I love the Hawk razor, so much so, that I have not been able to get another AC razor in fear that it may not live up to the hawk. (on AC razors, I tend to favor mild razors)
Thank you for creating these video comparisons, they help a lot when shopping about. I own a Vector but wanted another SE razor to swap out blades with, so I'm going for a pre loved Hawk V3 A plate. Keep up the great work 👍
I enjoyed it Kim. When I first touched it I was worried though:) Fortunately this one did not disappear the way a couple of brands have. It lathered nicely.
I have the Executive Shaving version of the Claymore Executive and not found a problem with using the Proline blade not listed as compatible. Seems to fit perfectly.
Great video Chris. I haven’t used any of the products myself. They all looked excellent. I am fine using my Vector & Black Hawk v1. The power was out this morning and no shave or shower. Hopefully everything is back to normal when I get home tonight.
I have not tried either products yet. But I really appreciate these comparison shaves. I want to try an artist style razor and your videos really help the decision process! Thanks Chris and have a great day today! Best
Tried @murphyandmcneil Granuaile this morning. I liked it but don’t ask me to describe the scent! I really can’t! Would like to see a video and your thoughts eventually! Best
I picked up Dentonmajik “Voyage to the Keys” recently, it’s an excellent soap. The scent takes my back to the days when we used to dive for lobster in the Keys.
The Hawk felt more maneuverable and better in the hand. They were about the same in efficiency. The Claymore is what I'd call a heavy build razor. It's right on the edge of getting into clunky territory. The Claymore is a nice razor but if I could only choose one, I'd choose the Hawk.
Great shave and a good comparison. Nice job at giving an honest opinion of Dentonmajik. I guess that a soft base is alright, it shows that it's the artisan's formula that makes the difference. That's interesting. Great job. Have a good day. We are all ready for Real Talk.
Great comparison shave today Chris! I’ve found for me with the softer soaps if I’m bowl lathering them, they take less product to make a great lather, so I would think that with the standard scoop you use, that much in a softer soap should yield tons of lather and shouldn’t have to worry about adding more product in. Have a great day my man.
I had the opposite experience with a couple of brands. The soap just kinda disappeared on me into thin air:) It only happened a couple of times though.
I’m a little surprised they shaved so similarly. I figured the Claymore would be aggressive. I need to try the standard Hawk, the Hawk A is a little aggressive for my taste. Great shave sir!
Interesting video bro. I’ve always loved the razorock hawk too. Just a beautiful shaver. Nice battle tho. As for the krs Classic ... love the scent. Very similar to kouros cologne. Perfect shave bro
Morning Chris. I like my Hawk V3 very much only surpassed by the Vector Ti. I have shied away from soft or cream style soaps because of the way they lather. Stuck on Stirling and PAA style soaps. Take care and be safe. God bless.
I was wondering... I see you often use nylon washers to avoid scratching the metal. Do you have a decent source and is there a particular size? I know the screw is a M5, but when I do a search on Amazon, you have to buy 50 of them. Plus, I'm not ever sure you can use a washer on the Claymore. I know you preferred the Hawk V3, but I have my heart set on the Claymore from Scotland. Any advice would be appreciated. Kim T Hayfield
Hey Kim. These are the ones I bought: amzn.to/34Xl2dZ. The Claymore is a great razor, I wouldn't hesitate with that one. I like mine a lot. It's more cumbersome than the hawk but it's still a great shaver.
Great! This almost reminds me of your last razor comparison! To me the Alpha looks like the first mock-up in prototyping, before they start refining the original design concept. The finishing and packaging are great ,but it looks over-built for a razor. The Hawk on it's 3rd version looks great and is benefiting from the years to get to this point, although it looked good right from the start. When you said Mitchell's, it was over for me. Mitchell's is great stuff but that powdery scent, even though light, I can't stand. For me the only thing that might be worse is aquatic scents.
Excellent thoughts and feedback as always Shadow. Keep in my that you may not get what I'm getting from the soap in terms of scent. It reminds me of the Fat but you might not think so:)
How do you find the claymore shaves compared to the Outlaw DE. I have the outlaw and considering the claymore. do you find it gives a closer shave or is it milder and less efficient?
Great comparison of the Claymore and the Hawk Razors, Chris! That's a shame about Leon canceling his Live Talk appearance because I was looking forward to it. Hey, it's kind of a NY pride thing with me. Anyway, hope that he can be on Live Talk some time in the near future. Stay in the moment and enjoy your day!
I completely understand. Keep in mind perception of scent strength can vary wildly from one person to another. You might get more scent off this than I do:)
Excellent review of these razors side by side review of these razors. I’d love an artist club razor, I’m just not sure how much I would be reaching for it.
The rarest of all tallow is the muffin tallow. But can be substituted for doughnut tallow🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. I have been feeling terrible since getting my second covid jab yesterday, but you just made me really laugh, Chris.
nice razors indeed 👍 very good performance on that soap . let me say kuros had a potent sent back in the day my dad loved it and you knew when he had it on i can tell you 🤣🤣🤣🤣
No. Alpha collaborated with executive shaving and made the razors for both. The alpha razors sell more in North America and the executive shaving razors sell more in Europe.
Have you tried a Dentonmajik soap? Also, do you enjoy the Hawk or Claymore razor? Let me know your thoughts.
I love the Hawk razor, so much so, that I have not been able to get another AC razor in fear that it may not live up to the hawk. (on AC razors, I tend to favor mild razors)
@@colombianshaves9827 Nothing wrong with that sir!
The comparison I needed to see! Thank you for your efforts!
You got some fantastic runaway bloopage on pass one, Chris.
Haha, thanks Lee!
Excellent comparison shave today, Chris! I haven’t yet tried DentonMajik or either of those razors but they all seem great to me.
Thanks Bill, I appreciate you sir. I hope you have an excellent day!
@@IAMCDB thanks Chris! I hope your day is a great one too! Enjoy!
Great shave and comparison video. Have a blessed day. Hope your family is doing well

