      In late 2015 I went with the NZXT Source 530 and still love it to this day. But, when I was in the market for a new Full Tower case, I could not find any from NZXT anymore that I liked. And here Phanteks still is with its 2014 Enthoo Pro still selling like hotcakes. I picked up the 2018 Tempered Glass version and I'm very happy. Sorry NZXT but you lost a customer this generation.

    I like that this was designed with the future in mind. The reservoir mounts and radiator placement options, as well as the SSD mounts, make this a case that you wouldn't have to drill full of holes in the future for those sorts of things. I don't particularly care about the window, the only mentioned weak point, so this could be my next/final case buy.

    2024, and I'm still loving this case. It's rocking a Supermicro Epyc system, and I put a 4x 3.5 hot swap cage in the 5.25 bays. Since mine is (and always was) a server, I went with the solid side panel version.
    It's fascinating to see how far Linus has come in 10 years.

    • @enfieldjohn101
      @enfieldjohn101 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Indeed. It is a 10 year old design, but it still looks and performs better than many of the new cases we can choose from today. I'm glad Phanteks is still selling this one.

  • @D4rkR3bel5

    Phanteks has really outdone themselves. If you were eyeing cases like the NZXT H440, the Corsair 750D, or even the Fractal Design DR4 or the Core 3500, I would seriously recommend this case. The 750D is a full-tower, yet it only has support for a rear 140, top 280 or 360, front 280 or 240, and no bottom-mounted radiators, due to the spacing between the fan grill and the frame. Yet Phanteks managed to get a bottom 280 and a top 420 in this case.

    If you're on the fence about buying this case, BUY IT! It's a badass case and I have had many of them. All the cables were already cleaned up and running other cables through it was easy as hell and everything looks super clean if you install everything through the right holes. This case is pretty big and air flow is excellent. It's also somewhat quieter than I thought it would be. I figured it would be loud. By the way this must be an old review because I got the case an didn't have any flaws at all, no scratches and even though it's mostly plastic, it looks like brushed metal and kind of feels like it.

    • @nictheperson6709
      @nictheperson6709 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      1. There exists something called video date checking. Don't just say it must be an old review, check it yourself.
      2. What does that even have to do with the scratches? It's the bad luck Linus had combined with the shipping all the way to Canada and the bad packing material.
      These are all minor things to point out but it's a pet peeve of mine I guess.

    • @supervillain3213
      @supervillain3213 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      nictheperson since this case launched the reviews have mentioned scratched windows and panels, i would bet enthoo changed the packaging a bit to deal with it.

    Running a 5900x and 3060 12gb. Both air cooled, and both overclocked. Even in 2022, it's an excellent case. Max 5900x temp in Cinebench R23 for the CPU after 10 minutes is 63 Deg C. Max temp on the GPU is 62 Deg C running Heaven continuously for 10 minutes. Even with drive bays still installed, with 4 drives mounted in the bay area. And to repeat, they are air cooled.

    • @enfieldjohn101
      @enfieldjohn101 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, air flow in this case is incredible! With fans installed in every possible bay, even one on the drive cage, I can keep my case under 80 Celsius even when I'm giving the CPU and GPU a workout playing demanding videogames.

    Once Linus bothers to review it , it must be good.
    looking at the size of this case, i find it so funny that their is not such thing a mid sized towers anymore.
    just full and monster size.
    full is the new mid.
    This my friend is not a mid tower, and 21 tall 9 wide and 21 deep,
    Any bigger and it would be a super tower.

  • @FragileJesseLord
    @FragileJesseLord ปีที่แล้ว +7

    "Something more useful than optical drives" I want this case because I can HAVE optical drives. I don't like having that extra disc reader I have to let sit loose on my desk just to watch movies.
    Also extra USB ports/SD card readers, and even a bonus slot for a floppy disk reader if I can find one :))

    • @enfieldjohn101
      @enfieldjohn101 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm with ya. I still enjoy watching movies and listening to music on CDs. Am I the only one still burning 'mix tapes' on CD? It's fun and keeps my original CDs from getting scratched up since I mostly listen to my 'mix tape' CDs. I also have a big stack of PC games on DVDROM that I like to play. I put two of my trusty old Western Digital DVD-ROM drives (one that can burn discs and the other that can't - I still use a drive that can't burn discs because some of my games act like they are trying to prevent me from pirating them if I put them in the DVD-R drive) in this case and I still have an empty bay that I could install something else in. I've thought about putting a 3.25" floppy drive in there just for fun. I love having all this space in a case!

  • @enfieldjohn101
    @enfieldjohn101 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I love how modular and easy to customize this case is! It was so easy to decide which parts to include and which to leave out. Very easy to work inside of and upgrade, even for my big hands with long fingers. This is the main reason why I decided to go with this case. I was tired of cramped case interiors.
    I also like how sturdy it is. Most of it is made of metal that feels pretty durable. Even the plastic parts are fairly stout. I can remove the top and front plastic panels to clean it (which I have always done for every PC I've owned once a month) without worrying about breaking the tabs that hold them in place. It's a bit heavy, but I don't tote it about to LAN parties, so that's not much of an issue.
    The filters are also a nice touch. They keep the innards quite clean, even where I live - a desert that has caliche limestone dust in the air all the time. The finest particles get through the mesh and the little side vents on the front cover, but nothing else does. I've had my case for three years and have yet to find any lint, hair, etc. inside it.
    The window in the side panel is a bit scratch prone and the panel itself rattled a bit after I built the system in the case. I solved it by putting a bit of black electrical tape along the edges. It stops the rattle quite well and the case still looks good.
    I like the screw holding box a lot too. The case was packed well but yes, they should have used better foam in the box. Otherwise, it was well packed and my case survived the trip from FedEx well.
    I still recommend it. Fortunately, you can still buy a new one from Phanteks website for about $100.

