I would say the starting armour, ironically, is the best. Once you upgrade it to max, it gives you more stats then Berserker, perfect armor for a jack of all trades build
The survival set is probably only second to the berserker set. It gives you the most balanced stats, but the berserker gives you the second most balanced stats while also giving you incredible perks.
Man this game is so beautiful fun to play. I love the dragon set, Lundas armor, black bear armor, Berserker and the hunter set. The hunter set does crazy damage, also the enchantments are a huge bonus for any set. Love this game, I'm constantly switching between sets.
In my opinion, Lunda's armor set is easily in a top 5, just because the venom stat that you give to your foes, downing 1 level to the enemies really makes a difference power between Kratos and whatever he's fighting. Btw, same with the Freya's magic that throw venom to enemies, it's the best magic for me
If I was ranking it only based on power level, I would 100% agree with you. I killed both Hrolf and Gna in it without taking damage, and it was definitely one of the easier runs. However. My problem with Lunda’s set is not the power. As I mentioned in the video, bare handed combat in this game is nowhere as interesting as it was 2018 game. It diminished fun for me. A lot. But that’s a personal view. I am not saying it can’t be fun for anyone. And yeah, Seihdr Exhale is top 1. That’s almost non negotiable…
@@bizare_gaming Agree with you too XD, it's really not much fun atack barehand with the same moves all the time, however at the time i unlock the Fate Breaker armor they became my favourite, it's not broken but it's not weak neither. And his design... Uff, best armor desing

I beat the entire end game, Gná + Berserker King, on No Mercy in full Giptumaðr. There are a few ways to reliably help cut cooldowns if you don't get any LCK procs (Hilt of Hrotti, for one), and Soulsteal to complement all the health- and ragestone drops is key to survival especially with no VIT. Use with Storm of Bifröst, Sigil of Doom and as many other LCK procs as you can manage; the max LCK stat will do the rest usually. I had a ton of fun with it.
Personally my favourite armour set is the Dragon Scale armour. I've gotten extremely good at parrying, it gives great strength and defence and the design is amazing.
2:55 Secondary Bonus that gives healthstones for runics was kinda helpful for me. I used with that cool emblem which triggers a 7 seconds lifesteal after grabbing a health or rage Stone. This build actually helped me a lot during Trio Berserkers on No Mercy
Honestly I'll never wear a set besides the base set and the red variant. I don't think the devs put much effort into making armor sets that actually compliment Kratos' physique and skin tone.
I knew vidars chest piece and bracers would be n 1 as soon as I went back to it around mid game I never left it again. Its Strength stats is just insane
For our D tier set, id suggest ditching the chest piece for ares chest, swap the relic to the one that cost HP to use. I'd also recommend jotemhiem set and boon of fury for the amulet, along with the fastest cool down runics you can equip for each weapon. This should allow you to stomp health stones for HP ,rage and damage, use the relic for free damage, and follow that up with runics/rage to get more lifestone drops that you'll stomp to gain life to use the relic and so on. The only downside is the lack of specialized stats on the build and cool down being sub 100. Fun build overall though, 10/10 would recommend.
Awesome video my man. I can tell you put a lot of work into this and it was very helpful and informative. Currently I'm on my second playthrough playing on hard and I wanted to focus on making a good build. I specifically want a nice cool down runic mage type build. Currently I'm running the spiritual set and it's worked great. I'm at the part where I just got the spear. Now you got me looking at switching the 3rd place set I can actually go get now! A fun status effect build.
I know I am late to the party but just wanted to say this was a really great video and I wish you would have time stamped the actual armor names and not just their tier. It would have really helped
To say one armor set is better than the others is not conventional , it all depends on how you play the game or your playstyle and that being said some of my favorite builds were at the start of the video .
Yeah. Builds are different story. My favourite build right now includes Husk cuirass. Which I rated quite low as a full set. Just out of curiosity, what are your favourite builds? :)
I love how many playstyles this game has. There is literally an armor set built for whatever you want your playstyle to be. Personally, I really love the Berserker armor. But with NG+ added, I absolutely loved the Ares and Zeus armor set, they fit my playstyle perfectly. (Ares for being an all out rage, where you can basically drag out your rage for a hella long time because of the healthstones, and Zeus being for sweaty little nerds who just parries and dodges their way out of everything, and striking back with force.)
