Rory was basically in my backyard, I commute to this area three times a week. That said, someone should have warned him about altitude sickness. We advise people not to go "to elevation" for their first week or so here, but I understand he probably only had a couple days to shoot this piece. Great job by the videographer to capture a lot of the beauty and unique wildlife that's unique to our area. This was fun watch!
@@AutoTraderTV haha I could see it creeping in when you got to the lake! Hopefully you get to come back during the summer and drive to the top, plus drive iconic Pikes Peak just an hour south of where you guys were.
I did that once. Straight from the car rental at Denver International Airport into the mountains. Instant altitude sickness and nose bleeds, especially since I usually live 1/4 mile from the beach.
Rory, if you are reading this - thank you and AutoTrader for the exceptional quality of production. Additionally, you are always a joy to watch and even more so to listen. Your choice of words and tone are spot on. A brilliant presenter always leaving us on a positive note. A true professional. Keep posting.
The level of cinematography in this was breathtaking. Rory, not only makes you see the car for what it is, he takes you on a car journey with him. Brilliant.
I just love the quality of the Autotrader reviews paired with Rory's storytelling approach and presenting. Just a joy to watch and certainly a notch above most other car channels.
RORY IS BACK FINALLY THANK YOU!!!! Love you! Voice, amazing opinions and comments, talking about topics related to the car like mining, body language and facial expressions, all amazing no one compares to him on most modern car review channels Keep growing man, you are a legend
@@AutoTraderTV sorry maybe missed them, I know you never left. I just love your videos. I respect your colleagues who also review on this channel, I just don't want your share of the reviews to reduce is all I meant. To me you are the legend of this channel. Love the genuine curiosity and exploration peppered into a car review. A Brit teaching an American (me) about America, on a car show. You have won me over, this year, Rory. Hats off, sir! You are now what we call "must see TV" =)
Living in Colorado, it's usually safe to subtract 50-70 miles from the EPA estimated range. People say 300+ range is overkill, but I want a reliable 250 range for ski trips (which is typically cold with steep grades). An estimated range under 300 is too much of a gamble
Rory my man, respect. You have the heart of the people! This type of review is what sets you apart. Not just the car or the place but the legend also. Keep it up.
Just watched your review back to back with the Car & Wow one…… Much as I love C&W and I’m never not amused by them. Your review gave it the gravitas of a David Attenborough BBC2 documentary from the hey day of the BBC’s finest. Young C&W came across as that rather garish ITV programme that your mum and dad always turned their nose up at. Mum and Dad are long gone now and I love the finer things in life including my own little AMG. Great car, great State and Great review. Well down Rory and all the team 🤓🤓👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Wow, masterpiece of a modern car intro! Well-done Auto-trader. Such an enriching experience this was not only about the car but bit of history as well!
Rory, thank you for your wonderful presentation. The MB EQS SUV is looking like another milestone in the history of Benz. The backdrop of the beautiful outdoors of Colorado accentuates your team’s amazing storytelling ability. Keep out up - but next time, bring a few cylinders of Oxygen for those high altitude episodes!
okay Rory has an actual future on the History channel. I can literally watch this man talk about anything. I'm already planning my trip to Nevadaville 😂
Thank you so much Rory.... I don't have words to explain what I feel when I look at this video I have sensation to watch a movie a mind-blowing movie.... I love so much the western songs
Have to say, amazing videography, really amazing film, especially in 4k, some of the scenery, car wasn't too bad either, liking the sound of the sound system would love to give that a go! Top marks guys!! 👍👌
History and a modern car. Nothing beats the story that tells us how country roads in America lead us to an awesome isolated town in the mountains on a new Mercedes EQS SUV. I would have loved to see the story climaxes with John Denver's song, Country Road. This is lovely! Thank you, sir.
Great review, Rory, as usual.... How would you compare its off-road capabilities to the new Range Rover, as well as the vehicle's overall performance to the Range Rover? Thanks!
