine did not have that problem. It's a fuelling issue that has been fixed and was a problem for first bikes.
Appreciate your knowledge and entertaining style. Great review boys👍 Over the Honda 300 you’d ride The Himalayan 450 as a global traveler. Any comparable thoughts for CFMoto as an all around traveler?
Good one. I bought the MT450 as an dirt capable adv bike. My fixed up Rally 300 is the dirt bike. The 7000 rpm at 120kmh (8500 red line) is not as easily discounted by me. Taller 6th gear should have been fitted. Yep skid plate is paper thin. At 75 kgs, with zero preload up front, it's still stiff. Rear is great. The front brake also has this "free, no pressure building" initial movement. Rest is great, hope it will hold up well.
@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV When removing the skid plate, I suggest u install a strap between the two metal support/mounting "frame" tubes. When removing the front bolts, the frame springs out a couple of cm. You can damage the welded on nut plates if u don't. Also I suggest early oil change/flush. At 300 km, my oil did not look all that good. No metal, most likely clutch material. 15t front sprocket drops rpm about 450, bit yes the bike looses some acceleration/fun factor. We have 2 450s, riding back to back it's a noticeable difference.
Putting my order in this week, took one for a ride this weekend, was surprised how light and nimble it actually feels, yeah i agree about the front brake, and smooth too. Found the himmy to be a bit vibratey, which i out down to being a single, compared to the parallel twin on the mt
I love this bike. But every time I think about selling my 2007 BMW X-challenge (with the suspension fixed) and 4+ inches more suspension and a 40+ lbs lighter I stop. Yes this is a better road bike but I ride a lot of off road like you were. Decisions. This bike sounds awesome though!
Could you make a himalayan vs cfmoto vs 300 rally vs KLR discussion video?? Curious to hear your thoughts on KLR and 300Rally now there are 2 new kids in the block
Got mine 2 weeks ago in England it revs to high in 6th gear at 40 mph choppy throttle aswell front brake not great, but I'm so impressed with this bike quality is superb motor superb , only 50 of these in UK at the moment I could possibly make money selling it but I'm keeping it, it is a fantastic little bike ❤
Also like to add trying to find a 15t front sprocket for this bike in England but even the cf dealers are struggling to find 1 , any help would be appreciated guys ❤
Choppy throttle is an easy fix with the app. Ours did not have a choppy throttle. ^th gear a preference thing, but the second you get into tight dirt you don't want it higher geared. Front brake is crap.
I really want this bike, but I need an 80/20 (road/dirt) in reality. Also, no mention of a light front wheel (steering) as I've heard in other videos. That would concern me on roads and traffic.
I have a 390 Adventure that I rode from Tassie to Cape York including Creb track and old Tele track. Loved the Cfmoto 450mt when I test rode it but don't think it would be as capable for me off road as my little ktm. Ktm 390 definitely feels lighter when the going gets tough. Cfmoto 450mt definitely better on road though, and is a great package.

@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV yes Dave everything you said about it is spot on mate . Actually I can see it across 3 demographics
The entry to intermediate
The intermediate to advanced as after market kits become available
The advanced guys of older years with bigger heavier bikes wanting a smaller but still very capable bike mate
It ticks all boxes Dave
@@davidmorgan6367 Sure does.
I agree.
Thanks mate. As you know I think they are a great bike.
Great Video of the CFMOTO MT450! I love this bike! I ride it two times and fell in love of the simplicity...it has enough Power for all adventure....nice greatings from Austria 🇦🇹
Couldn't agree more! Thanks for sharing.
I've always appreciated your insights. I don't feel like I'm being upsold on something just so you can get on another press tour. Thank you for your integrity. Cheers!
Thank you. I appreciate those comments. We do our best to provide honest accurate advice.
Interesting stuff, just sold my T7 because of the tall bike. I think the bigger companies are going to have to listen , we wanted a smaller 450 rally bike but they never produced one
They've got to be looking now.
Thanks Moto! Many riders just don't understand weight.
@@davidz8 What about fuel consumption with the new sprocket? Any change to notice?
@@markuswormann8852 I changed my sprocket pretty much as soon I got the bike so I comment on any change, but I am keeping MPG records. With just over 1200 miles on the clock I am averaging between 71 to 73 mpg. Cruising is much more relaxed with the 15t front sprocket.
Got nearly 10000kms on mine after taking it to central Australia

@@tuanoful What Chinese bikes usually have issues ? I bet you've never had anything to do with any of them. stop swallowing internet rubbish.....
Great points. Thanks for posting.