I actually used Giptumadr’s Armor set as soon as i got it on GMNM and have used it against it all, the berserkers, the trials, the dragons in vanaheim and i really love it, i like it with the build i have rn which is heavily into Luck tho i didnt mean to and i have the amulet piece that gives the storm if bifrost after using the 3 different types of ruinc attacks which really helped me personally in how i would tackle bosses. plus i love how it looks on Kratos. Though im definitely gonna try a new build next play-through. looking forward to see what the other armors do from the vid!
Nice. Ballpark, how often cool-down reset worked? Have fun with your next play through. I actually agree on the looks. From armour of this design, this is by far my favourite colour scheme. But thankfully we have transmog in game, so you can make any armour look like this one :)
I use the chestpiece and I've thought that the reset ok the cool down was over half the time, but I put luck stats up to help, plus it drops the health stones a lot without using the waist or arm pieces
@@bizare_gamingI made a crazy ng+ build with this chestpeice. The perk procs fairly often, and with my build if it does I can do the same runic attack back to back. Here’s my build: Axe Knob: Runic Hailstone Knob Blades Handles: Cursed Emoress Handles Spear Sauroter: Hind of Weightless Recovery Sheild: Dauntless Rönd: Rönd of Deflection Relic: Hilt of Hrotti Chest: Giptumadr’s Breastplate Arms: Bracers of Fallen Stars Waist: Waist Guard of Fallen Stars Amulet Enchantments: Muspelheim’s Force Muspelheim’s Essence Muspelheim’s Protection Fjölkyngi Vald Mannvit Seal of Runic Storm Guiding Light Engraving Fallen Stars Engraving Essentially, what this build lets you do is spam runic attacks. You can walk up to a group of enemies, use your relic to mark them, use a runic attack on three different weapons, get your bifröst storm up, then attack enemies to restore your cooldowns, get “combo” charge, and activate malestrom, making you have a very high chance to get even more cooldown back. When using a runic attack you also take barely any damage, and get 30% of that runic attacks cooldown back if you get hit with any attack. So as long as you’re spamming runic and relics, you have almost all of your runics up, dealing really good damage, and Stu locking everything into oblivion. This sadly isn’t as effective in a lot of bosses because of their runic shields in ng+, but on most side bosses and on normal enemies within build plows through pretty much everything. I definitely agree though that the waist and arms on the Giptumadr’s set are terrible.
My favorite armor set was the fate breaker. I prefer Kratos to not be in bulky armor(tho there some good looking ones) and I also just like the design of it. I know it’s just a palette swap of the default armor set, but it just looks better. And man the color scheme is just very Kratos. That red and gold just will always look great on the character. I also really like the stats. I like that it’s pretty strong but not game breakingly so. It’s a nice all-rounder set which complements the way I like to play. The rage perk is also nice even if I don’t use it often.
the first one does have more stats then the berserker armour but the berserker set have a special stat it makes relics much better same for the survival set that just focuses on the base stats but i think all in certain situations are great sets but i think and i think surtr’s set is great too because it gives great protection and vildar’s armour gives a great choose too because is gives an UNHOLY amount of strength
One correction, there's actually 2 armor sets that come with the pre order. Risen snow and darkdale. Awesome video man! I haven't seen anyone else make an all armor set video. I personally love the mani set I did my last playthrough with it, it's freaking awesome and the damage output is insane when used right. It is a little tougher with bosses though due to their high resistances. I can't wait to see what you got coming. Again awesome stuff and the type of content that's actually helpful!
@@bizare_gaming Your not missing much, they both have ok stats and kinda weird perks. I've personally never used them. There's a couple videos out there about them if you want to see what they're about.
Checked it. On a paper Manis chest plus darkdale wrist plus fate breaker waist could be an interesting combo. Or take lundas set and swap wrist/waist for darkdale, for rage gains, since you hitting poisoned enemy most of the time. But can’t say for sure without testing. Which is obviously not on the table for me. BTW, wanted to thank you for your activity on the channels. I appreciate it a lot, and I enjoy chatting with you.
