As a fellow resident of Vermont, I must say it is really freaking cool to see my favorite channel come to my home state. The old store you visited towards the beginning of the video is around 15 minutes from where i live. The small towns and beautiful mountains really make it a special place. I wish i could see you, haha. Have a good day.
@LukeGray-fs1sl my husband and I came out to VT last year to hike The Long Trail and we absolutely fell in love with your state. We came back for a week again this year. We will absolutely be back again and again.
@LukeGray-fs1sl I use to live in the Adirondacks and spent some time in Vermont. My children still live there. I flew into Burlington and drove over to see them. Spent 3 days at shelburne museum and not sure I saw it all. Amazing museum! I love your state. I live in the smokies of NC near TN and hope if he comes through here I’d happen to run into him and him also! Cool guy! I live near the Appalachian Trail and Bartram Trail, just down the road. Im always offering hikers rides back to trail or into town or to their grocery shopping etc, it’s fun to meet people and they always appreciate the offer. It always does me good to have the conversation, as I’m a widow. Anyway, I love Vermont!
Bummer not too many places for dispersed camping, but you found nice spot 💕👍 PS- it's not 🔥burnt chicken, in the restaurant biz it's called "blackened" 🤣👍
Glad you showered🤭🤭🤣🤣in your camper!🤣🤭 Now that's what I call a healthy breakfast!🍳🥦🧅🍠🥑And that chicken looked like it would taste amazing!🍗🍗 Vermont is absolutely beautiful!🏞Love the quaint little towns in the woods, and the firewood, for camping and also coziness!🔥🤗Soo glad you've made it up that hill with your camper-Whew! Trust me, the longer you stay on the East coast, the richer in color the scenic views get( I'm telling ya)!🍂🍁 Even on some of the Interstates and on Garden Stat Parkway, vibrant colors are expected! Stretch your stay on the East coast as far as you can!! Take care!🍂🍂🍁🍁☕
Jonathan, as a fan of the channel, if you pass through Massachusetts I would strongly recommend that you head to the end of Cape Cod to Race Point, Provincetown specifically. You can camp with your rig out on the beach if you're self contained for up to 2 weeks! Tons of seals, whales and maybe a great white. It's definitely the best hidden gem of New England and yes, they allow camp fires on the beach. I will be there this upcoming weekend and the following weekend. Can share more on the logistics if you are interested. I've been going their for 20 seasons now. Love the cross country trip!
My dad used to cook onions until they were almost black, they never tasted burnt but would caramelize and he would make them with rice and brown gravy, to this day I’ve never been able to replicate exactly but I love the taste of them.
Putting the oil on the chicken helped burn it on the grill. What I like to do is melt some butter and add garlic. Every 5 minutes flip chicken and add some garlic butter on top. It helps make the skin crispy but not burned which I like.
As a Vermont native myself I think it's so awesome you spent some time there. How do I miss it. My wife and I live in Michigan now. But we were just there this past week for a friend's wedding. It's crazy to think we were so close! Stay safe and have fun!
Though I love the various sceneries, my favorite will always be to see you cooking, and your truck having a functional kitchen. It’s just reassuring to see that you won’t get hungry during your trip 😂
I loved the video and was happy to see you. It looks so pretty in Vermont. Can’t wait for the next videos. Your camper is super cozy and nice to have a shower too.
Love your videos and most of all your wanderlust spirit! Your meals are very impressive, better than being in a home kitchen! Stay safe and many more happy miles ahead.
Make sure you go to New Hampshire and go up the Kancamagus Highway there's camping all over the place in New Hampshire also go to North Conway then definitely go to Cape Cod Massachusetts you won't be disappointed there either
Great video! You couldn't have asked for a better camping spot. Very nice! Taking showers in a small shower takes practice. I am 6'3" 230 lbs and have a hard time in small showers. Once you get a system down it will seem normal.
I’m def buying that mini torch that’s an amazing idea ! Makes campfire starting so easy. I’ve always used egg cartons and cardboard. That’s worth 60$ since Rei has a year warranty.
Glad you got to have a taste of the east coast. Cook the chicken when the coals are more present. Great meal, fire, and also Cafe bustelo is a great cheap strong coffee especially for French press. Enjoy the east coast my friend.
