Hey folks! As others have pointed out, some areas require permits to chop down trees from the forest to take home. We did acquire a permit from the Mt Hood National Forest Service and I highly suggest checking with your local agency to see what they require before chopping!
Thanksgiving is spent with the ones you love. Doesn’t matter if we’re having Stoffer’s lasagna or pizza. Lol. I was always taught as long as you’re thankful, in good health, and in good spirits .. we should be grateful. Cheers to new traditions!
Definitely get the camper add-on, the camper makes the 15 hour wait for the AAA tow truck a lot easier. Had to call AAA for a tow once, it was 5 pm, and the arrival time was 7 pm. At 7 pm I checked the app and the arrival time was 9 pm. Every time I checked the arrival time was exactly 2 hours in the future. At 11 pm I gave up and called my insurance, their tow truck came within half an hour. Naturally I don't have AAA anymore. Most people have it for the towing, and if they don't want to provide that, what are they good for?
We always have the traditional Thanksgiving meal. Roasted chicken instead of turkey, baked ham, dressing w/ gravy and cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, pea casserole, sweet potato casserole with brown sugar/pecan topping, mashed potatoes, rolls w/ lots of butter. and pumpkin pie plus pecan pie for dessert. We do enjoy a spicy meal (usually Chinese takeout) after two days of Thanksgiving leftovers. But your Thanksgiving meal looked very tasty. Good luck having everything back in tip-top shape with the camper truck. See you on the next adventure.
great spot! My hubby & kids did Thanksgiving at Moonlight Beach (San Diego) several years ago. I love to have an unusual day of thanks. Positive vibes for the truck fix. Love the tree-memories!
I hope that Thanksgiving was great! I'm glad that Tessa was there! The Hot Pot meal looked as if it turned out fantastic-especially with that brisket, lobster, and broth! I wish that I could have joined you guys on that meal! Take care and enjoy the Holidays!🏞🍲🍲🥤🥤
Thanksgiving bro. What's the deal with the 60's romantic rock lol oh yeah American engineuity will take cross country once but them Yota will take ya back and forth times ten no problems. Toyotas built to crush rocks!
You need to get a permit to cut down a Xmas tree bud. And they only allow it in certain places. The permit is only $5 up here in Washington. But I won’t tell lol happy thanksgiving
SUGGESTION jonathan, there is a shop in AZ and there may be one closer that works on these Fords, better than any other mechanics. Its worth your money and its a good trip for you. They 'bullet proof'the ford diesels with parts that are known to fail. Look up Bullet proof ford diesels and youll eventually get there.Might be worth a call to them at a minimum. Lots of Ford YTrs take their trucks there for repairs and or bullet proofing with better more reliable parts
Ford is good....as a truck driver that has used many engines.... international engines are trash....no matter which one it is... every one that has one does alot of justifying 😂
Happy Thanksgiving I had to work, But made food on Wed. I made a 10 pound turkey and mashed potatoes," green giant riced veggies with cauliflower the rainbow style and apple pie Yeah Fords are a pain in the ass lol. Beautiful View, sweet tree, make sure no Squirrel lol
It’s true. Being in the RV industry we would use Drive-Away companies to deliver our coaches. It was always a race for the drivers. They wanted the Chevy powered units before driving a Ford. No body wants to drive a unit that might break down.
We do traditional Turkey day every other year. The in- between years we have 10 of us and each couple brings a unusual entree they love + a side.. We usually do homemade lobster and spinach manicotti and spinach and mushroom ravioli with brown butter sauce. One of guest do a great Russian borscht, and another does German Chicken in a Jaegar (brown mushroom gravy) sauce. It is all yummy!
I enjoy the traditional thanksgiving food because I only eat it once a year. I like turkey but it’s not my preference, only time I eat it is thanksgiving
Happy holidays! Definitely lovely to be out there for a thanksgiving. Yea true statement your ford did take you across and back “ONCE” Toyota that plus some hahah jk. Funny what you said and you did have a Toyota haha. Hope the ford get to be good to go.
I just said where's Johnathan boom You pop up with Tessa on this Awsome Thanksgiving Video. This made my night I'm enjoying your Video now. I'm so Happy to see You Tessa. Both You and Johnathan are a Joy. Safe Journeys. I'm going to resume watching your video and a Beautiful Wonderful Joyful Blessed Thanksgiving to You Both as well. LOVE and GOD Bless You Aloha Always Sister Chrissy❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🥰⚘⚘⚘⚘
I owned a Ford pickup and loved it. I shipped it to Germany and drove it for a couple years. After selling it, I saw it on the side of the autobahn, obviously broken down. Someone wrote on the dirty side of the truck: F-ound O-n R-oad D-ead. Your meal looks awesome! As a van lifer, I love to experiment with food and will try your "hot pot" idea.
Glad u had a Happy Thanksgiving. Free tree is a good tree no matter if it is a Charlie Brown tree. Never heard of a hot pot. We had the traditional food. 🦃 🥧 💕
Still love hanging out with you guys! Which video editing program do you suggest I use for a startup TH-cam channel? I used davinci 16 a few years ago but it was a steep learning curve and although I was getting the hang of it, I thought I should check to see if there are other suggestions before resuming.
It’s like the Asian version of an African American crab boil. I mean this with absolutely no disrespect at all, I hope no one takes it that way. I honestly love how we truly are all the same…we just have different taste buds and access to ingredients. Food brings the world together. Ok, back to the video.
Very disappointing!! A tenderfoot boyscout would be embarrassed at how poorly that tree was harvested, and so should you. You hacked down some poor tree on the side of the road. I bet it took you longer to set up your camera than it did to survey the tree you killed. Just a weekend warrior. You have the responsibility of a steward. Thousands of people watch your channel, and you taught them to hack down scrawny roadside trees. For shame.
Looks like you're right on the Lookout Mountain Road SW spur road near the old Cooks Meadow trailhead. Probably best to acknowledge and let folks know as you broadcast that you need a resource harvest permit from the ranger district or NF offices to be cutting trees on public lands.
Hope the truck issues aren’t too bad! Nice meal! It’s getting hot down here in Australia so we usually have cold meats, seafood and salad for my Xmas lunch! Followed by swimming!