I'd actually place the Giptumadr set in the top tier (like literally broken, noob friendly tier) because of the chance to get the relic cooldown by 70%. You just need to build your luck up to a respectable amount. Combine the chest piece with the Wrist and Waist pieces of the Berserker set for additional cooldown chances and I've seen vids of people spamming the Hilt of Skofnung back to back in a matter of seconds. It's totally brain-dead because Skofnung can just do the work for you be it against waves or bosses and you can just play like a noob till it is ready to go again..... which it is in few seconds to a minute.
Interesting. I may try it. Though it is salvaging only the chest. Not set as a package. so even if it is an absolute banger, wouldn’t change much in my rating. Another thing is, I don’t like when hilt of skofnung is crucial part of the build. It means it is pretty much NG+ build, with exception of Gna may be. Let’s say skofnung is not an option. What would you chose for this build to fight Hrolf? The realm shift one?
@@bizare_gaming For reference here's the vid th-cam.com/video/_Ri-DRQEN-c/w-d-xo.html But I do get your point, relying on Skofnung means it's only viable for NG+. But the "Fortune's Refresh" perk also activates on some normal hits when a relic is ACTIVE and not just hits from the relic itself (in case of Skofnung) so I believe you could use it with the realm shift build where in when you pop the Hilt of Hofud, every hit you land during the 5.6 secs of slowdown has a chance to get the 70% cooldown for the relic. It's heavily reliant on a high luck stat but when it works I swear it's just brain-dead. You should try it out for sure. I agree with most of your ranking btw. Vidar's set makes a great case for the #1 spot. I just think the Berserker and Steinbjorn's sets should've also been classed at S tier. They are late game but definitely some of the absolute best sets in the game.
@@zeusoftheaegis9038 Thnx for the inputs man. Berserker was really hard to place for me. I had a version of a script where it was second. And version of a script where it was 10th. If it was power driven list, it would me contender for top 1, no doubts. For the Steingbjorn, I could miss the point here. I used chest a lot as part of stun build. But I wasn’t using wrist waist that much. May be there qualities that didn’t click with me, because limited time with it. Regardless, it is amazing set, no doubts.
I ran an entire GMGOW play through with nothing but the starter armor and the fate breaker armor. I gotta say it was the most immersive play through ever. No special abilities, just increase in stats.
Hunter’s ended up being my favorite, mostly because I love the spear and it synergizes with it the best. Noticed in your gameplay you focused on the axe which I felt like didn’t get a big boost with that set. I use it with the hold triangle spear attacks and triangle blades attacks, those both do tons of damage with the Asgard rune set
It actually improved alright. For comparisons I actually beat Gna with Axe and Hrolf with spear. You can checkout no commentary videos on the channel, in No Commentary Gameplay List. Appreciate the comment BTW.
What is the music in the background? Id say from min 3 to at least min 10? It sounds like some instrumental Hendrix inspired tune, but I don't recognize it. It sounds great!
Bro you 21st set if one of the best for runic, pair it with beserker pieces & high luck, you will always have all runic & relics available. I beat Gna & king with it
Yeah people mentioning this build which I have missed. But even then, It wouldn’t change much in terms of how I would place it. One Item from set being used in only one OP build that require super late items doesn’t save the entire set in my eyes. Also I tried it out, and if you are after low cooldowns I would get spiritual chest over giptumandr 10/10 times. Same idea with berserker wrist/waist in action. Cooldown Build vs Gna | GMGoW No Damage | GoW Ragnarok th-cam.com/video/lyjomN9wAUY/w-d-xo.html
LOL mixed sets are better in this game due to the massive lack of resources and that most set combinations of chest + legs/arms often runs counter to the style of eachother. For Bosses: Steinbjorn chest and Raven Tear's wrist and legs. Steinbjorn 's text of "significant damage" is damage over a set amount which I believe is 25 hp. Which while yes at the beginning of the game means something but when you have 300-400 HP by mid to late game that's a needle prick to activate. Do to the combined regen the total health you have will be around a 50-60% increase. which is huge. For General play: Nidavellir's Finest chest and Raven Tear's wrist and legs. Any time you use an execute you will regen around 20-35% of your health back. you are honestly unkillable.