I'd say it's more refined than a Range Rover. It corners better. And is more comfortable. Off road it can probably go most places the Range Rover can. Perhaps I'll do a head to head one day. -RR
@@AutoTraderTV Wow. I'm a bit surprised, to say the least, based on what I've heard about RR's overall customer satisfaction. However, I trust your professional experience and sound judgment. I sure hope you do a side by side comparison of the two, one day. Thanks again, bro. Cheers 🍻 👏🏾
I’m guessing altitude affects electric cars much less than a conventional gas car. However we all know temperature certainly affects range on electrified vehicles. There are pluses and minuses to the electrification strategy. As a 40 yr old car guy, i am so excited for the electric vehicle era. It’s going to fun! This was a great review
We literally just got a whoooole National Geography video with a car review thrown in!!! Rory, never ever stop with the amazing quality of your content!
I'm so glad you got to come to my home state. It is truly beautiful and I love that you saw it's beauty and its energy. And thank you so much for coming here showcasing that amazing car and my amazing state welcome! Come back anytime!!!!
The future of cars is very bright, once all these cool features start to funnel down into what’s considered ‘standard’ features it’ll be a great time to buy a car. A time where you won’t need to sell your house and live in the car to be able to afford modern tech. P.s nice informative vid ❤️ could watch these all day - good going Rory 😊
@@Jedimack7 True, and I completely agree with you. But I am also hopeful that all manufacturers will be trying to outdo each other to the point where they will all add these things and charge extra for it - but to stand out some will realise biting the bullet and including things to stand out from the pack as standard options, will be a thing. I remember when simple things we take for granted ie reverse parking sensors, abs, power steering, seatbelt reminders and even power windows was a hot feature to pay for until the odd one or two started using the fact that it comes as standard as a selling point - someone like Ford is usually first to it. I’m talking a long period of time obviously but I’m hopeful things speed up :)
Excellent Rory! You ended your review at Summit Lake. I have been watching you for your excellent auto reviews but this one takes the cake to see you in my backyard (Denver and the Front Range) glad you enjoyed it!
Always a pleasure to watch autotrader video's. Fantastic filmed, filled with enough car information and background stuff! One of the few channels I watch the full video from.
Beautifully done review. Really shows the contrast between our drive for technology at the expense of the natural beauty our world has to offer. But we all know this truck is destined to be a mall cruiser.
Rorrrrry Rorrrry. I frequently watch carwow and other channels but,,,,,,,none comes close to you in presentation. Rory, You are the Best. This is Isaac, a Ghanaian studying in China 😊
This is the most detailed loveliest review i ever watched made to look like a movie every detail so sweet. Notice how the presenter looks like martin luther king jr. Nice brilliant work.
Well for starters it looks 1,000x better than a Model X... and I OWN a Tesla. It also rights the ship that the EQS Sedan was trying to sink. I think this is a banging job by Mercedes Benz. The only gripe is the efficiency. For a car with 108kWh of usable battery, 270 miles is poultry. And lets be real, actual mileage will be like 250.
I certainly think the range will be greater than the 270 Rory got- in most cases, the vehicle won't be climbing 12000 foot high peaks. I drove the vehicle this past Sunday on the same off-road course that Rory drove. The vehicle is incredible. We drove from downtown Denver on I-70 to the off-road site, did the off-road course and then retuned via Rt 6. Our vehicle was using less energy than Rory's was getting on the steeper mountain roads. We were seeing numbers in the 2.7-3.0 range depending on braking (energy recuperation) and gradient of course. Still not what is advertised, but what is advertised is the maximum, not the average.
Another classic. The information in this video will be covered in about 45mins by some people yet it can’t be like Rory. Also thank you for taking us back memory lane with the fusion of truth about the battery industry. I only want Rory to do something that can only come out best from him. EQS VS MODEL X. We await your response. Thank you
Great to see you here in the US Rory. Great review and lovely views of course. Props/respect from the beautiful Pacific Northwest (Portland, OR). I would def take this over the sedan counterpart.
I like your reviews, but there's one area I feel you should pump up a bit, the audio system. In THIS case you of course discuss the cabin augmentation sounds but how's the music? Especially in upscale vehicles, it's something worth considering in many cases.
Honestly Mercedes should pay you guys to the rights to this video. It's all the promotional content they will ever need. Just amazing story telling. I'm not sure even they can sell their car this good.
