Started carrying 4oclock position but kept having my shirt ride up and everyone could see my gun. I got tired of having to touch my shirt or readjust. I bought Tier 1 Concealed Xiphos V2 holster and added a wedge to it. I carry in the 2 o clock position between the belly button and hip. WORTH THE TIME AND EFFORT TO SWITCH POSTIONS. My job involves intense movement bending, slouching, kneeling and I can be comfortable all day without needing to touch my gun and it doesn't print in the slightest. These are the few things I learned that I will pass on to anyone in the situation I was in. 1) Buy a Kore ratcheting belt (Must for convenience and comfort) 2) Must add a wedge to your holster (Must for convenience and comfort) 3) Give the new position a solid month before saying you hate it. 4) Get a slightly bigger pants size (Must for convenience and comfort) 5) Wear your pants slightly on top of your hips NOT BELOW OR ON (Must for convenience and comfort) 6) DO NOT TIGHTEN THE FUCK OUTTA YOUR BELT. Adjust the belt to slightly snug (Must for convenience and comfort) I did these things and I converted to appendix and I wont turn back. Im 6'2" and 210lbs with a beer belly. If I can carry this way you can too. It just takes time to adjust but its sooooo worth it.
I just bought a Shadow Systems MR920L Elite and was thinking about buying the same holster you mentioned you have. What are your thoughts on it? I've seen a lot of great reviews, I just want to get some more thoughts on it from other people before I buy it. Thanks!
The struggle is real. When you have a lot of activity in your daily life appendix is the most concealable but also very difficult with a few more "stone" on you. I like your approach. Losing 5 pounds can make a huge difference in the comfort of carry. You can do that in a month. God bless brother!
@@T_bone All it takes is a good belt, adjusting your pants/size your pants to what you need, and really getting use to having a chuck of metal on your belly. You get so use to it, that I can't go back to 4 o clock
I completely agree about the Kore Essentials belts. I have three of them now and won't go back. I even use them when I can't carry. They are very stiff but also very comfortable.

I used a doctor scholl's gel shoe insert as my wedge. Cut the gel insert to the size you want and adhere it to your holster. A lot more comfortable. There are some videos about it
Slim fit holsters is one of the only brands I’ve found that comes standard with both a claw and a removable wedge. Also they have lots of different clip options. I’ve owned lots of brands that are good, but I think slim fit is one of the best right now in terms of the options and the gun models supported. For belts, Vedder makes an excellent belt specifically for appendix because the buckle is very low profile. It’s a game changer compared to those cobra buckles or instructor belts.
Just ordered one and have high expectations. Lots of options! They are one of the few companies to actually make a holster for my gun/light combo. Went with grey carbon fiber and the DCC monoblock.
Big fan of the DCC clips on my Tenicor. Only issue is when wearing on lounge pants it’s dang near impossible to pull the clips off because they’re so grippy! I often use G-Code Incog for that (plus they have they soft, fuzzy kydex option). My favorite belt is now the Foundation Belt - it’s awesome!
I am a big fan of Vedder LightTuck for appendix. Its simple and adjustable. The claw is essential and for me the WEDGES are game changing for concealing. Great video! Kudos
Another great video, Myles! Thanks for the introduction to Tenicor Holsters. I took advantage of the Tactical Hyve discount code on a holster for my P365XL. Can't wait to try it out!
Tenicore Velo-4 comes with camming bar, with wedge, and 2 discrete carry concepts metal clips. Rock solid comfort. Stays put so index point is always the same. I love mine
I have been shopping for a good belt and holster. Tons of options but it was confusing because I really didn’t know what a good choice would be or why. This video armed me with the right information so now I know what I am looking for and so I can pick the right holster and belt for me. I have been stuck because I didn’t want to make the wrong decision and waste an excessive amount of money fumbling through multiple wasted purchases. Clutch information!!! Thank you!