Yeah. I played Steinbjorn a bit. You are absolutely right. On GMGoW difficulty, literally any hit triggers chest perk, with very rare exceptions. Never tried nidavelir chest in combination with raven tears. Sounds interesting. Though if I am playing stun build, I prefer not to stun grab enemies in late game. Stunning Fang effect is way too good.
Just waiting for a mod to port over my gear from god of war into ragnorak 😂 I miss my smoldering armor all though I gotta admit the pyre armor I am favoring so far for pure damage output it’s a game changer. I completely forgot about the immolation and frost for a good chunk of the game 😂
Rizzen set is only for preorders. So I didn’t include it. I want to update video with NG+ info. But I am not entirely sure how to tackle it so it is different enough.
Brother... I know you would have worked hard for this but please don't put background music when you explain to the staff.... And a bit of visuals would also be appreciated like showing us the tiers for have SS. I was not able to complete the video bcz I couldn't hear your voice at all. Grt work though. Thanks
Both. Waves and exploration are as important as bosses. It is just bosses footage is usually more smooth and nicer too watch, that’s why it is mostly in the video:) but as bare minimum I tried everything on Onslaught Trial. But more then half of Items I experienced in Open world. In the end of the day, I finished game Five Times :)
I don't know if it because I screwed up the music/voice over balance, but I was saying ONE of the highest. Not THE highest. Sorry if it is not clearly voiced. I believe it is 3rd place, dragon scale beating it just by 4 strength(On braces). Vidar is obviously 1st by far.
Oh wow sorry I re-watched a few times (although fast forwarded through ones not interested lol) but the demo is wearing different chest piece so missed it whoops! 😂😂 Thanks for responding and glad to see it was top as I’m quite fond of this set but have been debating between this and survival set!
As I said, in the end, it is all just different flavours. Also I absolutely loved Surtr chest plus’s Radiance wrist/waist combo. Let me know if you have some cool combos with Surtrs Wrist/Waist, or if you just played it as full set. Curious.
Sorry m8. This the first video I am doing with music. It sounded good in headphones, while I was editing. But you are not the first one to complain. Looks like I screwed the balance :(. Appreciate the feedback.
I guess it is regarding husk set. But who was talking about parry? Why would you try to parry unblockable? Or If you parry something coming in front, and got hit in the back, chances you will get hit in a split second that shield is up are slim. I don’t see this perk work unless you basically turtling behind always up shield. Correct me if I am missing something in this set mechanics. And on the record, I would never call Parry - hiding behind the shield. I love parry. And I will always prefer parry to dodge, if it is an option.

Another thing is, I don’t like when hilt of skofnung is crucial
part of the build. It means it is pretty much NG+ build, with exception of Gna may be. Let’s say skofnung is not an option. What would you chose for this build to fight Hrolf? The realm shift one?
@@bizare_gaming For reference here's the vid th-cam.com/video/_Ri-DRQEN-c/w-d-xo.html
But I do get your point, relying on Skofnung means it's only viable for NG+.
@@zeusoftheaegis9038 And thnx for watching. And for commenting. Appreciate the discussion. Truly.
I thought it was 70% cool down, not 70% chance for cool down?? I use chestpiece almost exclusively just because of that bonus
This was really informative. Thanks
I ran an entire GMGOW play through with nothing but the starter armor and the fate breaker armor. I gotta say it was the most immersive play through ever. No special abilities, just increase in stats.
My second play through was Survival armour only. It was fun.
@@bizare_gaming Yeee. This is my last run until NG+
I wear the raven tears armor just bc it looks sick lol
What is the music in the background? Id say from min 3 to at least min 10? It sounds like some instrumental Hendrix inspired tune, but I don't recognize it. It sounds great!
This is all royalty free music from TH-cam library. Took me ages to find stuff I like. I believe the band called Track Tribe.