You should have addressed that in the video.

Oregon requires a tree permit. Hope ya picked one up at the ranger station.

I cooked the classic Thanksgiving food.. That remind me when my dad years ago used to go in the woods and chop a tree. We never bought one.
do you need a permit to cut a tree in the Oregon wilderness?
Yes, can pick one up for $5 at the Ranger stations.

Love the video. Be carful cutting down trees. You might need a permit for that. Just trying to save you a headache, fine and a court date.
It's a charlie brown xmas tree.....
She is feisty!!!😂
Oh, ya, she's a beaut fer sure, eh! LOVE hot pot! Always and I mean ALWAYS keep a back-up Toyota...Cheers from Victoria, B.C.
“Hotpotting” is a new word. I thought it meant something different at first 😅.
That meal looked great we had fried catfish and shrimp boil for thanksgiving we camp outdoors lol. Safe travels.
We do traditional with family and switch up with Friendsgiving.
Thanksgiving bro. What's the deal with the 60's romantic rock lol oh yeah American engineuity will take cross country once but them Yota will take ya back and forth times ten no problems. Toyotas built to crush rocks!
Love your video but FYI cutting down a tree in the Mt. Hood national Forest does require a permit.
You need to get a permit to cut down a Xmas tree bud. And they only allow it in certain places. The permit is only $5 up here in Washington. But I won’t tell lol happy thanksgiving
May I make a suggestion?
Cancel AAA and review and consider Good Sam travel insurance 🤗

This just is not normal. It seems like everything that can go wrong does go wrong.
What happens when you buy extremely old vehicles
This is totally normal when you impulse buy old vehicles while not knowing anything about the mechanics of vehicles
It's called inherenting someone else's hassles. It's called buying an used car.
--- Just stick with Toyota trucks... Ford trucks are mostly trouble!
Did you have to pay for the permit? Can you post your permit so we can see what it looks like? Never heard such a thing.
Johnny boy, get rid of AAA and go for Good Sam. Much better.
I can see a Charlie Brown Christmas in your future
Agreed 😃
We do seafood for thanksgiving. I love breaking the rules. 😁

Always nice seeing Tessa. Happy Holidays.
Had corned beef and cabbage and potatoes, something different.
I went to Golden Corral for Thanksgiving 😊
Happy Thanksgiving Jonathan and Tessa!
You're renting a house with a garage now? Nice! If you caused the issue with the bolts, it's better to let someone else fix it. 😊
Tessa is great. I just KNOW she tears you up. Shes a clown.
Casino buffet in Laughlin, NV with turkey and all the traditional goodies. Works for us.
Hot Pot Combo! Whoo whee! Delish lookin' video, Mr. Jonathan and Miss Tessa! Happy 2024
Hotpot turkey? Etc..

