Even if this may not be a deer tick, the rules still apply: do not burn the tick with a match or cover with vaseline! Take a good quality photo of the tick at the time of removal (get a clear shot of its back shield) for identification purposes and be sure to show your doctor to discuss possible prophylaxis or treatment.
