      @dusuandersonlee ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@phuketexplorer Data shows that Mercedes are used to introducing too much technology into their cars and then forget to polish it unlike Toyota. Toyota still use the old technologies they introduced many years ago because they try as much as possibe to refine it. German introduce theirs and leave it to die then they introduce another. But when it comes to Engine, they can last. We have mercedes that last over 20 years without any mechanical issues but with their built-in computer modules, they are not realiable. I also made a research and found out that. most of the computer modules are not built by Mercedes: mostly Bosch whiles Toyota Denso's is an in house technology industry. If Mercedes must be reliable again, then they should maintain their technolgies they introduce and refine it just like. the new E class they introduced will have a different OS powering the car, who does that?

    It's definitely impressive as a novelty item, however this wears off rather quickly. The feature that one will use the most is the navigation - and that looks dead on arrival; the cheapest iPad currently on sale has better graphic performance than that. The lag would drive me crazy to the point to not using it.
    As for diagnosing and fixing this out of warranty - that should be fun!

    Going analogue today is an excellent way to distinguish your luxury vehicle from every other brand with interchangeable interiors. Imagine getting into an EV that has analogue gauges, a hideaway infotainment screen, copper or brass detailing and controls that have juuuuust the right amount of feedback and make satisfying sounds. Even one of Bugatti's design directives for the interior of the Chiron was "no obvious technology", because they wanted the interior to not age like an 80's Aston Lagonda. Very nice video Rory. But for the record: Window venting, sentry mode, hepa filter...these are all Tesla firsts. They are well executed by Merc, but these features have been standard on all Teslas for years. Just saying.

      Good point. And highly relevant. Also for the record: tesla was not the first electric car. There were many other electric cars before Tesla came along. 🤓

      Very sad they couldn’t afford to put a modern processor in a $150k car. But then again, they need a reason for the owner to upgrade in a few years.

      When carwow did an EV range test with a Merc (EQA I think) against a Tesla, Kia, Jaguar and some other, it ran out of juice *significantly* before it’s claimed range.

    Nice tech but pity its on an electric car. I say that because my favourite place where I go on holiday has literally no charging points anywhere near. It seems very dependant on having a mobile connection which again I would struggle with. Can you access these features from the cars fob?

    This Mercedes Benz is really quite a cool car.
    But it must be said. In a Tesla you also get:
    - ability to control windows, climate and more with the Tesla app
    - hepa filter standard on all model Y, S and X’s
    - camera based security. Ability to view all sentry mode events plus notifications when car has been breached
    - rich maps and navigation (ok not 3d but that’s what Google earth or Apple Maps is for… you can just do that on your phone)
    - smart navigation (syncs to your calendar and navigates you to your appointments, etc.
    - cloud based profiles; can even adjust other Tesla cars to your configurations
    - remembers where you folded your windows or knows where rough roads are and adjusts suspension accordingly (on S and X)
    - best safety features via software that are always being improved.
    All this is standard too. You don’t have to pay £7K for a minor software upgrade