This is an awesome video! I’m new to CC and I am searching for a holster. I didn’t know what the difference between claw, pillow, wedge and all these other terms on company websites. This video is excellent for those of us trying to navigate tgis stuff for the first time.
I use Tenicor Velo4 appendix holsters with both my Glock G43X and Sig P365X. They are fantastic holsters and paired with the Discreet Carry Concepts clips that they use they are extremely secure! Give Tenicor a try, you won't be disappointed! Almost forgot, Tenicor's Zero belt is amazing, like was mentioned in the video, the buckle is almost non-existent and uses voodoo magic to hold it's self in place with reverse friction, it's great!
Did you buy the 365 or 365 xl holster for your 365x? I was looking today and didn't see a 365x option. Figured 365xl would have been the obvious choice.
I wish I'd skipped the wedges and wings and do-dads.... and went right to the Bravo Torsion. Its perfect (for me. YMMV). You don't need to buy a bunch of extra stuff to make the holster work. Buy one that is designed right in the first place. For reference, I use it for a g19, and 5" 1911.
Great job and very good information. Thank you 6 years ago when I started there were little to no videos to be found. Much to take use from your video again thanks 😊 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
I have learned to put the thumb very firmly over the back plate and rear sight. This allows you to take a proper shooting grip without resetting your hand.
Really like his presentation. Low key but he imparts real confidence. His experience is showing! As an aside the camera operator almost made me seasick...
I used a gardening knee pad from Walmart and some velcro to make my wedge and it works great. Just make sure to put the soft loop side of the velcro on the holster that way its comfortable if for some reason you take the wedge off.
I also taped some thin foam to the bottom the holster that touches my leg. Gives a bit of push back like a wedge and also pads from the Kydex rubbing on my leg. Using a bravo concealment torsion holster.
I appreciate your instructional. I’ve been trying to carry AIWB for years. The most comfortable has been a High Noon Mr. Softie for a S&W J-frame. Semi autos have been more difficult to carry competently while sitting or driving. I have tried wedges on holsters designed for AIWB or just plain IWB, but still haven’t been completely satisfied. Haven’t yet tried a claw. I’ve used good belts, but lately the most comfortable is the Groove 6. Anyway, lot of good info to try.
Great video! My criteria for a P365, AIWB rig is that I must be able to wear it comfortably, every day, all day long, behind a tucked, button down shirt. I’ve tried a number of Kydex holsters with various clips, wedges and claws. The wedges and claws add a lot of depth to the package, creating discomfort as well as making it very difficult to conceal behind a tucked shirt. I’ve landed on a Galco S2-838B with their tuckable stealth clip and a Kore belt. I’ve had this rig for roughly 18 months (I’m on belt #2) I wear this setup at at the office and at play. On the motorcycle, in the pickup and in the shop. I don’t bother removing the rig at home until I head for bed, it’s that comfortable. The downside to having a setup like this with me at all times is that it is not as accessible as a rig behind a loose cover garment. The grip rides low and to minimize printing, the holster cant is opposite of that in the video; you’re not going to break any speed records getting off the first shot unless there was time to prepare beforehand.
The belt is just as important as the holster. I use a CYA holster with a Kore Essentials belt for my EDC M&P Shield. The belt is adjusted quickly and inconspicuously while sitting and standing.
Very helpful. Thank you! Consider wearing a light colored top: I missed many details because the black gun on a black background had poor contrast. I am in the market for an IWB and your tips are extremely helpful!
Your range's background looks like it's the private range in Escondido, CA where I've shot at. You need to pass through multiple locked gates to get there.
I just started carrying appendix carry. I actually carry with the muzzle more centerline. I just got a Vedder IWB Light Tuck holster with the wing and it’s really really comfortable and conceals my Canik Elite Combat perfectly. But I just can’t get past the irrational fear of shooting my “junk” or somehow if it fires, getting me in the artery in my leg. I absolutely know that the gun will not just fire itself without the trigger being pulled and my gun has a striker block safety that doesn’t allow the firing pin to hit the primer without the trigger being pulled all the way. And my Vedder holster completely covers the trigger guard on both sides. It’s just that irrational fear. I’m embarrassed to say, but I have been carrying it in the appendix position without one in the chamber and I know what a disadvantage that gives me in case I ever had to use my gun in self defense. I’ve been doing this for a month now and at no time has my trigger ever engaged. It’s something I just have to get over. It’s embarrassing!
