Damn, I've been playing tf2 for more than a decade so I'm pretty confident to say that I'm a good Soldier main, but I've never realized how many things we need to react while playing. This type of video would probably sped up by a lot my development on the early days (not to mention that I can still pick up good calls watching it hahah). So glad to have this type of content being produced! Nice job dude.
Frisbee you are quickly becoming my Soldier GOAT. After watching a few vids and shorts I want to hop back on soldier, even played a few rounds as heavy after your videos on him aswell
Great video! It popped up in my recommended and Ive now subbed! Was wondering ifyou had thought about doing one of these vids for other game modes like Payload or KOTH since approaching situations in those modes is a lot different than in 5CP. Great video, keep pumping out quality content :3
I definitely can make one for payload in the future. I normally prefer to play 5cp when I play casual but I'll try to sneak over to some payload so I can make one
Its nice to see the insight on the why of actions as the how to play soldier guides are mostly mechanics and a litte bit of gamesense I got to 250 hours of soldier and got stuck on how to improve, now that i see yout decision making I can see some things I can improve Btw I also think you not having an unusual makes experienced players get cocky thinking you cannot airshot them
@@erubeydarkness glad to hear this is helping! I just posted a mobility guide for soldier that can help you improve your rocket jumping and I have a DM soldier guide in the making. My spartan helmet is an unusual but it’s not very noticeable and I keep the effect low so it doesn’t give me away when I’m hiding
i can't wait for you to say "I'm going to break it down for you guys" and then cut to you doing the kazotsky kick. anyway #4 WOOOO Edit: i got done watching the guide, then instantly got MVP for a contract because i used some of your strategy. thank you.
I'll definitely consider it. A lot of the advice I give in these breakdowns will also apply to comp. Playing inside these pockets, fading to make space, landing behind enemies is all stuff I learned from comp.
@@lllIIlllI When I refer to playing inside a pocket it's because I have heals that's sustaining a zone to play from. I focus on killing or atleast shooting at any enemies that break into that zone. Med packs can kind of act like a pocket because there's a zone that's providing heals. It all depend on what classes youre fighting but generally as an explosive class, playing where there are choke points so the enemy is funneled into a single small point is the best place to play from on defense. On offense, finding spaces that provide cover and force the enemy to turn around or have to retreat is adding a lot of value.

Do pockets only exist when you have a med? Or are there spaces that in general are good to play from?
