    I love it when Travis puts this training out to the public for those of us that cannot attend his classes live.

    This is a small glimpse of why Travis is an amazing instructor. What sent him apart for me was he does not teach technique, he teaches principals. Technique will only take you so far. Principals will allow you to take yourself to your own limits, huge differences. Thanks Travis for a great video and being a real person witch is far more important in life.

    I like actually seeing Travis perform these drills because he illustrates it well and also creates a good benchmark to work towards.

    Those last two were beautiful with that movement. Can you imagine running into a guy like this? Rounds on target so quickly and accurately, being elusive at the same time.

    Whoever controls this channel please make Travis do more of these. Of everything I see as far as drills and tactics are concerned nothing comes close to the knowledge I obtain from listening to him. Awesome vid, keep them up guys!

      we are working on it! Travis is a busy guy and its hard for him to devote a lot of time to video when he is all over the place (world) and R&D training etc... BUT there are a lot of blogs coming since we did film a lot in one setting and will be releasing a couple every month! from now on! thans for the support

    I tried doing this yesterday at our departments range. It is actually really simple to get good at. I am still super slow but when you go and try it, it will probably feel really natural to you.

    Travis, that was awesome! I am relatively new to handgun shooting and have shot well over 10,000 rounds(countless dry fires), don't think I will ever get to where you are. Again, absolutely amazing! I could watch folks like you and Ron Avery all day, it is so fascinating to me to watch you guys work.

      +Andy
      Shush you. :)
      I remember going to the Citadel before they closed and the lady saying "you ain't going to California are you"
      "No ma'am" says I show her my CA Id for verification.
      She puts my "purchases" in my bag (very discreet, a Victoria Secret bag, but then I am not sure if I should be more nervous about the bag or the actual contents inside being revealed) and completes the purchase. I walk out of the store waiting for the Spanish Inquisition, since you never expect them, but it seems my expecting negated their arrival. Which was unexpected. The only Spanish thing I saw was the cook at the buffet later that afternoon, making me a mean enchilada.
      Needless to say, "I" would never offend our "progressive" state by bringing home such barbaric high-capacity liberal-slaying clipazines.

    We are constantly ingrained with that speed, intensity and violence of action mentality...tactics, tactics, tactics. Very informative. Definetely peels away the layers and examines the underlying issues. Excellent. Thanks Travis. Learn something every time I tune in.

    The way you break down shooting and tactics into such fine detail is amazing critical thinking. It not only gives answers to questions but also presents questions with answers that many do not think of. It's refreshing to see this as oppose to the norm being "do it like this because its better" etc. My goal is to train in at least one of your classes one day, but my failure point is time currently. I have a new son, and a business to run, so I have very little time to travel. I hope you come to Las Vegas as a destination so that I may have the honor of your instruction. Mick-

    Another note, zero is very good and doesn't deserve to be blasted. We are all so lucky for the age we live in to have access to this thing called TH-cam, we can see what all the great instructors have to share, mr Haley is soooo good at articulating his lessons, certainly one of the best, but taking training in person is needed too, I have got so far to go with my learning, and not doing it for law enforcement, just for fun, mayby a small local competition and to be more proficient in case the worst case scenario does pop up to be able to handle it better. Again Mr Haley, you are amazing!!

    Just wanted to stop by and say thank you for producing these videos. I recently regurgitated a lot of your stuff while teaching a class at my department. The class (geared toward plain clothes CID personnel) went really well. I used a few of your targets from the 8.5x11 target pack you have available and the Lucky Charms target was a big hit. Wish I could take a class in person, but for now these videos are great.

    what makes a person faster is also "awareness" of the environment around them, this will add time in your favor and give you a head start even if the attacker is a faster shooter. since real life isnt a beeper or buzzer, its not the fastest that wins but the first to be aware and place shot accurately, there have been many plain citizens with no tactical shooting experience who have won shootouts based only on awareness, because being alert is the same as speed, you can also tell by body language when a threat is going to happen, many full length videos on youtube that teach body movements and how to interpret them.

  • @scootle74
    @scootle74 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I chuckle, since in CA, we can't do a 12-round drill like this on a single (10-round) magazine... I guess we get lots of reload practice!

    • @ddyoder
      @ddyoder 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yeah i think we need to do the "2242..." or maybe "22411" haha

    • @ManitobaWolf
      @ManitobaWolf 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Same as up here north of the border.
      But with a round in the chamber and a full magazine, it gives you a total of 11 rds so you only need to drop 1rd to do this drill as "2-2-3-2-2".
      This puts you at slide lock for an speed reload, then the search and assess...

    • @scootle74
      @scootle74 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sadly, CA-compliant magazines do not do so well loaded to full capacity (10) on a closed slide. The lawyers are deathly afraid of that scary "11th round" sneaking into the magazine. For reliability reasons, I generally download mags to 9.

Are the m&ps as durable and reliable as glock? I heard from someone before that shoots alot of uspsa that the m&ps would need barrels and parts changed alot more frequently than glock. What's your take on it between the two?
