You've done some bloody brilliant maintenance stuff on your 100, makes me very pleased to see someone putting time, money and effort into maintenance before other stuff. How do you rate the AK49s? I'm doing a full front suspension refresh and decided against going for angle stuff just yet (mostly due to cost and additional complexity), but I am wondering if the AKs are something I should put on my to do list. Cheers from Australia!
Also, you should grab a new coolant overflow tank. Yours looks like what mine used to look like, chalky and badly yellowed. Mine ended up disintegrating in the corner and I had a fairly large hole, best to replace it before that happens!
Currently saving up for either a Mark II or a Cresta. I'm just not sure which one I should get. I like the comfort and the interior features of the Cresta, but I prefer the exterior of the Mark II. I would be happy with either though. I'm looking at Japanese car yards rather than the auctions, more expensive certainly, but less chance of a bad buy, also comes with better consumer protection, even when importing. Your Mark II is looking great, definitely some exterior issues to deal with, but the interior looks fantastic. Best of luck with it!
Cresta and Mark II interiours are pretty much identical and are interchangeable. So if u prefer the Mark II exteriour, get a Mark II and just change the interiour to your liking.
Cresta is more of the luxury version of the jzx 100 chase, you have the mark II wich is the base model and finally the chaser wich is the sport version There is no big difference between them so it’s up to you to choose they both look and drive good
Hey man, the 100 is looking great! I have another question about the skyline. Did you stay with stock brakes? I have 350z brembos on mine… reason I ask is because I’m planning on running a similar spec wheel as you but I’m worried about brake clearance. Any insight for me?
I got my grade 4 non turbo automatic mark ii grande with 60k miles for 7500$ super clean and low miles. But expect to pay 5-7k for a 1jzgte motor like his if you choose to swap.
It depends on where you source it from. Auctions are potentially cheaper, but run the risk of getting a pile of garbage. Getting from Japanese car yards is more expensive, but they are likely to be in better condition and have better protection for the buyer. I'm looking for one right now myself, and the prices through car yards are anywhere between $10k upwards to $15k USD. Pricing is dependent on manual or auto trans (manual more expensive) or displacement and induction. There are lots of 2000cc variants that are going for cheap, so be aware what kind of engine and trans you want.
Love the Mark II ! Can't wait to see more content on her. You done a great job on bringing her back !!

Thank you for the kind words! I personally like them, they are comfortable even for a daily driving. Makes U turns much easier when needed lol.

Great taste, you own a car that has great history and that many others have chased to emulate on other makes and models by other manufacturers.
Quick question.. for maintenance do you have a go to for parts.?I have a 97 celsior and it's hard to find parts

For the Skyline, I’m running the stock Sumi breaks. My rears clear fine being low disk, but my fronts needed a 10mm spacer being med disk.
in 2024, this car remains the best looking machine 😍😍😍😍😍😍
i have about 7k saved looking to get a rhd car what would you recommend was looking into r32 gte sedans but those are pretty hard to find in the US
7k will get you maybe a delica. 15k would be a good start for n/a auto r32’s
Is it better to just save for a gte motor or turbo the na version of the 1j?
Save yourself a whole load of stuffing around and just get one with a 1JZ-GTE, but of course, that comes with extra cost.
How much would this cost in todays price?
