    Late-2019 and this is still an amazing case! I just bought it and it's an amazing deal for the price. Sure it's not super flashy but it's still attractive in its own way. I looked everywhere for a case with all of these features and I still can't find anything that compares while staying at this price point. Truly a case that has stood the test of time. I was floored when I learned that this thing is FIVE years old!

      I bought my 1st one in 2017, was so impressed (Old cases were Antec 900), over the next few years, I ended up buying 2 more of these cases for my upstairs computer and my wife's. I have bottom mounted fans and like this review states, the PSU shroud is a pain in the butt thus I don't use it. I love this case, everything about it, so easy to work on, so easy to configure for any particular build. The price not being out to lunch was a huge bonus also. No regrets of getting 3 of these cases. Not into the RGB thing since the case sits on the floor so I have to go out of my way to look into the glass panel, there are prettier cases but the functionality vs price point of this case is hard to beat! :)

    It's 2018 and I'm barely finding out about this chassis!
    I'm in awe with its features and its design. Torn between
    the Enthoo Pro, or Enthoo Luxe (in white), and this will be
    my first official build with liquid cooling. I'm fairly excited!
    ..and as always, awesome review! Liked and subscribed.

    holy shieeeet, this company is totally gonna make it. Listen; rubber grommets everywere! full radiator support, dust filters all over the place, included fans, side windows, psu chamber, resevoir support, fan hub, sleek looking an I think very good cooling FOR FREAKING $99 ONLY?? holy fuckkkk!!! No case at that price point with so many features has ever been released I bet.

    I forget if I've already commented this in the past but here goes again. I love everything you guys do, this video literally inspired me to build my first custom desktop PC after years of buying laptops. The filming is amazing, the depth of the review, everything, wow. Hardware Canucks is definitely one of my favorite youtube channels out. Thank you for this video guys, it was life changing.

    Bought the Special Edition of this case last year because I liked the white interior and I needed an internal optical disc drive. One of the best cases I've seen, and it's amazing. Can't wait to add an AIO to it.

    This video is a few years old and yet, let me tell you I fell in love with this case! It may not be the highest quality out there, but it is just elegant in its simplicity. No RGB, no window in my case, lots of space for HDD/SSD, optical drives, swap drives and card readers. You want a practical case with 200mm fan and 420mm AIO support? Here it is. This is counter-culture as a PC case and I'm glad I got it in 2020. My previous cases were a Zalman with those ripples on top and the CM Storm Trooper. I just swapped the CM one for fun with this one and do not regret it one bit.
    This case is brilliant!

      Now in 2019 it's still one of the most value cases around. The only thing i could compare it to is the Meshify S2 but that's selling for $90 extra. Nothing else offers such great water cooling options at this price point. AND add on the fact it comes with 3 high quality fans that retail for $20 each separately. It's unbeatable

    I’ve been using this case since 2014 and it’s still going strong with 2 different builds in it. Recently going onto my 3rd build and it’s still chugging along. It was a wise investment then, still is now without a doubt.

  • @SheepInACart
    @SheepInACart 10 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I love the design of this case, well laid out, air or water cooling friendly and fully screwed together for max modding support.
    Not normally into full tower cases, they always seem to be overcompensating for something and have lots of wasted space and\or have a mid tower equivalent that fits mostly the same gear. However in this case (pun intended) they have delivered everything you need for a clean system at a really good price (remember $99 is less than the define r4, NZXT H440 or any corsair case that's not a cheaper end carbide series, yet this is a fully featured full tower).
    In my Phanteks is the next company to be going places in the PC market, now that corsairs plagued by quality issues and seems content with minor updates to there existing ranges I definitely see many builders and modders jumping ship to a newer company that's trying harder, and this looks to be it. I for one am sold and can't wait to see what other cases Phanteks make in future.

  • @beameron
    @beameron 10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I did 7 client builds in Phanteks Cases now and all the builds went very smooth. Modding was very easy too since most parts are screwed together instead or ribbed together. Phanteks is by far one of the best case manufactures i have ever seen and i have very high hopes for Phanteks their future with cases. +1 for Phanteks :D

    Wow! This is impressive. A _ton_ of features, including mounting options, and *no* rivets! All at a sub-$100 price? Shit.... I don't even need a case right now, but I think I'll buy one of these anyway, just to have for a future build. Oh and you could probably mod that PSU bracket fairly easily with a dremel. You might have to touch up the black finish (not sure if it's just paint, or some sort of coating), but it shouldn't be that difficult.

    • @HardwareCanucks
      @HardwareCanucks  10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      HardwareCanucks Is that PSU cover/bracket thing just a painted piece of metal, or is it powder-coated, or some other type of finish? Thanks for the review, BTW, very well done! And I am also looking for a place to purchase one at, just like ***** - Phanteks website lists TigerDirect, Amazon, Newegg, and a few others, but I can't find any listings for it anywhere.

    I just bought the white version from Amazon. I waited for NCIX to get it in stock, but since Phanteks is selling directly through Amazon I took the plunge. Another great, well-edited and well-shot, detailed review HWC/Dmitry!