Just carry with empty chamber and ignore the tacticools telling you otherwise. The chance that you would not have time to rack it is again an order of magnitude lower than ever needing your ccw. Better with an empty chamber than not at all or with constant fear of castration. Let the internet warriors shoot their junk off.
Always been wearing my buckle to the side. Only use one clip on my holster with the mag carrier built in, and just cant that mag deep and its like I don't have a gun on me lol
Yea, rule #1 get a good belt, the ratcheting ones are great, and after that its all about adjustability, I use a Dark Star Hitch Hiker, and I do like it, but I am still looking for "the best". As far as clips go, I sat go Dcc or go home.
I’m dealing with a ride height problem. It’s one of the holsters you have in the vid. I like it but finding the right clip to change the ride height has been a challenge.
Thank you for good information. When you figure out what works for you. Use lock tight. I purchased a leather iwb appendix with a good metal clip, a good friend recommended it, chaffing my leg, stuff, very wide holster, everytime I draw it the holster it came out, yes the screw was almost coming out, an left the firearm in it for over a month, not much better, would not bet my life on it.. Good luck !
Consider the 1791 Gun Leather moldable appendix holster. I know, my first response was WTF but I bought one anyway to check it out. I am absolutely sold for two reasons. First you can mold the holster to your firearm, what a concept. Second, I live in a part of the country where it gets very warm and I do not always have the option of wearing a top layer. Kydex against my skin pinches and really bothers me. The 1791 is so comfortable against your skin you can wear it under a tee shirt. Another one of the reasons I went this way was due to the fact that I could not find a holster for the new CC pistol I purchased. They make this holster in 5 or 6 sizes so no matter what pistol you carry they have a holster that will work.
The problem with discreet carry clips is the virtue as well. They grab well. But I often go in and out of legally restricted spaces several times a day. I need to be able to take the holster off and put it on quickly and in a way that doesn’t call attention to me.
Great information in a well produced video. I wish this information was around when I started my search for the right holster, it would have saved me a lot of money.
Great presentation Myles. All your points are spot on. Living in South Africa I tried a couple of holsters, and eventually went for a holster from Shinobi Kydex as it ticked most of the points you mention, and it wears fantastically well.
Agreed switched to pull the dot soft loops almost immediately on my appendix rig and fixed blade kydex knife sheaths years ago never had one come undone.
I've got a to for you. If your going to do a video on dark holsters at least wear light colored clothing, or have the sunlight shining on your front side. 🤪
Love the info! Just started carrying appendix. Very comfortable with the Alien Gear shape shift but, has plastic clip. Any suggestions on similar holster with metal clips? Also for bigger waist line.
Great video. Just to add, people may not be able to carry the gun they want to. For some, a small J frame revolver is the most comfortable to carry appendix. You can use soft holsters and the grip is way smaller than an auto. I know people piss on having only 5 rounds, but it's enough in my opinion for civilians. A lot of talk about huge capacity and carrying extra mags comes from LE and military guys. Totally different scenarios than a civilian walking to the store. I know sub compacts are all the rage, but a small J frame is a great option to carry appendix and you won't even notice it's there with a soft holster. Not to mention, double action revolvers have a lot of advantages in an urban situation, like being able to safely transfer it from a holster to a pocket if things might get sketchy. I know that no instructor will teach that, but in the street it's different.
