Tip for the oven, buy a square pizza stone and put it on the lower "rack" (the solid sheet of metal, not the main rack) it helps disperse the heat a little better and I noticed things cooked more evenly.

7.3’s have filters in the tank that are prone to gunking up. Also your driving with winter blend fuel now which will give you less mpg.

Uh-oh, emergency trip home to save the relationship. No worries, we've all been in similar situations when doing our own thing for too long for them to bear.
As for mpg, from Maine to Colorado is on average uphill and against the wind. That alone can explain that your real average is 11mpg, and you got 12mpg going east, 10mpg going west.
PUMP UP THOSE TIRES to the "max load at max pressure" psi specified on the tire sidewall.
Worst thing in the world for mpg is using the mushy tire pressures on the door jamb.
Ford isn't paying for your fuel, you are. Don't listen to them.
You're pretty heavily loaded, so using the max-load pressure is very sensible for that reason also.
Last but not least, SLOW DOWN, and I say that without needing to know how fast or slow you drive.
Optimal mpg for that boxy shape is probably between 30mph and 40mph.
The only reason 40mph might be not already getting bad, is the high overhead of just having the engine running at all.
    Do a tank at 50mph, a tank at 55mph, a tank at 60mph, and a tank at 65mph.
Or better yet, get a scan tool and watch your instantaneous mpg through the OBDII port in real time, running a couple minutes at each speed each time conditions stay the same for 10 or 20 minutes. $15 dongle and a free phone app, you'd have the answer. Or get a $100ish one that records and stores real-time graphs of data. I like my Launch Creader Elite, and have given its various models (200/202/205) to friends and family.
Ditto for seeing how mpg varies with tire pressures, though to do an accurate job of that, you'd need to measure tire temps (laser thermometer is often on sale for $15 at Harbor Freight) and use that to figure out what the psi would be at ambient "cold temp". But you don't need to do an accurate job. Inflate them to max sidewall psi when cold. Then when you find 50 miles of level road ahead, drive 10 miles watching ODBII mpg, then reduce pressure and drive 10 miles, etc. Don't go below safe pressure, obviously. Then pump them back up at the end of the experiment, so do it when soon reaching a truck stop or whatever.

For the fuel mileage check the following : As tires wear, rolling friction increases. It does with low pressure too, so check that. Clean the exhaust back pressure sensor and tube. Check fuel pressure is still in the 50-60ish range. Low fuel pressure means accelerating more to do the same work as before. Try some Seafoam, PS Diesel Kleen or Hot Shot Secret to clean the injectors. If you end up dropping the tank to check the fuel sending unit for accuracy, be sure and clean or replace the mixing chamber screens. . Hope you go to Florida next - warm weather and great scenery

I think you have a prevailing wind that accounts for the mileage difference. A west to east wind is pretty common, and you rig is like a big sail, so you could have been getting a 1 mpg assist traveling east, and now have a 1 mpg headwind impact heading back. Might we worth confirming that before you spend too much time on the fuel filter. Sorry if you cover that later on in the video.

Put the rack in the middle of the oven otherwise it burns the bottom fast if it's right above it. We live in a fifth wheel right now. Also have a small pan upside right above where the fire is for another barrier to not burn food while baking. Another tip is get an oven temp monitor. Ones that hang off the rack for a accurate reading.

To bad you headed north instead of south when you reached the East Coast. New England is a very beautiful region but you may have experienced some bad juju while in a couple of the states up there. Not many location to boondock ANYWHERE through New England. They frown on “camping” or trying to stay overnight on streets and parking lots. Pretty big fines and police presence throughout the region to try to stop visitors from staying overnight anywhere. That area wants you to spend $$$$$ to stay at their overpriced B&B places or high priced hotels or Inns. You are correct in that a lot of the tourism is closed down up there like campgrounds and some attractions that are seasonally opened, closing around mid Sept.
I had commented in your original video of your journey east and suggested to you to come east and plan something going south through NJ, PA, Delaware, Maryland and even down through the Carolinas. You would have had a GREAT adventure, great weather and tons of Fall events throughout this region. Many State parks some campgrounds are open year round in these states and you could have had a lot more “rest stop” overnight rest stops. The I-95 North to South highway has tons of these free overnight “rest” stops. Trucks and campers are always using these while traveling from New England to Florida. Many unique places to visit just off this major highway from Maine to Florida.
Had you made the journey south, this time of year you would have had tons of seasonal changes to see over next month. Leaves changing, birds migrating, THE BEST FISHING TIME OF THE YEAR. This is the start of migration of all the east coast birds, fish and even lots of wildlife to see as they get ready for winter. Maybe if you plan another trip to the east coast States consider trip from PA/NJ and head south from there. Lots to see in every season, just gets a little crowded during summer.
Your fuel consumption for that truck with that diesel Ford engine is not to bad. I have and FX4 with gas engine and have several friends with that exact rig (diesel) and they will get 12-13 maybe 14 on flat roads on highway with camper top or trailer at cruise speed of 65-75 but it ALWAYS drops to around 10-11 when its stop and go traffic. That 350 truck will eat fuel going over 75 or in stop and go traffic or mountain passes which is probably what you encountered in the New England region.
Will not be long for winter camping adventures and I hope you get home safely. Try to get on West side of Rocky Mts before next couple weeks. Snow season is here and that rig will be tough in deeper mountain snow.
If you do plan a future East Coast trip reach out and I can give you some good info for travels from NY to Florida if you want.

