7 years later and I'm watching Joanne and her very informative review of this case. It will be here in 2 days and I have just learned everything about it. It's nice that the drive cages have places for fans but I don't see where there is room for them with the front fan installed. But it's a great though. Of course with inflation the cases are $30 more. Thanks for this.
Here I am 5 years later and just bought this case but with the hinged tempered glass side, honestly I love it, and I just got it, it's pretty damned awesome still for the price.
@@jeromebaldonado1561 I have a MSI X570 Ace with a 3900x, 32gb of ram, and a GTX 2070 super. Windows is on a gen4 NVME drive, and then I have a sata m.2 2tb drive I use for games, and a 4tb hdd for everything else. I carried over a Blu-ray drive from my previous computer, so I had to get a case that would support a 5 1/4inch drive.
One of the best investments i ever made. Carried this girl from the post office in blistering cold with snow reaching knee hight. Had to take several breaks to catch my breath as the box was gigantic and a bit heavy.
9 years later, also just got one of these (price has been jumping around $115-129). Still the best value for a "high end" case out there, and this review was great. I was surprised to learn how long ago it was designed. They sure nailed it! Some Changes: There are now 2 more SSD mounts above the Phanteks logo on the side of the drive bay area (above her hand @14:25). They now have 4 pin connections on the Fan Hub. The front panel is now 2x USB3 and 1x USB-C, no more USB2. I'd have preferred the 2x USB2.
Whenever anybody refers me to a case review, my first question is this: "Did Joanne do the case review?" If their answer is "No", then I always reply, "WHY NOT???" You're terrific, Joanne.
Currently building my first PC and I’m SO GLAD I found your video. You really go in depth on what this case can do, and how to get around it. Thank you so much!
I love this review. No one ever (literally and metaphorically) breaks down a case and goes so far to show every detail. I am considering building my first PC with the Enthoo Pro M. Are you going to make a review?
Thank you so much for this review! I just wanna say, I've spent WEEKS trying to figure out what case to buy for my upcoming build (Coffee Lake with 16GB ram and a DH-15 cpu cooler and the NZXT g12 bracket + an AIO for my 1080 Ti FE) and looking for cases was really a headache. I had to choose between the Define R6, Meshify C, Cougar Panzer Max, CM H500P Mesh, Silverstone RL06, and some other cases that I've already forgotten. At least this video clarifies everything for me now. I've had my doubts first. But I am totally convinced, especially during the disassembly part. Thank you so much! It's a really great review! Subscribed to your channel now :D
Great video and well explained. I know this was recorded 8 years ago, but never hurts to ask a question, I hope. I have noticed that there are the power connectors on the back of the case. The question is, why are they there if there are the same connectors on the power supply? Is there a place where you can connect the power cable to the case on the bottom then use the supplied connectors on the Motherboard? Just wondering.
My Enthoo Pro finally shipped ! I decided to get this after watching your review. "THE FEATURES , THE FEATURES!!!" LOL Joanne you are too cute. Good work with the reviews, I'm in love with the case.
Excellent review! Just purchased one and you have the absolute best review with complete detail and extremely helpful. Been too long since my last build and read many good reviews for this brand. Prb buy another case like this real soon now that I've been informed. I will be searching for your other reviews as well ! Five Stars!!!
