BMW M3 E30: The Car That Started It All For BMW!

BMW needed to produce and sell at least 5000 road-legal units of BMW M3 E30 to compete in Group-A series. Which is when BMW released the E30 M3 in 1986. They needed to sell these 5000 cars within a year.
This car was based on the BMW E30 3 Series platform with certain modifications. BMW E30 M3 featured sportier suspension and aerodynamic upgrades. Which gave it a sharp handling in corners. With a perfectly balanced chassis.
Because of weight savings, this car only weighed 1200 kgs. It was powered by a BMW S14 engine. This was an inline-4 2.3L engine with 192 hp And just a simple 5-speed manual gearbox.
BMW E30 dominated in the European Touring car championship and in DTM. The E30 remains a cult classic and probably one of the most iconic cars ever made.
To this day, the E30 is considered as one of the important cars for BMW. This car started the legacy of the BMW M3 which we see even today almost 40 years later.
