The grade of the beaches once you get to northern California, continuing up, are that much more moody and filled with amazing scapes.
The onion soup can be for a single, easily. I applaud the chunked bread. It makes it easier to spoon and enjoy.
I'd be dunking down on that bread and cheese and making a belly meal. It's soooo delicious, even if you don't have the particular points.

I was out there with my daughter a few years ago. One of the things I wanted to make sure to do was drive on the beach. I drove out there in my rental car and we got out and spent some time walking on the beach. When we got back to the car, ready to head to the airport for our flight home, I totally forgot to stay on the packed sand! About 10 seconds after I started driving I noticed the car slowing but it took a moment to realize what was happening. What an unnerving feeling! There was no way to get out of there by ourselves. Luckily, there were some people who routinely scanned the beaches for newbies like us. It took about 15 minutes, a lot of digging and some well placed boards until the car was free. Lesson learned! I stressed a bit though, seeing you out there, just reminiscing about our experience! PS The French Onion soup looked amazing! I'm going to try it.

You should go to Long Beach for the international kite festival. It’s unbelievable. Also some of the best restaurants are in LB. Enjoy. I want some French onion soup STAT.

Get a good long look at Long Beach. When the Cascadia Earthquake hits…and it will one day…that whole area will be hit hard and may disappear. All of the pacific coast is gorgeous! Keep driving north! Whidbey, Fidalgo and the San Juan Islands are gorgeous and almost nil with tourists! Driving across Deception Pass is awesome too! 😊
South Beach, lake Quinault lodge ,Kalaloch Beach, Ruby Beach, Hoh Rainforest, Rialto Beach, Lake Crescent, all on Highway 101. Then take Route 20 to Port Townsend, ferry to Fort Casey on Whidbey Island, north to Deception Pass. 20 becomes the North Cascades Highway then the Sherman Pass Highway ending at the 395 junction on the west side of the Columbia River outside of Kettle Falls.
Great location on the beach but I always observed the Pacific NW beaches tend to demonstrates the raw power of the Pacific ocean. I am more of a mountain person. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I'm impressed that you found a spot to camp down here. The county frowns on boondocking for free because they LOVE the tourist revenue. Long Beach is an awesome place to visit and the food here is pretty amazing too.

It was the starter on that car. If'n you'd have taken a heavy wrench or hammer and smacked the starter motor in the back of the impeller you'd have freed up the stuck impeller. Nice beach, cold-ass water! I am still intrigued by the solid-side camper over my pop up. I have a smaller truck and get into smaller places, but a solid structure, all set up and ready to go, with an indoor toilet and shower? Um, that sounds nice too. Good soup! I'll have to try that method.

1 quick comment I work as a CNA in a Nursing home so I have access to trained Chef's and French onion soup is 1 of my favorites so I asked the chef What do you put in it Especially to make a taste a little sweet they told me it's the red cherry wine. Also when using bone broth Mind you I don't work for the company but if you're gonna use bone broth use this brand ROLI Butcher's bone broth you can get it In the refrigerator section it's not protected by salt on the shelf it's protected by the refrigerator so it's a little more expensive but it's way better for you and Tastes better.

For everyone who hasn't heard about Jake the Alligator Man, you can see him at Marsh's Free Museum in downtown Long Beach, Washington. The storefront is both a shop and a museum of old coin-operated "time wasters" that you might have found at a carnival in the first half of the 20th century. The first time I went I was very surprised at how many of them were in working order.
Jake is in a display in one of the back corners of the shop.

I would’ve liked to have seen you stick to a more traditional French onion soup recipe. I can understand you not having Sherry, but the balsamic has such a strong taste. Ugh. The soy sauce was a bridge too far for me.

Long Beach is my fav. Spent a lot of time there working the trap rock and other quarries in the area. That's the Adrift Motel I stayed in on the right of boosting the car. Great place, so handy to the beach. The best sunset shots I have ever taken. Kite capital. I got stuck in a Camary. Had to get pushed out. That tide comes fast. Some interesting things up Aberdeen way. Cranberry farms, elk herds on the beach with eagles overhead. Cool place. The lighthouse. Always remember Lewis and Clark. 1805 Core of Discovery ended up there for the winter. Chinook Quarry is up on the hillside. What a view of the mouth of the river from about 900 ft high. Ilwacco bay.

You would proly be very happy with a chinese cleaver.... I got one a few days ago and its the best ever for cutting vegi's... It sure beats using a knife for lots of vegi cutting.... You can also cut things up much finer....

I would love to go clamming there.... Im glad your not driving on the beach.... Off road recovery can cost the moon and stars... Time is also of the essence as the tide could come in and ruin your truck...
If night time visibility sucks u should look into doing a headlight retrofit. U will have better night time visibility and won't be blinding anyone. Throwing led bulbs in the headlights aren't suggested do to them being fluted and made for halogens. Retrofits can be done easily

A really great soup is white bean Swiss chard soup. You can add the protein of your choice. I like ham pieces or Italian sausage. Or you can leave it as is.

Is there a reason you don't swing the front jack arms on your camper in after you load it on the truck? I guess so you don't have any issues accessing the back seat?
you need to buy plastix for your head lights and run HID or LED bulbs

You should check out the company oracle led bulbs I replaced all my bulbs in my 06 tundra there all plug and play

Change your light bulbs. Those get dim with age also.
