- This video sure took a while to get all the info on. Sorry if the audio for the script got kinda bad later on, I spent an hour recording this. I hope you all liked it though, and I hope Miitopia can make a comeback some day. The Tomodachi series has two handheld games and a mobile game, so Miitopia could always stand some sort of chance after the remake!

at the direct I was disapointed, not because it was miitopia, but because i thought It would be miitopia 2, it ended up being a remake, hope that miitopia 2 exists one day
The only reason why my brother and I knew about Tomodachi life and Miitopia back in 2017 was because of those free demo games that are gifted to you by the Eshop on the 3ds. I actually got introduced to a lot of the games I play now because of that function and that was probably the best kind of advertisement that Miitopia got. I was so happy when Miitopia got popular on the switch because now more people know about the gem that is Miitopia(and my friends won't give me strange looks when I try to explain it to them haha).
I forgot about gift demos, I missed out on mentioning that
I never really thought about it before, but I also don't really remember much of an advertising campaign for this game. I remember coming across it mostly from the demo being released on 3DS, which I absolutely adored, followed by the remake's makeup feature causing it to absolutely blow up on the internet for a few weeks. It only really got much attention that I can remember upon the remake coming out, which made me very happy.
Trust me, you're not alone. I, too, have never played Tomodachi Life, but I've played both versions of Miitopia.

Believe it or not, I actually have a physical cartridge myself. I picked it up at a local game store that sells used video games, and luckily Miitopia happened to be one of them.

But I remember coming across a demo review of miitopia and me being a sucker for anything mii related I loved it and asked my mom if I could pre order it and I don’t know how but she managed to get it early. Years later I still love this game to death, wish it got more attention but it was fun no matter what
I knew miitopia because I used to get the 3ds notifications and downloaded casting call, then the demo and finally, the game which is my favorite game of all time.
It's a top notch game, it only makes sense

I have played the hell out of Tomodachi Life. I remember watching LinandKo play through it and when a global release was announced, I was stoked.
For Miitopia, I heard of that game through a former friend, back when it was Japan-only. So when the Casting Call demo was released, I played it as much as I could until I got the full game a few months after release. So when the remaster was announced, I was stoked.
Got it Day 1 after all that. :P Funnily enough, I couldn't preorder the game by itself, but I could preorder the game and get a bonus of a pad of sticky notes! So I got that.

Imagine miitopia 2 was made and it was genuinely a whole new game with a different story line and with new and old jobs
And have 3x the interactions it had before so it wouldn’t become repetitive

This video is old but it reminds me thst me and my partner played through this game so much tbh. I think the funniest experience wase remaining now that we've done about 5 playthroughs total and the lore of each playthrough is insane. Like yeah this dark lord is actually a married couple who makes tv show like experiences meanwhile the great sage is evil lmao
Im gonna be honest here, when i looked at the game page in the nintendo store, the first thing i said was "FIFTY DOLLARS?"
So i can see where people are coming from, especially when theres games with over 100 hours for less, or even free games that can easily give you iver 200 hours at a minimum (guardian tales)
My sis had Miitopia on the 3DS, but back then, both it and Tomodachi Life didn't really interest me because a ton of my favorite characters weren't really human (or arguably even humanoid) so I couldn't make Miis out of them. This still kinda held true later for Tomodachi Life when I did get to play it; I only have, like, five characters in it and that's including myself and my sis as Miis, and have not touched it for a long while.
So when the Miitopia port was announced with the makeup tool, I was like "wait, I can actually play this now~!"- and right on cue, sis immediately decided she NEEDED to buy the port since she was a fan of the original already.
Now whenever someone asks me what my favorite Mii game is, Miitopia is at the top of that list, up there with other games that made great use of them but didn't have the Mii label (Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympics, Mario Kart Wii...), where Tomodachi Life I still kinda found uninteresting by comparison (it's funny sometimes but I never really found a will to go back to it).
Now if only save files were handled better I would most likely do another run of Miitopia. I am NOT getting a full NSO family plan for ONE game, even if it's one of the bests I've played. '^^

I found out about this game because I was in the tomodachi life game and one of the obnoxious people who are still begging for a sequal
the demo was the one thing that got me hooked on the game, I was younger and hurting for money (and hurting for some gender affirmation :3) so I was downloading demos left and right and miitopias demo really stuck out to me. I ended up getting my player character and a made up character to 99 friendship in just that demo. I then had to get that game and had a blast and its now one of my 2 comfort games

Im doing my 6th playthrough because my 100% save got corrupted, I guess because when I tried to play it wasn’t there idk if its just a bug or something but now im having to replay the game one part of me is kind of sad that I lost my save but the other part of me is kind of glad that I keep getting to play the game
I only found out about this game in 2021 when I went to my cousins house I got there at like 9/10pm and one of my cousins was doing the princess gorilla battle (with only pop stars) and over the next few days I played it up to where the friends get taken at the end of greenhorn then like a month or two later I bought it and jumped head first into the small fan base
So I found out my characters a warrior it loves goblin ham and food stats stay soooooo

I saw SLO play’s video on his Goku mii. And I have been a big mii maker fan for many years. So to find out that this existed got me to download the demo. And the demo was so fun that I bought the game. And I’ve finished it a total of 10 times at least. I was on a huge miitopia obsession for 2 years. But miitopia kinda gets boring after a while. The gameplay isn’t necessarily captivating. But hopefully this game won’t die. It’s amazing and I’d pay 60 bucks for it. It’s really good.

@@Cratfet Oh, good. Oh and if you’re wondering what channels it aired, I think I remember it airing on Cartoon Network. And I think I saw some “proud sponsor of Disney Channel” ad for the game in a channel that had a lot of 3DS and Wii U ads but alas is basically gone.
I had to buy the digital version of the 3ds version back when I first discovered it years ago, just because at the time there were barely any physical copies. (i think i got into miitopia like a year after it first released?)