One of my big problems is the little extra meat in the front of my belly. Im not a large man by any means, but its amazing what that extra layer in front can do to make appendix carry more difficult
I really really wish you had wore a white shirt 🤣 the sun glaring down on you with everything being black makes it really hard to see anything and I wanna learn as I'm new to handguns and concealed carry. Everybody in the comments seem to already know what's going on and are just fans of the channel showing support 🤣🤣🤣
Nice video, good tips. But you should have worn a light colored shirt so you can see your dark pistol and holster more clearly. Dark on dark is suboptimal!
Too bad that these highly recommended companies that I hear about only have holsters for certain models, of course not any of my guns. WOW, I would have never guessed that the correct move was for me to choose guns based on the best holsters…instead of how I researched which guns I wanted to buy, then afterwards I started searching for holsters for them.
Very good video. One suggestion is to use a lighter colored shirt when you are doing these gear reviews. There’s not much contrast between your shirt and the holster and that can make it difficult to see the finer details
Very helpful information. 👍🏻👍🏻 However, wearing black might not have been the best choice...black gun, black holster, black clothing. Some contrast would have made it easier to see what you were describing. Us newbies benefit from clear demonstrations.🙂
I have a veder light tuck and have the claw wear it approx 2 o clock on my body and without cinching my kore belt to the point it’s uncomfortable the holster likes to move around and I’ll have to keep adjusting my pants/holster to keep it up while working long distances etc
Great video, excellent tips. It would be easier to see the holsters and position variations if you were not wearing a black shirt. The holster gets lost in the background. Consider a white or tan shirt next time.
Although this video is older and I'm a little late to the punch, I noticed you didn't mention tuckable clips. These are good for those of us who dress fashionable and tuck there shirt in. Watched about 100 videos trying to figure this out and only the guys over at Tier 1 mentioned this. It's like a lot of you reviewers don't take into consideration that some of us concealed carry folks wear more than jeans/cargos and our shirts untucked. Anyway, great video. Thanks for the tips.
I've had to learn about ride height the hard way. As a robustly fluffy fella I have to carry low when I appendix carry for comfort reasons. This makes it more difficult to get a good grip before drawing so I've had to teach myself other ways to safely draw
Good vid with good tips, but still haven't overcome the bad feeling of pointing at my femoral! Have tried with iwb holsters I have, with no luck. Will make use of ur advice when I try another holster.
That's something we all had to get over real fast. Same for the people scared to carry with one chambered, it's part of the job. Your firearm isn't gonna shoot on it's own
Just useless advice, if the holster is good then there’s ABSOLUTELY nothing different than it being in a safe. The gun can NOT go off, period!!! If your not comfortable with that then DO NOT carry yet Lol not trying to be mean, just blunt!! Good luck 👍

1) Buy a Kore ratcheting belt (Must for convenience and comfort)
2) Must add a wedge to your holster (Must for convenience and comfort)
3) Give the new position a solid month before saying you hate it.
4) Get a slightly bigger pants size (Must for convenience and comfort)
5) Wear your pants slightly on top of your hips NOT BELOW OR ON (Must for convenience and comfort)
6) DO NOT TIGHTEN THE FUCK OUTTA YOUR BELT. Adjust the belt to slightly snug (Must for convenience and comfort)

Really thorough explanations and great example of safe firearm usage.

The galco stow n go is a great appendix holster. For kydex I like my ANE design for the CZ p10c. Both are perfect

I could not get the gun to sit comfortably until I put a cant on the holster to have the grip pointing up. Helped significantly.
I have a Vedder and a Tactipac coming and from what I’ve heard, these are some of the best so I’m hoping they’re good lol.
Check out "The Pillow" it's a wedge that is very comfortable. I love mine.

Great video and excellent points. Much appreciated. thank you.
Love this channel so much, good explanation , good tips, with love from Borneo of Headhunter.
Thanks for this awesome video. My P365 is getting less comfortable so I will defiantly look into adjusting the cant. Thanks again
Glad it helped
Great tips!!! Thanks
bummer the code doesnt work, might still get one tomorrow, great vid, thanks
Great presentation Myles. All your points are spot on. Living in South Africa I tried a couple of holsters, and eventually went for a holster from Shinobi Kydex as it ticked most of the points you mention, and it wears fantastically well.