The Hawk is a very nice Razor. I like it a lot.
Terrific comparison today ! I was surprised liked the soft soap on this one
I enjoyed it Kim. When I first touched it I was worried though:) Fortunately this one did not disappear the way a couple of brands have. It lathered nicely.
The exact comparison I was looking for! Thank you for your efforts!
Great shave, Chris.
Hope your week is going well and that your family are doing well.
Thanks so much Lee. I wish the same for you!
I have the Executive Shaving version of the Claymore Executive and not found a problem with using the Proline blade not listed as compatible. Seems to fit perfectly.
That's great to hear. I think on their website they were saying it wasn't tested.
think its the best single edge razor out there the executive single edge hands down waiting on it to arrive
Nice comparison. Keep them coming!
Thanks Ronnie, I appreciate it sir.
The lather did look awesome.
Thanks so much brother, I appreciate it.
What I wouldn’t give for muffin tallow with my morning coffee 😉 Great comparison, Chris, thanks!
Hahaha! Nice John.
Great video Chris. I haven’t used any of the products myself. They all looked excellent. I am fine using my Vector & Black Hawk v1. The power was out this morning and no shave or shower. Hopefully everything is back to normal when I get home tonight.
Thanks Steve. You can't go wrong with the Vector, that's for sure. I hope you have power when you get home as well.
Good stuff Chris. I’m weighing these two up myself and I’m not sure if them both shaving so similarly is helping me lol. Thanks for the video
it may just come down to the slightly slimmer head
They are both nice.
I can understand that:)

Awesome Mike! I'm so glad you enjoyed it brother.
Excellent comparison my friend.
Thanks JT, I appreciate it.
I'm shocked that the hawk beat the claymore on preference. Really suprised. Fascinating shave buddy!
The Hawk felt more maneuverable and better in the hand. They were about the same in efficiency. The Claymore is what I'd call a heavy build razor. It's right on the edge of getting into clunky territory. The Claymore is a nice razor but if I could only choose one, I'd choose the Hawk.

Thanks Robert. The soap quality was definitely on point. I didn't get a ton of scent but it was an enjoyable shave all the same:)

@@IAMCDB hmmm yeah, maybe it might be limited to certain bases… that MacDuffs V4 is soft, and you just look at it and it lathers.
@@JMac. I didn't have any issue at all with MacDuffs. It was nice!
@@IAMCDB you have impeccable taste!
I’m a little surprised they shaved so similarly. I figured the Claymore would be aggressive. I need to try the standard Hawk, the Hawk A is a little aggressive for my taste. Great shave sir!
The Claymore looks aggressive due to the heavy build but it's a fairly easy going razor I think.
great shave Chris !! nice products
Thanks Razor, I appreciate it sir!

Excellent comparison CDB
Thank you Lori!
How do you find the claymore shaves compared to the Outlaw DE. I have the outlaw and considering the claymore. do you find it gives a closer shave or is it milder and less efficient?
I'm thinking the Outlaw is a little more efficient but I'm going strictly from memory.

I have many head shaving videos on the channel here.
