My only real nit pick with the NG+ is that you can't further upgrade Atreus and Freya's weapons nor are there any new cosmetics for them. I would really like to see Atreus get some Greek and/or Celtic themed armour inspired by his fathers past and Mimir's stories.

I wish they did this, but I'm not complaining. Kratos is more fun to play and the update brought a lot of things that I wanted, especially the Bear Coat and Zeus Armour. Although I wished Boy got some too.

They should add appearances for weapons, too. Maybe for the blades of chaos, there could be a blades of exile or athena skins, and for the axe mjolnir could be a cool thing. For the spear, maybe Tyrs spear could be awesome. I know that will never happen, but a man can dream.

Nah. Mjolnir should be a separate weapon that should be accesed thru a relic. Sacrifices one of your most useful things to survive for a new weapon. Mjolnir should be boomerang styles, when throwin it comes back and has slower but stronger attacks of the axe, and thunder moves.

Well Draugr pit Draugr bosses have remixed timings on their yellow and reds, so I bet GNA takes that to the extreme

Just save the game before you fight a boss, and save again using a new file so you can save boss fights
I wonder how hard NG+ GNA is going to be because the first time I fought Sigrun. Was in NG+ so I had no experience fighting her so I was fighting. The hardest version of a boss I had no experience fighting against, in my first playthrough hopefully history won’t repeat again. What I mean about that is 5 days of struggling against a boss.😭
She’s gonna be a piece of cake with Zeus armor. Or just with the new enchantments. (Stack all chest piece buffs)
I'm gonna fight her level 1 with all 9 burden enchantments equipped. It might take me a few months though if they changed her move set. 😅

They need an update to NG+ where we can breakdown certain items (armor, relics, etc..) and turn them into enchantments or weapons handles 🤔 for example: the bifrost, poison, lightning, or realm shift relics could be made into weapons handles or enchantments 😁 would be nice to get some new cool armor in certain early areas of the game like when you do the forges side mission for the dwarves or Lundas side mission 🙄😎
They actually already have armor ability as an enhancement being added in NG+ you just need the glided coins which you get by fully upgrade the armor

I can’t believe this dropped already just yesterday I watched a video saying it wouldn’t be out till June, I’m still trying to beat the beserker king 🤣
This is gonna be great to replay, I did the full grind and not only did I get the plat trophy, but I 100% each area of the game and maxed out every item in the game.
When I started playing NG+ I couldn't do the spear puzzles until after the forge mission...
This update is dope but I kinda wish we got more fixes and improvements update (I know they could possibly address this in the future but idk) like having sheild combat skill tree return, some vfx and just general effects be more fleshed out as I feel that the feeling of impact and insane effects are slightly underdone, new runics, new relics. No I understand some of these that deal with animations might be asking for too much, but you could even just reuse animations from the old game like sheild combat abilites, and for the effects I imagine that would not take too long to work on
The visual effects in gow 2018 were really distracting for me, it took away from the combat

Hell naw, as I said in another comment, better take their time and add it as a new relic, and when activated (no cooldown ofc), you are using Mjolnir. As for the R1/2+ L1 moves, just add some thunder versions of unused Leviathan attacks. As for Mjolnir working, it should work as a slower but stronger and thunder axe, and have a boomerang capability (throw and it comes back). When activated or deactivated the relic, the hammer should make a kind of area of thunder that blows up for a second, think of the capabilities of combos. As for unlocking, unlock it when 100% NG+, and being able to NG+ another NG+ save file to use it. Just imagine it.

@@easteiht7675 lets hope, but i dont think itll happen, cuz theyre like "Mjolnir its too similar to Leviathan cuz they both come back". If they just thought about it like I did (I didnt even take more than 5 minutes), they'd know the capabilities. Also, a one handle hammer isnt similar at all like a two handle axe.

So you can now change the colors of your armors, thank god, I wanted a feature like that so badly, for a moment though I was worried whatever new appearance you pick you’ll be stuck with it forever but thankfully no.