Glad the video was helpful!
Living in South Africa you should have an AR 15 mounted through your sun roof!!
Great video. Very detailed more than most.
Soft loops are actually very secure. They are not normal "buttons". They only engage one way and will not come undone when drawing.
Agreed switched to pull the dot soft loops almost immediately on my appendix rig and fixed blade kydex knife sheaths years ago never had one come undone.
There are both kinds. PTD are superior and should be mentioned in the video
Thanks! Still figuring things out myself
Happy to help!
I bought 2 p365s because of you. They need to pay you big time!!! Great vid
Any recommendations for carrying and tucking in your shirt? Any holster/belt recommendations?
Great tips! Thanks for sharing!
Just started CC. Had to buy a new wardrobe of pants and need to lose my gut. That will be an new level of comfort.
Tip: lose the beer gut
Even a lifting muscle belly will make it near impossible if you have significant core development.
I like to eat, and carry @ 4 o'clock :)
If I stuff the appendix carry under my beer gut, I get better concealment. Lmao
Yep
I'm tryin brother I'm tryin!!! LOL
I've got a to for you. If your going to do a video on dark holsters at least wear light colored clothing, or have the sunlight shining on your front side. 🤪
i got a holster for my FN 509 and have been wondering what that claw was for. thanks lol
Good stuff here. I came to hear, here, to gain some knowledge here.
That kid in Greenwood Indiana needed 10 to put that shooter down
I had no idea. Great info
@@daMillenialTrucker Your name says it all🤣
Outstanding info
I love your guys products! Got a bunch for my P10S!
Wish I could get rid of my beer but I would love to carry this way
Hi miles great tips as usual thank you
Nice video, good tips. But you should have worn a light colored shirt so you can see your dark pistol and holster more clearly. Dark on dark is suboptimal!
Tier one Xiphos. Get the wedges. That’s all of the advice you need, you’re welcome.
Agreed.
Very helpful information. 👍🏻👍🏻
However, wearing black might not have been the best choice...black gun, black holster, black clothing.
Some contrast would have made it easier to see what you were describing.
Us newbies benefit from clear demonstrations.🙂
any tips for appendix carry for people who have a belly?
I think it depends on the holster for that. If it sits low on the waist band then itll sit under the belly and wont print much
I have a veder light tuck and have the claw wear it approx 2 o clock on my body and without cinching my kore belt to the point it’s uncomfortable the holster likes to move around and I’ll have to keep adjusting my pants/holster to keep it up while working long distances etc
Great point...
Great video, excellent tips. It would be easier to see the holsters and position variations if you were not wearing a black shirt. The holster gets lost in the background. Consider a white or tan shirt next time.
I'm too lazy to look. So which Holsters have all these features, which do you recommend?
Although this video is older and I'm a little late to the punch, I noticed you didn't mention tuckable clips. These are good for those of us who dress fashionable and tuck there shirt in. Watched about 100 videos trying to figure this out and only the guys over at Tier 1 mentioned this. It's like a lot of you reviewers don't take into consideration that some of us concealed carry folks wear more than jeans/cargos and our shirts untucked. Anyway, great video. Thanks for the tips.
The verder iwb lighttuck's clip is a tuckable design. I have 4 of them and like them
I practice with snap caps or my sig m17 air soft that has blow back
I've had to learn about ride height the hard way.
Your firearm isn't gonna shoot on it's own
@@cleanbeats07 Yup overcoming fear with guns, if you are afraid you shouldn't carry yet.
Just useless advice, if the holster is good then there’s ABSOLUTELY nothing different than it being in a safe. The gun can NOT go off, period!!! If your not comfortable with that then DO NOT carry yet Lol not trying to be mean, just blunt!! Good luck 👍
Not according to the law suits against Sig for the P320 ND while in a holster.