    • @10ee
      @10ee 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I finally took the white version out of the box. A few quick points: 1) The brushed plastic/aluminum looks better in glossy white than black 2) The "Phanteks" plate is not very well painted. The paint is a bit on the thin side and not as consistently well-applied as I would like, but I'm removing it for point 3) A 200mm Phobya 85mm thick radiator fits on the front fan and there is clearance when the hard disk cages and side plate are removed. I'm so happy. 4) The PSU plate is now held on by thumbscrews so I'm really happy about that too. Overall impression is one notch down from sheer perfection!

    I have been planning a build for a long time but I'm saving until I can get it. My hardest choice of my build has been the case. I was first stuck with the Corsair Air 540 or Fractal Define R4. Later on I settled to get the Fractal Arc Midi R2.
    now it seems I must get this one. It looks like it puts my other choices to shame. I wasn't expecting them to launch a case at this price after they launched the Primo. That case was already incredible but this, for the price point, it's my go to case now.

  • @mallenwho
    @mallenwho 10 ปีที่แล้ว +13

    i think i just found the case for my next computer....
    I loved the design of the primo, but was way out of price range. The only thing i miss from the primo that the pro doesn't have is the LED side part. I would be happy to pay an extra $20-30 for that, as it was a big part of the design for me. The slight drop with light on it.
    Oh well. By far the best featured case i have seen of any cost short of the primo =D

    • @SimonBraat
      @SimonBraat 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If you miss the LED part wait for reviews on the Enthoo Luxe (HWC has a preview from CES) it has the LED part and MSRP was rumored at $139

    • @mallenwho
      @mallenwho 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds Great. If they do the aluminium construction on that too it will be perfect.
      I'm thinking about modding this to have a metal exterior anyway, regardless of what the thing ships with. =D

    I just built my first full rig in four years using this case and must say that I am nothing but pleased. While it might not be the most beautiful looking case on the outside, it sure as heck is beautiful on the inside. This review is spot on with its pluses and minuses. The only real negative is the PSU cover kind of prevents the use of a fan at the bottom of the case. I might have one or two other little gripes but they're not worth mentioning. I paid $113 for the white version and it was money well spent. This is the best case I have ever owned. Yes it is huge, but what else would one expect with a full tower? I have mine jammed with more hard drives and cards than I ever thought possible. Simply put, this case rocks.

  • @devilmikey00
    @devilmikey00 10 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    At that price this is a giant open palm bitch slap to pretty much every other company right now. Seriously they could have charged another 50 bucks too put it more in line with other full towers with this feature set and it would STILL be a top contender.
    Also on a side note Phanteks fans are up there with noctua for silence and performance (the 140mm Phanteks are better IMO) without costing a fortune or locking users into that horrible brown/beige color scheme noctua won't let go of. Honestly haven't used or seen a product reviewed by them that hasn't been of the utmost quality. Glad these guys are around.

    I currently own a Fractal Design Define R4 and it is a wonderful case. This may very well be my next case though because it has so many features i would love to have and for the price it just crushes competitors. Phanteks is putting some real pressure on other companies with this case. Good stuff.

    I wish i found your channel sooner. I have this case. I love it . My case prior was NZXT Air Flow King. They both have great airflow.the Enthoo pro has far better real estate. I had 7 fans in it lolol. Now just just 5. 200mm intake and exhaust are the same but i added 3 140 mm fans 1 in at bottom and 2 exit above cpu. Max cooler fan rpm is 1600.. but its rather loud. Your fan curve video allowed me to gain the confidence to reevalute the curves for a quiet and gain of performance of 8%
    Kudos 👏 I admire your thorough fan review. Im going to get new fans 🤪 i wan some of those gentle typhoons

    Building a video editing pc in this case because the storage capabilities of this case is just insane. 6 3.5" HDD cage. 4 2.5" HDD brackets. And 3 5.25" optical drive bays that can be changed into 5.25" to 3.5" adapters for more HDD storage. And my video editing pc will have over 200tb of storage for video editing. Great video man. Well done. From Ethen.

      There is a lot of plastic on the outside.

    • @ZelphrinsGaming
      @ZelphrinsGaming 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Apart from the exterior, the entirety of the case is mostly plastic. The choice to go with screws instead of rivets is another aspect of chassis design. You might even go so far as to call it lazy, but because the case is brushed aluminum, it makes for a sturdy build, and excellent design cue. No dust filters. Also, the case isn't as large as the standard full tower, but still supports up to E-ATX boards. The case is cheap because of materials used... not because of features.

    Great review dude, you explain things pretty well and the video is top notch quality. I just have a couple of questions on the case though: Firstly, can you fit an NZXT Kraken X60 in a push/pull configuration? And secondly, If you are liquid cooling and want to use the software with the liquid cooler to control the fans, can you plug the Enthoo pro fan controller into a PWM chassis fan header on the motherboard? So basically the idea would be to have the radiator fans controlled directly by CPU temps via the liquid cooler manufacturer's software, and the chassis fans controlled again by software but not directly linked to the CPU temps