You can further upgrade your skills on the skill tree, that you had upgraded before.

I was fighting fraekni the zealous when i noticed she had new abilities where, like when the unblockable attack where she goes side to side it had mini explosions and the air strike (the blockable one) and two missiles before she hit me
Fought her yesterday and I was caught off guard. I fought her on NG+ and she can summon nokens (the singing creatures that heal enemies). Could she do that before? They appear on her last health bar, but if you spam special attacks and rage cancel she doesn’t have time to summon them.
@@tonysoldan I don’t think so I think because it’s a NG+ that berserkers and maybe Gna have extra abilities so now it’s harder to beat them

Yeah I think we all know by now they definitely added new moves to the berserkers and gna. (reports of others as well like the hatred draugr holes). I definitely got caught off guard getting hit while trying to run up and stop a blue ring aoe attack. That 1 hit stopped my sprint and killed me. Cheap AF 😂
@@Im_Blitz I’m fr bout to enable mini boss checkpoints for sisters of illska and svipdagr the cold when one of the sisters used the ice spike ability,I thought there were three of them then I was caught off guard and an extra one fell on me and I died (note:I killed svipdagr already and got the sisters of illska to a quarter of health and even svipdagr got new abilities and I can’t beat this, I wonder how I am gonna beat king hrolf
Wonder how the weapon upgrades works if you're playing the PS4 version and couldn't get the Axe upgrade from not being able to "properly" kill the Crimson Dread in that boss fight
- Update: you get a spare respective weapon upgrade (gale, frozen, or chaos flame) relatively early in the story incase you missed it in your first playthrough
gladly... i hadnt missed a single thing in my first playthrough so nornir chests imidiately jus started giving me dew of yggdrasill plus 2 to all kinda stuff.... i enjoy the changes, i hope they come with some kinda story dlc later, would be the only thing that could make it better the cherry on top, instead of waiting 4-5 years for the next game give us a dlc sometime during those years of waiting. we shall see tho, i had no idea i could change the fur color tho, thanks for that

i am assuming you can start a new NG+ with your NG+ file like in GOW2018. so this means, if you can be bothered to do this, you could therorhetically get infinite stats by repeatedly opening nornir chests for the dew upgrades. there are a few new enchantments requiring A LOT of a specific stat. like the Lunda chest piece enchantment requires 400 luck to use. to get that much you need VERY specific build. but with dew you could eventually have that naturally.... if we include the spears luck bonus, at 10 it gives 60 luck so thats 340.... so you need 170 chests... and if we assume the dews cycle through the stats for the chest openings that 1020 chests to open.... there are 35 nornir chests so thats 29 full playthroughs doing a lot of side content for the chests to get to those stats without using armour to bump the stats a bit.
..... some mad man is gonna keep running the game to get stats to max value. i bet you. will be interesting to see atleast. i aint doing that shit lol

Spear gives 90 luck, not 60, as it takes 4 upgrades to go from lvl 9 to 10 (9.1, 9.2, 9.3 & 10). But it still would take too long to grind that way. I just use the default armor, which gives stats for all 6 types (I transmog the look for something else). Doing this plus using the rond of volition and picking the right charms & getting all the nornir chests twice lets you max out every single stat. 2 playthroughs, not 30. Don't overthink it
When a game developer really loves their community.
The only way I'm playing this thing again is if I can skip all the Atreus sections where I'm forced to play as him.
Other than all the dumb glitches I've had it's alright. At one point my shield disappeared and I had to restart the game to get it back, and I also had a common glitch where it said "not enough resources" when I had like 300 skap slag and 4.5 million hacksilver. Also, no I was not at the point where you lose the shield in the story, I was well past it
Not sure if it's my armor or something else but I take bifrost damage every now and then from attacks and can also heal from it. Im using Survival armor

