“Perfectionism gets in the way of getting things done.” I think it was Winston Churchill who said, “Perfectionism is the enemy of progress.” And that it was better spelt as “Paralysis.” I heard that in therapy a lot. You need to be OK with good enough, and keep improving it as you go. Everyone who’s endured constant updates on their smartphone and computer software knows that is how progress is made.
You’re being productive by fixing the problems you can fix instead of a complete tear down. It allows you to get back on the road and enjoy traveling again.

Dude you are not a professional carpenter you did a really good job. Don’t be so hard on yourself. When you get home from a “wet” trip open up the problem areas crack a window and run a dry heater for a for a day or two it helps my camper van.

If you plan on seasoning that firewood for next winter, I'd recommend getting some cheap pallets and stacking the wood on those. Helps keep them off the ground and creates a gap for airflow between the ground and the pallets! They'll dry out a lot quicker, and less prone to rot

Looks like a great job to me! I'm a painter of pictures and until I retired I had a day job as did my wife. With all that goes into painting ( taking care of the studio, bringing art work to galleries, framing, along with many varied and sundry related tasks oh yes AND painting!!!) housework usually came in dead last. So making a mess for us very busy folk is inevitable. I've always admired how well you do clean your messes especially when I see how much you accomplish. So keep on keeping on and don't worry about clutter. You'll get to it as you always do. An admirer of yours,

Hey Johnathan. I’ve been watching your channel for a while and I love your videos. I was going to mention they have damp rid you can hang up in your camper to keep the moisture out. I have seen other people in campers using it. They change them out every so often. I think that will help you.

For what it's worth dept. I think you made the correct decision on this...Maybe this is something to think about, go out and find you a transit cargo van, with no up grades just an empty box, and build it out the way you want with fire place etc. then have two veh. and use the one that makes the most out of the trip...Good luck Jonathan...

Nice job! I also recommend using a different heater other than a propane heater for close indoors. The propane heater produces a lot of moisture which can contribute to mold issues, so I recommend something like a diesel heater or one of those tiny wood stove/fireplace even.

In my opinion that model heater is definitely the most likely source of most humidity causing condensation. I have quiet heater without fan but it exhausts outside. I sleep great with no noise and no extra humidity!

The caulk only being on the top of the window is the proper way and not all the way around. Gravity does the rest for the sides and bottom otherwise the water is trapped or can backup. Good job on the repair. No sense in reinventing the wheel.

Good work with your repair. That’s a lot of wall etc to replace. Your repair looks good. Remember rain can come in using the smallest point or crack and find it’s path of least resistance to places hard to find. We have a small mh and I just finished resealing so much of that thing. We are older and had some joint issues which led to not spending the time on upkeep. Year before last I spent a small fortune at an rv repair shop to have it completely resealed. Last year I discovered a leak, took it back and they checked it and added some sealant. Brought it home, it rained, rv leaked, took it back they said they checked the clearance lights and that was the problem, sealant added. It still leaked. Luckily we got to it before we had a job like yours. I got tired of paying $200 an hour, so this old lady figured out a safe way to get on the roof. The original job had not been completed as stated. I spent 4 weeks fixing, resealing, watching the rain, worrying, figuring out where the water was actually coming in. Finally, finally discovered water entrance point. And discovered and fixed a crack on one of the vents over the bath. Rained and no leak. BTW I’m 71 with a new knee and hip, persistence, determination, & obsession
And a husband with a 5 month old new knee.

The nice thing is only you will notice imperfections because it looks EXCELLENT!!!!!❤
You do an EXCEPTIONAL job considering you don't do this full time.
I agree with you, insanity and chaos, everything disorganized and disheveled is MADDENING and you just have to ignore it until you clean it up.
I'm exactly the same it puts me in a funk, and then worse, I procrastinate.
And as I've stated, I use carpet tiles on the walls. They have a nice pattern that looks like wallpaper and it adds to insulation, moisture barriers and acoustics, so if you ever want to do anything like that, it's worth the effort.
    Being a perfectionist is debilitating.
Perfection doesn't exist, except in the state of mind of the individual that perceives it.
    Safe travels ❤❤

That is an EXCELLENT repair job you’ve done! Remember, you didn’t have exactly what you needed for ‘perfection’. And yet you learned how to improvise, adapt, and overcome. Good on you !!! Perhaps you can get a woodstove in the future. They’re really good with evaporating condensation moisture. Practically cost nothing to operate and Would save a lot on propane. Hey Jonathan I am old time truck camper and I bought a 12volt 150 Amp continuous duty solenoid relay off amazon for $25 and wired it to energize when my truck turns on and hooks via a wire and plug to camper batrtery so the truck alternator charges the house battery while i drive and then disconnects when I shut off the truck. Works great for years. I just used 10 gauge 2 conductor garden wire a bought on clearance at lowes and an extension cord plugs with grounds not hooked anything so the polarity is always right. cheap easy works great. good job Carl Dickey

Congratulations on pushing past your OCD/Perfectionism and recognizing when that part of your character is serving you and when you are serving it to your detriment. Getting a bit out of your comfort zone when it really doesn't matter and using that zone when it really does, an example is personal safety and the safety of others.
I had to learn to put blinders on when visiting my daughter's home. She's the opposite of me when it comes to cleaning and organization. I would get so overwhelmed by my OCD that I'd automatically start obsessing or start cleaning and miss out completely on what should have always been my focus, her and my grandchildren. Not saying she minded free housekeeping services, but it missed the point for me at least for my visits. Now I just tune out of the clutter and tune into the priceless treasures of my daughter and grandchildren. The clutter will most likely always be there, they will never be this age again and if the Lord should tarry, I want them to remember grandma as fun and not the cleaning lady. Priorities people! God bless.

If it is condensation, you might want to open vents, windows and cabinet doors to allow the inside to dry out and air out. Mainly during winter and rainy times.

      Do this after each trip.

Luna would be one scared adventurer. A dog is perhaps in my near future 🙂