Yes, everyone says it's heavy, but it's all low, hence ease of picking it up. good luck with your purchase I think they are a great bike.
This is the perfect size bike for me. This is huge win.

Thanks guys great review on the CF Moto 450 MT I really like it as a return to riding I've had big bikes in the past but like you this really has it all only things would be higher seat and better Bash plate underneath man it's just a great price too at the end of the day 👍 😉
We have this as a long term bike and we've commenced building out ultimate CFMOTO so stand by for more content. Currently waiting on our Rally Seat.
Cant wait for mine to arrive in the next 2 weeks! Great review!

I suspect in the tougher dirt that I was doing I would prefer standard gearing, but we will try it during our long term review.

If you are not familiar with the dirt start with a small capaicy bike with low seat height.
awesome - i loved the revving in the background haha
Glad you liked it!
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV What makes the CFMoto the better choice? The weight difference is only 10 kg or so.
@@stefanhansen5882 The t7 is significantly top heavy
RE is one.
Yeah I'm with you on most of that. But I believe it is a dual sporter and would make a good commuter.
Great thoughts about the bashplate. Yep supply maybe an issue.
Great video. Looks a good bike. I was really willing you to get out of that rut. Well done!

Nope CFMOTO way in front on many areas particularly for the dirt end of the business.
Great review as always, itll be interesting to see how it all pans out. Very promising!

Great review. Very interesting about the warranty … I wonder if that conflicts with Magnusson-Moss in the US. I have not seen one in Colorado either on the road or at the dealership; I hope there isn’t undue gouging when they finally arrive. Almost certainly will add one next.
They are a great well valued bike, but I'd strongly urge to also look at the Himalayan.
All very 'doable'. If they delivered something like that it would be an absolute cracker. Here's hoping.
Love your reviews Dave. How does the Transalp with the suspension modes compare to the MT?
CF better for my weightl
Great video and comments 👍. I,ve tested one MT today and I enjoy it a lot!. Only downside for me is that stock suspension settings are too stiff, but it was a short ride and dont have time for adjustments. Can you share with us wich settings do you prefer and your weight?
You didn’t listen to the video got to chapter on suspension
I believe I would have bought this over my T7 if it was available at the time i purchased my bike, mainly due to seat height. Great review thank you

Nice to see the bike on a bit of single track 👌
Nearly every other 'off road review' is riding down a dirt road you could easily do in a Corolla 🙂
I agree
I rented the motorcycle during an off-road training. It is a light motorcycle, agile, beautiful finish and apparently high-quality material.
In my opinion, there are two important points of attention: long-term reliability and service intervals. For long ADV journeys, an interval of only 3000 miles/5000 kilometers is simply too short. The interval has to be at least 6000 miles/10.000 kilometers.
For the time being, I look forward to (your) long-term reviews and the reliability of the bike.
So we have it long term and we've got a big ride for it in September.
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV looking for your test and the experience with the (short) service interval. IMO it is a underrated and so far never (cleary) addressed. For me as an 'Overlander' it could be a reason to not buy the bike. Despite loving this Chinese.

Pirelli STRs which are a similar pattern to what's on it, just more grippy compound in wet dirt.

Great review. I've just sold my much loved Husky TR650 Strada and whilst this has much less power I think it might be a good solid replacement Certainly it will take me further than my Super Adventure (not an R) as the smaller size will be much less intimidating

We have just received a Himalayan 450 to test.
When you go single tracking why are you not folding the mirrors in? Great vid. Supposed to pick mine up this week!
I could and usually do, just didn't bother.
If you were going to pick one for off road and upgrade suspension on 300 rally aside from power which one would you puck?
Too close to call. Personal preference my friend.
Great run down. Thanks.
What tyres are you running in this vid please?
Standard tyres. We will be upgrading to more off road biased Pirellis.
How are you liking that Leatt jacket? I’ve been eyeballing it and am curious about the venting.