Sorry about your truck. Get a GMC truck.😂. Cadillac of trucks. Get the camper special
Why did you substitute a different camper for the Bel Air camper shell (if you don't mind telling me)? Were you satisfied with the Bel Air? Thank you.
Glad u had a Happy Thanksgiving. Free tree is a good tree no matter if it is a Charlie Brown tree. Never heard of a hot pot. We had the traditional food. 🦃 🥧 💕
I am surprised only one Canada Jay was looking for food scraps. A common bird around campsites in the Pacific NW.
The bird was a Grey Jay. Yes they will feed out of your hand ! 🇨🇦 🍁 🏔️. Try it some day. Seeds work best !

Your tree looks just like the one from a Charlie Brown Christmas lol
Hot Pot looks great. Come on give the bird some scraps on the ground, Help Nature out❤️❤️❤️🙏

FORD, Fix Or Repair Daily, we’ve had Hot Pot before its yummy
Turkey taters
It’s a Charlie Brown Xmass for you
Sorry about the Ford issues, but it looks like a great outdoor Thanksgiving trip. You always have a more elaborate meal than the typical camping food.
I love your tree
Looks like you're right on the Lookout Mountain Road SW spur road near the old Cooks Meadow trailhead. Probably best to acknowledge and let folks know as you broadcast that you need a resource harvest permit from the ranger district or NF offices to be cutting trees on public lands.
We had the traditional foods for Thanksgiving, but, we pre-ordered our dinner pre-cooked.
Can we see the tree after you decorate it? Looks like y'all had alot fo fun!
👍👍👍👍👍😃
This year we went to Knott’s Berry Farm & Universal studios, had a blast! 🤎🦃🍁
Yeah thats a ford for yeah found off road dead lol
Wow You get to cut down a Christmas Tree Beautiful ❤⚘🥰🙋♀️
Just like a woman to criticize our accomplishments before the end product. I feel ya!
Hope the truck issues aren’t too bad! Nice meal! It’s getting hot down here in Australia so we usually have cold meats, seafood and salad for my Xmas lunch! Followed by swimming!
happy holiday looking forwards more videos
When editing this video did you notice your passenger side reverse bulb is out? If not, you’re welcome. 😂
We didn’t have family with us this year so we camping at Newport. We took our Traeger and made a yummy tri tip for supper 🤗
Happy Holiday. That includes Thanksgiving with a view and gf, and Christmas with the Charlie Brown tree. Good to see you enjoying the country.
Hot pot is the best! You’re just missing 1 important element, a dipping sauce of your choice!
We did Birria tacos and BBQ Smoked pulled pork. :D Way better than the turkey dinner we did a month ago lol
Hobo stew
Ford also stands for : Fix Or Repair Daily
Every vehicle needs a back up vehicle
I am from Ontario Canada so had our Thanksgiving a while ago. We had the traditional meal but with most of the family there. Happy Thanksgiving!!!
When does Can celebrate?? Why it different?
@@StarboardBow we celebrated on Oct 9th, 2023.
Charli Brown tree! Love it
Happy Thanksgiving what a great video ❤ you two enjoy your Christmas Tree 🎄
Haha we don’t even have thanks giving in Nz so I couldn’t even tell you what we ate. 😂
You got back your truck!
Edit: and it's gone..
Always great videos!!! I just ordered some of the same Hot Pot broth!! Thank you!!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Is it free to chop trees up there?
Hotpot very like Laksa! Looks delicious 😮 yumo
Sound like Spider-Man “my back”
Tessa is too funny 😂
Traditional, for one.
Hot Pot soup sounds similar to Wor Wonton soup, which I love.
Perfect combo to have Thanksgiving meal and a free Christmas tree! 🎄😊
Nope my Thanksgiving sucked, I spent it alone and did not get my favorite turkey. But thanks for asking.
Sorry to hear that! Hopefully next year is better.