probably the most well informed and most well spoken video I have ever came across about this case. I'm glad I decided to check this one out. Thanks Joanne.
Man i wish all reviews were like this one. Great job Joanne. Appreciate the vid, even though its been out for awhile i just bought this case. This breakdown helped me figure some stuff out that i didnt know about! Cheers
word of warning: those small openings on the side of the front panel do not have any dust filters, so unless you cover them with something your case will be full of dust in no time.
Wow! its now Jan 2018 and still an amazing case with all the options, quality, and features. I've built 3 builds for me and two other ppl in this case, and keep looking for a new case. But there is never anything for a decent price with all that this case has to offer. There's a reason they still make this case after more than 5 years.
planning to do my first 'ground up' build throughout the next year or so and choose this case to do it. i'm trying to keep each component below $200 bucks and space the buys out to keep things affordable, and this case seemed to be a good mix of good price with lots of upgrade options.
I recently ordered the Phanteks Enthoo Pro TG which is mostly the same with a new tempered glass side panel, pretty excited! I think it's an amazing deal for the price for sure.
Thank you for this video, i am building a plex server and the thermaltake case i got was the cheapest case i've ever seen! Upgraded to this one for my massive hard drive array. Thank you!
So few reviews for this case, I have been looking for a good case that can house optical drives, and yes, it is useful for someone who still have blu-ray discs. There is no case like this nowadays. The version of this case has lost the drive bays. And luckily, this case is still available, but has become a bit more expensive for some reason. But still, a great and detail review. Thanks so much!!
Thank you to HECK for removing the top cover, I was debating between the other phantek cases because I thought this one foolishly didn't have a top dust filter, as my previous had a magnetic one, no other video I watched on this case showed the filter in the top cover!
This video convinced me that Phantek model is the best choice for a big tower , much more interesting than the Corsair ones . I also like its simple design . Thank you .
Case looks nice. Great features. Not sure if the CPU header is used for the hub on the back of the motherboard and how the CPU fan connector will reach back there. Most newer boards have a 4-pin PWM header and a CPU 4-pin PWM header next to each other so maybe they are suggesting to plug the hub into the alternate 4-pin PWM header, not the CPU? Nice tie downs, cables, grommets and space. The included fans are also 4-pin which is a must with today's newer boards. Nice of Joanne to show it off and describe it's details of course.
Just looking at this case for a brand new build when rtx 4000 and brand new cpus arrive later this year and thank you honestly thank you for this video! I think it was very informative :) 👍🏽
hello Joanne :3 I think will be a great idea to have a regular ATX board and a video card example inside the case so people can see how all blends and work together < "sorry that might be too much right? > lol but will help visually (visualmente)"Spanish" to take a decision later on, great video by the way
Here in 2018. Just bought a variant of this case, and have perhaps a newbie question (although I've been assembling systems for more than 10 yrs). If you plug the fan hub into the cpu header, should you just plug your cpu fan(s) into the hub? Thanks to anyone in advance for your help!
I sure do! What I ended up doing is connecting the PWM Hub to a regular Chassis Fan header (Which also supported PWM) on the MoBo, and plugged the CPU Fan in the CPU_FAN header. Everything works fine like this.

