- RazoRock (www.italianbar...) upgraded the HAWK razor line with a stainless steel offering. The HAWK line is RazoRock’s offering in the Artist Club style blade category. In addition to the upgraded material offering the stainless steel HAWK line can be purchased in three variations. The standard HAWK is medium aggressive, the OC HAWK offers a slight uptick in aggression and the HAWK “A” is the most aggressive. The variations all retail for USD $59.99.
The RazoRock HAWK v3 is CNC milled from corrosion-resistant 316L marine-grade stainless steel. The milling process ensures extremely tight tolerances, which ensures the razor blade centers true and that there is no room for blade misalignment. When torqued closed, the top cap and base plate ensure no blade chatter can occur. The HAWK v3 design slims the head geometry for a more manuevable shaver. The entire assembly weighs in at 88 grams.
In terms of the shave, the HAWK v3 is a wonderful AC style SE shaver. It delivers on the promise of a medium aggressive shave. Loaded with a Schick Proline blade, the razor offers a wonderful balance of efficiency and aggression. The angle is easy to find and maintain, not forced like many AC SE razors. I am able to perform close comfortable face and dome shaves while feeling safe and in control of the razor. It is versatile and nimble.
While I am extremely impressed with the HAWK v3, it has not dethroned my favorite AC SE razor, the Blackland Razors Vector. Considering the HAWK’s affordable price point and beautiful shave, I can highly recommend this razor for new to the category users and also to AC SE razor aficionados.

I've been curious about this razor. I own several machined stainless steel DE's from RazoRock and have been really impressed with them. Thanks for the comparison to the Blackland Vector, Ruds. This puts the Hawk V3 in very favorable position when taking into account price, in my opinion.

I have the V3 Hawk and can concur that it's a comfortable shaver with decent efficiency. I owned the aluminium V2, and prefer the heavier V3.

Looking at comparisons of the V3 Hawk plates (on two shaving forums), several have noted that the Open Comb V3 Hawk was more aggressive/efficient than the 'A' aggressive plate. If you're interested in one of the Hawk models, you might want to search out shaving forums before making a purchase.

Nice job Ruds. Based on what I remember about the Vector I'd say you're correct. If I had to choose only one I'd choose the Vector but the Hawk is quite good. It's really a great bargain at the price.

A helpful review for me since I do not own any SE so far. I am into DEs. For fun and variety I am in the market for an SE.
I am still undecided whether to go for SE that use half standard DE blades, or rather go for wider heads and blades.

I have the V2 BlackHalk I like it but don’t like the handle. I either put my R41 handle on it or my RazoRock

I enjoyed the standard version enough and do not feel like I need anything more aggressive. My AC blade of choice is Schick Proline.

How would you compare those two razors (the Hawk V3 and the Vector) to the Paradigm Titanium SE? How would you rank them all on smoothness?
For me the Vector and HAWK are much more enjoyable and efficient than the Paradigm. I do not like forced angles, which the Paradigm's geometry dictates.

SE razors have really fallen out of favor with me and I don't know why. I used to have the Colonial General in brass and I have a V2 Hawk, but not amused by them. I just need use them more, I guess? I may be like Busta and just a DE shaver? LOL

I have the oc guard on my v3 with the ufo handle and it's like retardedly agressive. Like the r41 is half as aggressive.
And they make a plate even more agressive than the oc