Cooldown Build vs Gna | GMGoW No Damage | GoW Ragnarok
th-cam.com/video/lyjomN9wAUY/w-d-xo.html
Though, I understand it is a different flavour. So it is not like I am saying Giptumandr is a complete garbage. Just not really my thing.
Lindus got me through half the game
Nice one.
LOL mixed sets are better in this game due to the massive lack of resources and that most set combinations of chest + legs/arms often runs counter to the style of eachother.
For Bosses:
Steinbjorn chest and Raven Tear's wrist and legs.
For General play:
Nidavellir's Finest chest and Raven Tear's wrist and legs.
Noicee!
It’s wierd , his worst set was my most used set in my first play through
You belch out health stones .. idk how tjay could be bad . And that 70 percent cooldown is a godsend when it hits .I guess depends on play style .
I actually found the giptmandur chestpiece helpful on bosses on gmgow.
Yeah, I got a lot of comments about Giptumandr chest. Looks like people really like it.
@@bizare_gaming I didn't care too much for the waist or arm pieces, but that chest piece worked amazing for me
The music was throwing me off maybe try to lower it in the future
Thnx for feedback. I already dialled it down in following videos.
rizzen set
also are you going to update this with the ng+ armors
Rizzen set is only for preorders. So I didn’t include it.
I want to update video with NG+ info. But I am not entirely sure how to tackle it so it is different enough.
Brother... I know you would have worked hard for this but please don't put background music when you explain to the staff.... And a bit of visuals would also be appreciated like showing us the tiers for have SS. I was not able to complete the video bcz I couldn't hear your voice at all. Grt work though. Thanks
Yeah, this was my first video with background music and I f***d it up :( Dialled it down since. Thnx.
Damn you're an underrated content creator
Well, I am just starting. Thnx m8. Means a lot.
Only against bosses or also against enemy waves? Your stats with best armor
NG+ updated list?
In progress.
Hunters Armour, highest strength stats in this game?!! What do you call Vidars Armour?
I don't know if it because I screwed up the music/voice over balance, but I was saying ONE of the highest. Not THE highest. Sorry if it is not clearly voiced. I believe it is 3rd place, dragon scale beating it just by 4 strength(On braces). Vidar is obviously 1st by far.
@@bizare_gaming Ok thats good. But I guess you know it already.
gotta disagree with that D set, at least the chest. if you have good luck, that 70% is actually insane
I couldn’t see Vidars set of might on list?
It is top 1 LoL :)
Oh wow sorry I re-watched a few times (although fast forwarded through ones not interested lol) but the demo is wearing different chest piece so missed it whoops! 😂😂
Thanks for responding and glad to see it was top as I’m quite fond of this set but have been debating between this and survival set!
Armor set is all good. But I'm much more down with talisman or builds!
Well sets are basics. Builds are layer on top. What means builds video will follow eventually ;)
Background music far too loud
Yep. Sorry. I dialled it down in following videos.
Berserker Gear should definetly be S tier
If you just judge by power? Absolutely.
Damn I kinda gotta disagree with surtur’s armor set being C teir 😂 wayyyy to low
As I said, in the end, it is all just different flavours. Also I absolutely loved Surtr chest plus’s Radiance wrist/waist combo. Let me know if you have some cool combos with Surtrs Wrist/Waist, or if you just played it as full set. Curious.
Dude !! I cannot hear a thing your saying through the guitar whaling away !!
Sorry m8. This the first video I am doing with music. It sounded good in headphones, while I was editing. But you are not the first one to complain. Looks like I screwed the balance :(. Appreciate the feedback.
@@bizare_gaming It's just a minor learning curve dude ! Keep up the effort !!
"Hiding behind a shield"
Parrying is not hiding at all bro..
What about Black Bear?
Well. This video was before NG+ patch, so no black bear/zeus/ares sets. Never got to create an updated NG+ video
Black bear armor!
Well, video was before NG+ update. Never got to create updated video
You didn’t do the lucky build correct
Elaborate?
Mmm squishy
Wish I could get through the video. Background music is unbearable
Is it too loud? Or you just don’t like this music?
hi
Hello?