How is the case? I'm thinking of also buying this case for my first build in about 2 weeks because I'll be buying it for black friday, have you had any problems with the acrylic panel?
Kyle Kenzitt I live outside the US, so all the computer pieces are still being shipped by sea... still gotta wait for it. You'll probably have it built before me

Hey Joanne what is the exact distance from back fan to optic/hdd bay? Edit #1 Thank you for info about window quality, didn't hear anyone mention it. I will order lexan sheet. What is the thickness of window on case?
What a review!!!!! Man, I wish I had watched this video first before buying a case. Would have saved me tons of time trying to make up my mind. So thorough! I don't think I've ever seen such a quality and complete review!

Very informative review. It could have been shorter though. I would love to see a you do a build on the case.I'd get the non window version and just use my own materials for a window
Excellent review Joanne , its a shame that newegg seems to have dropped the ball on case overviews since you left, hardly any at all. In fact product overviews are few and far between.
What do I need to do exactly to get the fan controller to work with pwm. Do I need a motherboard with 2 4pin pwm headers? Just ordered this and that is the one thing I'm kind of confused on.
It would help a little if you showed users like what a motherboard looks like in there or something. Helps us Visualize what the case might be like. I have it, and I filled it with watercooling, and it looks wonderful.
Could u do a pc build video? That would be nice! But ya thanks for the review now I figured out what case I'm going to buy for my new build I'm working on!
can i ask... can i connect the PWN HUB to asus maximus hero viii alpha in cpu fan header and i put the power pump cable of corsair v2 3pins on that PWN HUB of phanteks casing this my 1st time building gaming rig. Sorry my bad english
13:00 Put phanteks cable to CPU_FAN in your motherboard then rest fans plug to HUB. If you plug phanteks cable to different socket on your motherboard your all fans will start full speed. If u connect your cooler to CPU_FAN in motherboard will be no good because if u wanna use HUB you must connect phanteks cable to different fan socket then all fans start full speed.
I saw what she said, but isn't it a bit strange? Are CPU_FAN sockets on the motherboard different than PWM sockets? Is there no way to have the case fans controlled related to the GPU temperature? That's especially important for me, because my CPU, but not my GPU, will be watercooled, so the CPU might have low temps while the GPU is high.
you can plug the pwm hub into any four pin connector on the motherboard. don't plug the sata power cable into the hub, and your fans will be powered by the motherboard instead of running at full speed. the instructions given in the video are 100% fabricated.
I just ordered mine yesterday coming from a Cooler Master haf xb.... I got tired of my current case needing to occupy space alongside my PC desk which is only 4 ft by basically 24 ft and I need to condense things in the room and get rid of a pointless wobbly stand that my PC case is still sitting on. I was torn but among this case, the fractal design Focus G and I think the thermaltake Versa H25 and maybe one other PC case. How are you liking you're phanteks Enthoo pro?
@@motoryzen The PC cases you mentioned are very attractive. Those are all old fashion traditional PC cases. Which are similar to mine, Phanteks Enthoo Pro. No inside partitions. Have 5.25" bays. I personally prefer to put the case down from the desk to the floor. Which will remove small potential vibration. Because I am still an old fashion guy, who is still using HDDs alongside with PCIE SDD.
@thunderbird2495 I have multiple Blu-ray burners in which I'm still adding movies to my massive movie collection comma because I refuse to deal with Netflix or Prime or Disney plus or any other Media or TV shows vendor in which they can decide They can remove shows that I like that I've already paid the monthly subscription just to watch Given that my desk is a raising desk made by flexi spot Comma often I am trying to make a point to change the height of my desk from sitting for me To standing sometimes back to sitting And given the height Difference Of certain parts of the desk and I want to make sure I have maximum room underneath the disc Comma I'll have to put mine on top of my desk right beside my monitor which is not a problem. Otherwise I definitely agree with putting the big PC tower on the floor to make reaching things such as the the io on the front and the Indianola Blu-ray burner drives

It otherwise stays put when screwed in :D
If i have to put the fan controller onto the CPU-fan slot, where do i put the real cpu fan ?
You'd plug the cpu fan into the hub and control all the fans through the mobo bios.

+thub chub I'd put it up top
+YoZync whats the point of building a pc if you don't learn why it's awesome :D
went to go see how to remove the top without damaging it, and immediatly got depressed as a single tech lover :). great job :).
Could u do a pc build video? That would be nice! But ya thanks for the review now I figured out what case I'm going to buy for my new build I'm working on!
In the future yes!
Gotta afford the parts at the moment >.<
I'm glad my video could help you out!
can i ask... can i connect the PWN HUB to asus maximus hero viii alpha in cpu fan header and i put the power pump cable of corsair v2 3pins on that PWN HUB of phanteks casing this my 1st time building gaming rig.
That's especially important for me, because my CPU, but not my GPU, will be watercooled, so the CPU might have low temps while the GPU is high.
you can plug the pwm hub into any four pin connector on the motherboard. don't plug the sata power cable into the hub, and your fans will be powered by the motherboard instead of running at full speed. the instructions given in the video are 100% fabricated.
hey joanne would you recommend this case over the Obsidian 750D ?
Thank you Joanne! Very informative.
I love this kind of old fasion style case. I just bought it.
@thunderbird2495 I have multiple Blu-ray burners in which I'm still adding movies to my massive movie collection comma because I refuse to deal with Netflix or Prime or Disney plus or any other Media or TV shows vendor in which they can decide They can remove shows that I like that I've already paid the monthly subscription just to watch
Given that my desk is a raising desk made by flexi spot Comma often I am trying to make a point to change the height of my desk from sitting for me To standing sometimes back to sitting And given the height Difference Of certain parts of the desk and I want to make sure I have maximum room underneath the disc Comma I'll have to put mine on top of my desk right beside my monitor which is not a problem. Otherwise I definitely agree with putting the big PC tower on the floor to make reaching things such as the the io on the front and the Indianola Blu-ray burner drives
Can you do a review on the Phanteks Enthoo Primo?
Wow, that's expensive, only if somehow my budget can afford that haha.
I'm curious about it!
Joanne Tech Lover Yeah its a very expensive case but the features it has. Im thinking of getting it for my 1st rig but i'm not sure about it.. What case do you recommend?
