    To impose strict regulations on junk food consumption will not be so easy as it did on cigarette smoking. We are talking about billions and billions of dollars of investment risk here.

      Taxing junk food would be hugely helpful!
      Average people will eat less unhealthy foods when they are more expensive than grass fed beef 🐄 and vegetables. 🍆 🫑🥬🥦

    Been five years never touched junk food ! And extremely proud of not being addicted to sugar, sodium or grease !
    I have been inspiring my fellow mates and family to live like they dont exist- like drink water than coke, eat fruits or a sweet potato from the supermartet. instead of mcD or KFC. People are slave of their mouth.

      What else we should be slave of? That is the only thing which assures you of having the balanced diet. Instead don’t be slave to stress. Take for example, the late famous journalist, Kushwanth Singh who had all kinds of ‘wrong foods’ and lived 90+. And Warren Buffet, who is 94 years now and eats donuts, salty chips with lots of coke.

    The change should come from ourselves because the parents are also encouraging the children to buy junk they don't restructure them because those busy schedules first should be educated in society and avoid the development of Ultra Process food . Not educating them and keeping a struck rules to avoid junk food because the lifespan is decreasing and new health problems are coming.
    It was not a tv show it should change the society more

    • @Kathakathan11
      @Kathakathan11 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      A woman has 2 little cute children and they ate only at home, except when they joined the school, the school was strict too, but the friend circle, those birthday parties spoil kids a little. And parents think that it’s fine, birthdays come once in a year. But then once a month the family goes out to eat, for movies. So that’s 2 days a week. And firmed circle grows, then also parents friends have their birthdays. And that’s how from zero to 5 days a month junk becomes a norm.
      Now she is trying to restrict that, thankfully, the kids are cooperative, but with more tantrums, they are learning tantrums she is losing patience too. Being parent is difficult already and new age parents are actually doing good if they keep children away from junk and digital junk too.

    Food prices are already very high. Healthy food is simply unaffordable. Eliminating junk food will just lead to mass starvation. The first step is to eliminate mega agri-food businesses which buy food cheaply from farmers, make a lot if profit and sell it at very high profits to consumers.

      It is affordable if you know how nutrition works. You don’t need fancy meals to make your diet healthy. There is a lot of misconceptions there about nutrition. If you just stop junk food which is deep fried food and high in sugar in your daily diet, you will still be more healthier than 90% of the people in world. Just make your favourite foods at home with ghee or cold press oil and calculate your calorie intake daily to make sure you are not over eating. It is a challenge at first but you will slowly get used to it and will never go back to ultra processed junk food. Avoid palm oil at all costs. I have lost 14 kgs in one year by just following this and doing exercise 4-5 days in a week. I have never felt more better in my life.

    Pulki with seductive English language speaking skill. A stunning beauty at Indian media outlet. But sometimes her news delivery is totally guided by national interest. While it is always good to protect national interest, but telling the truth is best idea to make world better place. Better world protects interest of all nations in my opinion. That said, indeed, junk food does have gray areas, as it compromises health of working populace. Keep doing Good job palki!

    I’m so glad Palki & Firstpost are covering this very important subject. Because people are so gullible & ignorant. And most schools don’t teach nutrition & food. Hospitals around the world are full of sick people with preventable illnesses (diabetes, hypertension, digestive issues) just to name a few. The junk food industry is a TRILLION $$$ dollar industry worldwide. And a huge problem.

  • @D.von.N
    @D.von.N 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    It isn't as easy with the junk food as it is with cigarettes or drugs. There is now vaping and that is nother issue. I had a home cooked junk: ramen noodles, yesterday. Measured water, added a big handful of frozen mixed vegetables, boiled for a few minutes, added a knob of butter, spice mix, crushed noodles and when almost ready, transferred it to a deep plate (bowl) and added two raw eggs on top. Into the microwave for 2 minutes and voila! Quick, cheap and nutritious what would otherwise be junk. What is killing us with the junk culture is more about what we don't supply to the bodies, than what we do. Nitrates are more abundant in greens and vegetables, but they also contain compounds that protect our health. That isn't in the processed meat and bun, i.e. burger. We need to take a different approach, since food is a necessity, unlike smoking: instead of telling people what not to eat, tell them what they should eat for better health. That is a better strategy. To make the junk less atractive you have to offer equally or more attractive alternative. Simply telling people what not to eat won't work.

    Junk food is more economical and easily accessible..especially for those on the go. But yes, I do endorse that they are bad.

    • @oneofus7062
      @oneofus7062 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sure, there is room for both. I am somewhat wary on the idea of institutions getting to decide what one can or cannot eat... Sometimes rules can come with good intentions only to get misused later on...

    Life is short. After I expire, I can take away nothing with me . Neither the money I earned after toiling hard in my younger days nor the time I wasted on earning them nor wl I do anything with 10 years of life I saved by not eating junk food . Ofc I stay away from smoking and drinking, but I enjoy all kinds of food to a moderate degree.

    I never understood ''junk food is cheaper''. I wish it was cheaper. Personally I stay away from junk food cuz its more costlier than eating healthy.

      In India healthy food is cheaper than junk...but looks like in western countries it's easier to buy burgers than fresh vegetables

  • @natraj6120
    @natraj6120 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    We live in an era where accessibility for junk is easy while health benefit food are less convenient or not anybody want to take efoort to cook in home. Just takexoo an example junk cool drinks r present everywhere as less as at 10rs but the same coconut water is available at 40rs which is not affordable for everyone everyday

    When you open up the economy and invite foreign investments into the country, a bit of the foreign lifestyles and some of their cultural trends are bound to come along. Their capital is not gonna come in in isolation.
    I guess, I've expressed this view just too casually, but it's worth pondering upon.

    You can’t change people’s habits overnight just say you minimise people’s consumption of junk food there are soo many factors to consider 1/2 the people working in those restaurants would be made redundant, people paying more for fast food life expectancy to go up soo people live longer and also require more care, demand for fruit and vegetables meat and fish, more rainforests turned to farming land, seas overfished. Medical weight loss solutions (ozempic): no longer needed, More reliance on Ai for medical wellness and soo on, I believe fast food like smoking, vaping and alcohol consumption are vices but also equaling scales in life.