    My family PC was built by my dad in this case, and im now the one who looks after it. after about 1 or 2 years, its still going strong, the only thing is that the front headphone jack has come loss some how, and you now have to push your headphones in weird directions to get it to work in both ears. But other than that, its easy to clean, after not cleaning it for almost a year! there was very little dust build up, and no performance issues. And not even using most of the fans (only one in the front and one in the back) (along with the CPU and PSU fans) i have never seen an issue there ether. And that with a i7 7700k (cooled by a 212 Evo), GTX 1080, and 32 gb of ram and a 850W PSU. good case, would highly recommend to first time builders, as it is very roomy too. Ok bye.

    Running this case for over 7+ years. Side window is still intact and has a good bit of breathing room for RTX cards. I have the white color version, and it didn't yellow at all.

    I was lucky enough to get this case for my new build for the wife . I finally broke away from the LGA775 . . Selling point was the drive bay for a CD Rom and the ability to also accommodate a 240 water cooler on top . There was mountains of room making setting up and connecting the board easy . The Asus Z 690 , 240 strx water cooler and 2 WD Black nvme 500 gig boot 2tb storage and a Samsung 500 gb ssd for back up operations 850 wat power 32 gig ram . The down side to this case while cleaning filters and fans I stubbed my little toe on it and fractured the toe … the case survived no damage .

      yes you can, but really you dont even need to considering if you put nothing in there it still looks good. you got a stealth shield and the window barely shows it. well now that i think about it i think you can fit a 200mm fan on top if you remove it. that gives me an idea.....

    • @loganpennington9104
      @loganpennington9104 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. I would do this if you have no use for an optical drives or some HDDs, this can give you some room for two 120mm fans or a water radiator.

    I feel this is like the Phanteks version of the NZXT H440, it's got the slot fan mounts [which i believe all cases SHOULD have] it also has the PSU shroud, which again, i love the look of, it also has the fan hub..... but, you know what i'll say there. I like the case a lot! clap to Phanteks for making a well made case with good qualities, but, I prefer the smooth, sleek look to the H440.
    Listen up, if anyone is debating between this or the H440, here are the differences.
    the NZXT H440 is more of a silent design with watercooling in mind and also, the H440 has no 5.25" Bays, so if you use a DVD reader, 5.25" reservoirs or anything else, get the Enthoo Pro!
    The Phanteks Enthoo Pro is a very solid looking case with very nice cable management with its PSU shroud and velcro cable tie downs, bearing in mind, as Linus said, the packaging is a little........ mehhh.....
    So to conclude:
    if you're a person who hates a loud PC, the nzxt H440 is for you..
    BUT, if you want to go extreme balls to the walls and pack a rig with lots of gpu's and need somewhere to put it all, the Enthoo Pro is for you

      Hello. Could you please estimate, if the TG will fit or could be modded onto the classic version of the case? I cannot seem to find the glass itself anywhere. I hope phanteks will sell it seperately :)
      Additional question: Does it include side dust filters ? I had to make my own side dust filters for the front panel, I hope they include them :)

      To add to this comment, a RoG board is really a waste of money if you are just getting started with building gaming PCs - unless you are in it for the appearance, which is perfectly fine then.
      You really should go z97 chipset and 4690k. Same price as your current parts, but unquestionably better performance.
      My recommendation is to change your motherboard to this (www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132133&cm_re=asus_gryphon_z97-_-13-132-133-_-Product). It has the same build quality as a RoG board, without the premium price that comes with RoG. Use the money you save to get a better power supply.
      Also, here is a link to the 4690k, for your convenience (www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117372&cm_re=4690k-_-19-117-372-_-Product).

    I have a question at 3:24 is that the PWM hub next to the SSD? Also there is a 12v connector attached to that hub that is not long enough to plug into anything where does that go then thanks for the help.

    • @rjfaber1991
      @rjfaber1991 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, that is the PWM fan hub. As for the SATA power connector, it's a female connector, so it's not meant to plug into anything, rather you plug a male SATA power connector into it. Except you don't, because that will mean the fans attached to the hub will run at full speed all the time. I'm not entirely sure why it's there to be honest, so I took mine off altogether and stowed it away in the accessory box...

    its a great, just really great case!and with price, and options for customization i think its a no-brainer. the only drawback for me is the weight, i need to have my computer placed on my desk(which is made of hardened glass), so i cant have the case there. its 12,5 kg without anything in it, so full of stuff its roughly 20-22kg. So just be sure you have a more sturdy desk, cause you dont want a 200mm fan drawing in dust from the floor, it will no matter the dust filters:D

    Just ordered this case yesterday (without the window) and am looking forward to it. I may eventually look into getting a custom window put into it though. Obviously this will raise the price point, but at the same time I'll be sure to get one made of material that isn't as bad as that suggested in the reviews. **shrugs** I can live with that for the sake of the flexibility this case clearly provides.

    These are the best regular cases on the market IMO. Phanteks in general, that is. I had the Enthoo Primo, so that's what my experience is. For a non-custom case, I think they're the best there is and for amazing money. Plus they include things like really good fan controllers, very nice cable management options, and fans that are pretty much unbeatable. No reason to upgrade the fans whatsoever. if you can spend the money, Case Labs are the best cases money can buy, in my opinion, though. But that's more of a "boutique" case.

I'd like to use a 150mm tube reservoir for watercooling.... i was gonna use the bracket it comes with in the accessory box (the one that mounts on the hard-drives)... however, how can i root it from the reservoir, to the pump mount located under the bays, to the radiator etc?? :)