Poland…damn dude…I live really close to Poland, OH. I know what you mean about that small town feel there! Poland is an awesome little town. I am over that way at least once a week shopping and getting gas in Boardman. I live just across the OH/PA border…gas is so much cheaper in OH!!!
Next time you visit Poland, give me shout…breakfast, lunch or dinner is on me bro!
BTW-I second the idea of getting a pizza stone to disperse the heat in your oven. Also, next time you’re in Walmart pick up a cheap oven thermometer as your oven dial, like most in an oven, isn’t 100% accurate.
As always, stay safe out there….

You weren't doing the trip the wrong time of year, you were doing it at the wrong latitude. I try to stay south in the winter and north in the summer. Go to Arizona and Southern California in the winter, so many great places to explore. I kayaked the Salton Sea and rode dirt bikes in Ocotillo Wells and Anza Borrego last winter. Tee shirt weather.

@geoffspage8105 yeah I'm just trying to think of the last time he followed through on any plan. First off, he doesn't live in his camper full-time like he portrayed in the beginning. He's just a weekend camper that goes out to the Wilderness on occasion and sleeps in his truck camper then goes back to his apartment. Also, how many trucks and campers has he had since the beginning I get looking to upgrade which is fine but buying a camper then stripping a completely down for a full renovation was ridiculous to begin with and then tapping out halfway through and selling it to buy a different camper because he realized it was too much work. I said in the beginning that starting a road trip to the east coast in the beginning of October was way too late in the season because he would be hitting snow before ending the trip. A coast to coast trip should start in late spring and carry on until early fall. Take your time, enjoy the scenery and take in the different towns and cities along the way to see what they have to offer. He jumped in the truck, put the foot down saying he was going to make a I run for the East Coast then work his way back. Well, he raced to the east coast, got to Maine without Crossing into Canada and going to Nova Scotia like he said he was going to, now racing back home. He just said time slipped away and went too fast, did he honestly think he was going to do and Coast to Coast trip across the United States in a month without taking time to slow down and see what the country had to offer. With that said, I do enjoy the camping aspect of the videos though even if it's only driving to a place in the evening, cooking some meal nobody would ever bother with on a camping trip and then packing up and going home first thing the following morning LOL
Personally, I think maybe his girlfriend expected him to be home within a month and when she realized he was still way out on the East Coast 3 weeks into the month she had a fit and now he's racing back home to kiss ass. You can tell she's not into the camping like he is and if this is the way he wants to try to make a living, it's not going to work unless both are on board with the plans or way of life

ah ha! you got to "the low point" and backed away. In decades of riding the country by motorcycle I leanred about "the low point". When on a road trip that youve spent weeks or months planning and anticipating, there is a series of disappointments along the way as the actual trip doesnt live up to the dream. Eventually it gets to the "Low Point" where you want to just toss it in and go home. But the thing is....thats when it gets good. When you finally toss away the expectations and just let the experiences happen. You shift perspective from trying to get the whole thing to cooperate with your plans and instead give yourself over to whatever may come. I was on a trip that was hooped from the get go. By the time I had gotten to the east coast from the west, the suck was in effect. I had been compressed between the skirts of two hurricanes as I crossed the upper midwest. Pennsylvania had 10 inches of rain in 24 hours. As I headed south I was plagued by flat tires. By the time I got to tennessee I had given up on fixing the stupid things and had the bike towed to the crappiest motel ever over Labor Day weekend. The room was filthy, The next room over was stuffed with people like a clown car. That night: I got an inappropriate proposition, tried patching the tire tube again while the neighbors offered boozy advice; and finally was dragged out of bed at 1 AM by someone pounding on the door - because there was a hoopty cadillac on fire just feet away from the building. After that I gave in. What next? arrest? hospital? zombie apocalypse? Screw it - I have a running bike, cash in my pocket, and no particular place to be for a month. and the rest of the trip was one of the best Ive ever had.
Dont back away from the low point.

Well, it doesn't seem like you were able to really enjoy Iowa much...just traveling throb on I-80. Many people underestimate our state. Not saying you did...I know you were rushing to get home...just saying that it's worth a trip back some time! At least you got to enjoy some of the best local IPAs! Hopefully you can get back to the midwest once our crazy winter is over. Safe travels! 🍻

Maybe put your truck in the shop.
You might have a dirty injector.
Get it running good and put a pint of cheap O'Reilly ATF in the fuel.
tank. But only if it's pre 2006. Then fuel it full.

You were in a warehouse working on your big foot truck camper that you had bought in Canada and now I notice your in a different truck camper? If you don’t mind my asking... what happened to have you change truck campers? I love your videos. I was just curious.

There are plenty of public lands in the east. What is not allowed is to drive your vehicle into the parks and preserves, cutting branches along the way, and park in the woods.
The woods are forever wild here. Park rangers are expressing concerns about people from the west and people who watch youtubers from the west driving up hiking paths and cutting vegetation and trees to fit their vehicles on the hiking paths.
Here in the east we don't want to see campers on our hiking trails. Our public lands are made for hiking or tent camping.
I'm sorry but your multi-video critism of our beautiful, natural parks is off-putting, and not the relaxing channel I sunscribed to.

It’s lonely to go on a cross country trip. You need to have someone with you. One month is too long to be cooped up alone and just driving. Our family’s max is one week. After that, we’re all getting on each others nerves 🤷‍♀️ and just head back home.