They should make so if you had extra weapon upgrades such as “Chaos Flame” you could craft a Primal Flame just so it’s easier to get them
Unnecessary as there's actually MORE Primal flames than you need. There's more than 12 in NG+ and you only need 12 to max all weapons. Being able to craft primal flame defeats the purpose of grinding ng+ to get the new unique resource. You're asking for a shortcut that we just don't need. I've fully upgraded all 3 weapons by the time I got to helheim as Kratos. The hel-traveler dropped my 12th primal flame. That means there's enough primal flame to max all weapons out before you even fight Heimdall.
I noticed the cloak color and is the only reason I use the other 2 armors. I hate the top for both of them because it almost looks like a sports bra lol, if they put fur underneath the top of both the armor sets it would look Soo much better and match because you have the bottom that has fur
I was thinking of going back to do ng plus just to do the story and nothing else. Do you have to play with increased difficulty? Was thinking of doing the same for god of war 4.

@@ChiChaRonn77 there’s a little twist (like with gna striking you with bifrost lights as she chargers up and you have to use the sigil/shock arrows to stop the attack) but more or less the same. You absolutely needs to be level 10 though, or you will have a hard time.
They should've added all these when i was playing. I am not NG+ guy and no time person.

This ng+ is a reminder to platinum the game on your first playthrough so you get all the bonus buffs

Did you know that they got rid of the weapon cosmetic change? I was able to set mine weapons which is the blades of chaos to the default setting that look like when you first pick them up I got a video on my account on here on TH-cam that will prove it
You reobtain transmog for ng+ weapons when you upgrade them halfway to max (9.2). So in other words, you can change them back down to previous upgrade looks once you do 2/4 ng+ primal flame upgrades. And this is for each weapon individually.
I’m not surprised Brokk is better in combat than Atreus. After all, the boy.....isn’t ready

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I wanted to clear up if I play NG+ on give me mercy do I still get all the same stuff I would get by playing the hardest difficulty? I started to play on the hardest because I though that would be the only way to get certain armors
Not sure why nobody replied to you, but nothing has been confirmed to be exclusive to GMGOW. There are a few enemy changes that only apply to the top 2 difficulties, but nothing applies to just 1 difficulty this time around, especially not armor. The Zeus, Black Bear, Ares and new perfect Beserker armor are all available in all modes of NG+.

Why would the starter armor be the best when all you already have all your carried over and leveled up armor?
Imo yes. I've maxed it out and at lv 10 the chest piece gives you +100 in strength and defense and +70 in every other state. I'd consider that to be pretty good.
@@locomojoboy2 Because it's the best jack of all trades armor in the game. In fact, it's the only one. You don't see that it buffs all 6 stat types until you upgrade it all the way.

I don't understand why they turned off the traversal ability of the spear for new game plus. It would eliminate the need for some of the backtracking if you could use it from the beginning.
Maybe it was sequence breaking and that would require a lot of work to prevent it from breaking the game. A lot of work went into the update, chances are they thought of that and tested it and it wasnt worth the 5 minutes it saves us vs the hours it would take them if it was possible
@@DHuangy1 I guess that's possible, but I would think going somewhere you weren't supposed to be wouldn't matter since you wouldn't have hit the story triggers to make the boss spawn. There were several areas where you could go to a boss arena early in The Crater and the boss wouldn't be there unless you hit the story triggers that put them there. I know at least one of the dragons was like that as well as the centaur you fight a couple times.
Just not how they do their NG+. I agree, but it was the same in God of War (2018). The blade puzzles couldn't be solved until you learned the winds of helheim ability in the story and the same could be said for Atreus' arrow types. I knew they'd do the same here. You get to use the weapon, but its utility would likely be held back for story progress again.

The yggdrasil dew are also in chests now. Not sure why that is occurring.
That is meant to happen, it's a bonus for people who collected all the nornir chest the first time around. It gives more stats.

You’re expecting too much from new game plus. Adding an entire new boss would take an entire team at least half a year to create. It’s not feasible

You do not know how hard it is to code an entirely new boss with new mechanics, move patterns and asthestics so stop asking for so much and just enjoy this update. Since they didn't add a new boss for 2018 what makes you think they would add one for ragnarok. And it takes very long to create a new boss