Semi-clean? A shower in the TC is the ONLY way to go! We love ours! Not sure why you waited so long and why you won't utilize it more? The fall colors sure are pretty. I hope we get many more videos before you head back west. Cheers! ~M
Jonathan! Make your way down to Shennandoah National Park in Virginia! You haven't missed peak bloom yet and it's a sight to see. We can link up, drink some good brews, cook a great meal, and make some good coffee for the morning after.
Sadly it's true about dispersed camping on the east coast, I live in Daytona Beach FL and it's very limited here. I always look for cheap state parks or forestry land. Thanks for your videos, it's cause of you and a few other TH-camrs that got me back into camping again :)
LOVE your videos and your recipes, I just made the ramen dish and veggies for my dinner last night, stir fried in the wok and added bean sprouts, delicious. Vermont is one of my destinations when our van is ready.
Think it’s time for you to invest in a good folding camp saw. I have seen you buy firewood many times and many of the places you camp have plenty of dry wood for the taking so it would pay for itself in no time.
Hey Jon! Not sure how far behind in real time this is, or what ur plans are, but im in jersey, live on the shore less than 2 hours south of NYC, if u come down this way, we have a big ole driveway, waterfront and you're more than welcome to come park!! Love the autumn vids and hope the East Coast has been nice for you 🍂🍁
Could we see a chore day please!? I have an aunt who lives in New Hampshire but as a Californian I don't know much about that area. It would be cool to see. Easy content.
Jonathan I love your videos. Thanks for taking us a long on your road trips. Vermont is beautiful. Fall mountain colors are so pretty. It seemed so peaceful even though the lens. Your meals always look delicious 😋
Hey brother just a heads up but you shouldnt need to use your generator very often. Your truck should be charging the house battery on the camper especially on long drives. Check your owners manual or internet for fuse/relay location most likely in the engine compartment. If your not sure if the relay is good switch the relay with another identical relay to verify function. You can also check 7 way round pigtail with a multimeter to very power. Hope this helps. Keep up the great content im always looking for your new videos
Assuming he has LiFePO4 for the house batteries, the days of a simple vehicle/house switch or relay just putting them in parallel with the vehicle battery to charge, are over. He needs an actual DC-DC charger that can be configured for LiFePO4, or an AC-DC charger for LiFePO4 run off an inverter. But in a more general sense, you're right that using a generator is a terrible idea compared to having a hard-wired way to supply charging from the vehicle while driving or idling. And I don't mean trying to charge from the 12V socket with its 10A fuse. I recommend the Kisae DMT1250 (which can charge at any increment of 5A, up to 50A) or DMT1230 which can charge at 5, 10, 20, or 30A. They also have automatic switchover to their solar MPPT charger when the vehidle is off. Between weight, size, gas cans, cost, maintenance, and noise, a generator simply should not be part of the RV plan for anyone who doesn't need a lot of air conditioning.
The 7 pin plug does not provide more than a trickle of charge to the house battery unfortunately. Doesn’t come close to charging it, even on very long drives. Wish it did
@@JonathanYentchI know it’s gonna cost some money $$ but if you ever go the solar generator setup I’d recommend the EcoFlow delta 2 max. I installed a 1000W Reonogy inverter in my 4Runner and it charges the delta 2 max battery at 900 watts when driving. So can basically charge from 0-100% in 2 hours. Plus it’s a 2000watt battery so you’ll be able to run any appliances you need. The inverter is super easy to install, just connects straight to the car battery and you can run the cables through your firewall.
@@JonathanYentchthat seems weird to me. I have a camper and my battery charges up from my F150 in about an hour. Sounds like maybe you have a bad ground or your wires have too thin of a gauge.
I love your vids. Hubby and I have a travel trailer with a small wet bath similar to yours. We noticed we were using too much water getting our water to be not too hot, not too cold after soaping up when we wanted to rinse. You will be able to have an entire shower once you become more accustomed to it. Maybe look around for a new showerhead which will not shut off entirely but keep the water mixed and running at a trickle which will be the temperature you want when you want it for rinsing. This saves water and annoyance too. Edited to add that I love your portable firepit, I think I'll add one to my list for making camping better, I guess not every level place to park has a firepit. Safe travels!
Vermont in the Fall is absolutely beautiful. And as usual I enjoy your cooking. It's always so tasty looking. This is a lovely road trip and thanks for taking us along.🤩
Glad your enjoying New England. I'm headed home today from the Roof Top Tent Rally at the James River State Park in Gladstone, Virginia. Connecticut is home. Safe travels