That's comparing apples and cheese. They're no nearly in the same category.
@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV yeah point taken, I guess it's really a question back to myself about what category and associated style of riding to go with.
So how does this stack up against say a Kawasaki x300 (old originals so to speak) do you think Kawasaki will throw the 400 ninja engine in
No idea. I don't have any experience with the Kwaka.

I'm not sure where you're finding peaky in that engine watching it. The engine is excellent.
Front brake. Curious to know how many km on your demo? Popular consensus has been the feel and bite improves noticeably with 500-1000km on it?
1500 ks at end of my test. Remember we have this one long term so l'll watch it closely.
great video.
I hear a lot about the throttle and fuelling being very on off and not having a good or precise control.
What’s say you!
That was an old fuelling map. It has been fixed and is available on the CFMOTO app. We did not experience snappy throttle at all.
Finally someone mentioned the distance between seat and foot pegs, I think that is a very important factor on a bike specially for taller riders but almost nobody like to mention it during their reviews, Good thing that the bike is not very tall so that is good because you can accommodate a taller seat
Cheers
Thanks.
Tall seat is $199 from CFMOTO. So that's a bargain right there. Not an issue. Tall screen $149 🎉

Thanks for providing your real world view on this bike as an owner.
In the ergos section you didn’t say how tall you are. I’m 6’4” and weight similar to yours (93-ish kg). I would like to know if taller seat is going to help me or not
We did speak of height I am 178cm tall
Great review Dave. I have always thought CF moto might be less quality but for the price and the fruit on this bike it looks, sounds and rides good I am heading out for a tester on this I was leaning towards Himalayan but this might just sneak ahead. Looking forward to your bigger ride on this.
We also have a Himi coming because the two are neck and neck.
Very attractive package indeed.. surprised to hear that you reckon the Enfield is a little more off road capable..
I am looking to get my Mrs’s onto a bike and seriously considering one of these… however in South Africa they are not available..
Rumours have it that there are guys aiming to re establish Royal Enfield here🤞
Thanks again for the infotainment 😎👍
Both very good bikes. We'll have more on the Enfield Himalayan soon.
Excellent mate I have the blue and white!!Epic bike for riding in northern Peru dirt roads⚡🌊🤘🏽😎🤙🏽
Agree. It would love that.
Same deal straight off the show room floor. Himi and CF RTWers straight off the showroom floor.
Great to hear from an owner. Thank you.
Yes, I was impressed.
It is excellent.
Could you make a himalayan vs cfmoto vs 300 rally vs KLR discussion video??
Curious to hear your thoughts on KLR and 300Rally now there are 2 new kids in the block
We will do some comparison in the future. But maybe CRF300, Himi, CFMOTO, BMW 310, Husky 501 thrown into the mix for fun.
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV thanks guys, that'd be great
Got mine 2 weeks ago in England it revs to high in 6th gear at 40 mph choppy throttle aswell front brake not great, but I'm so impressed with this bike quality is superb motor superb , only 50 of these in UK at the moment I could possibly make money selling it but I'm keeping it, it is a fantastic little bike ❤
Just change the sprocket to 15t and upgrade the brake pads to elig this bike will be superb
I really want this bike, but I need an 80/20 (road/dirt) in reality. Also, no mention of a light front wheel (steering) as I've heard in other videos. That would concern me on roads and traffic.
Did you watch the video right through. I rode it in suburbia a stack. That's crap about light front wheel. I would be a great commuter.
Bike I reckon sounds like a Ktm aswell. I can't get over the cheap price and It actually looks good to.
Great review 👍
It really is!
Outstanding review
Thank you kindly we put a lot of effort into this one, because it is an important bike in the adventure landscape.
Great review, would like to know how it stacks against a 390 Adventure considering it lands at a similar price point.
I think the CF is going to be the replacement to the 390. I have no inside information but it just makes sense.
@@nickthebear-i8k Thanks
great review, well "chinise" work well the are in moto 3 and moto 2, but forget this the question to a milian dollars is , do you make a big adventure with this bike ?? i hope you guys do. 👌👌
We will be in September
