I like to think of the quizmaster and roaming gourmet as just straight up gods who have been watching over your party to see how much you've grown on your journey The quizmaster tests the knowledge of your mii, and the roaming gourmet give you special food to help you bwcome more powerful. Otherwise, how else have they veen able to end up in the most obscure places. Seriously, there's no way the quizmaster was able to enter the locked tower when we needed to find like 4 gem pieces to open it up lol.
my favourite miitopia headcanon is that the guardian spirit is actually "the god of well-placed inns", since only the player has access to inns (the only exception being when another character is journeying with the player), inns look basically the same regardless of where you are, and there are inns in places that are incredibly impractical (the dark lord's castle, otherworld). basically i just like the idea that this entity is a fairly weak god only capable of supportive magic
There’s also the fact that all your food, tickets, and teammates you didn’t bring out somehow teleport between inns, so if the Guardian Spirit has control over them, it makes sense how everything just magically appears in every inn you find
Unironically, i love the worldbuilding of miitopia. Especially the little lore drops in the grub descriptions. Like how the food some monsters drop is actually their favorite food. While other monsters are cooked and eaten in universe.
I like it in places but I also wish for more consistency in places lol. The lore seems perfect for exploring some form of romhack, since we know Miitopia cutscene modding, custom models, and even jobs are possible.
Headcanon: The inns the party stays at are actually one magic inn that flies to different locations to give the illusion of staying at multiple inns. It explains how all the party members you don’t use can stay at the inn, but still reunite with the guys you use, when the level ends. It also explains how every inn has the exact same layout and appearance, as they’re all the same inn. Now, the game mentions how the sky world inns use clouds to fill the pillows, but it’s possible that whoever stays behind uses the location’s resources to improve the quality of life at the inn.
Theory: The deity of well-placed inns was so chuffed at the compliments they received in the first ‘level’, that they made it so that there was an inn everywhere the party needed it.
A fun headcanon I have is that there actually is a deity of well placed inns, or a god of hospitality, and that god commands their followers to build inns to house adventurers on their quests.
I’m pretty sure that Dominic is not a monster and is just an actual dragon. I mean, in the opening cutscene we see that the rock moths are just normal large butterflies, so I think the same logic applies. Also cause when you save Dominic he says that he’s been asleep, implying that he was a normal dragon before having a face put on him. This also would imply that a face could theoretically be put on the horse to make it become a boss too
The genie is way older than the dark lord because when you save him he says that dark lords back then never stole faces and it wouldn’t make sense for the dark lord that’s present now to not do that so this implies the existence of another dark lord/ dark curse
That was probably just a joke of the "kids these days" kind of joke, rather than actual lore, but I guess most of this video was just taking jokes seriously anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter
About inns providing food: what about the "chapter" ending scene where the whole party has a banquet at the inn? You don't lose any money on it, and you're clearly in a different room than the ones you sleep. Furthermore, there's also the outings; you can go to places like libraries and farms, and I don't see them being mentioned in the video. There's even a café with employees at the counter. I myself haven't gone toooo far into the game, so there's stuff I'll be missing, but from what I've seen, there's that
The outing places seem fairly normal, for the most part, but its true that theres meals at certain points in the game. I think its just in either the central room or dining room though, but i guess i forgot since it was a pretty small thing that wasnt in 3ds version. The foods like guitar pick nachos that are shown are pretty late game, so its certainly interesting how they got there. I think miis can also pull food out of nowhere when camping, so idk
Fun facts: A dialogue between party members show that Elves canonically have trouble sleeping due to their overly large ears. Which implies that nights may or may not be pretty hectic around the Elven Retreat. Another conversation implies that scientists receive fundings from the government for their research. (Though this may have also just been a joke made by one of the miis) Another conversation shows that thieves despite their occupation name, have do desire to steal from other miis (that's Laid-Back's job after all). It gets more strange when you think about how theft became an official job listing in the first place. In the background of the Otherworld, glasses can be seen among the rest of the stolen face parts with implies that simply just glasses in Miitopia are able to make things such as rocks, snowmen, or even tomatoes come to life should they be conveniently put on them. Nimbus and New Lumos engage in occasional commerce. Sterile Plants 1.0 and 2.0 are both robots factories, Aging Robots can be seen Sterlile plant 1.0 presumably to be stored as an outdated product, while the Brand-New Robots fresh for marketing can be seen in New Lumos (presumably via shipment) . This is also evident by the obscurely seen Sinister plant north of Nimbus that produces Retroputers and both versions of it and also be seen in New Lumos as well. The Nimbus area intro theme also heard in New Lumos may be a form of advertising.
Something you didn't talk about was how, at one point while at Lotus Lake, the Eldest Fab Fairy asks if you think she'll be kicked out of the Fab Fairies for letting the Dark Lord invade, implying that Fab Fairy status is an elected position.
Maybe not an elected position, rather I think they are just a group who decided to rule together. However, they are also sisters, allegedly, so I don't see how she could really get "kicked out" of a sisterhood. (I guess that could just be a name but it's still a little silly.)
Relating to inns, I thought you were gonna cover the "deity of well-placed inns" because it'd be a good explanation for inns inside of active volcanoes, mansions, castles, space, ect. Though there's not much to really say about it because it's just one line
Finally. This was the video I've been waiting for. Miitopia is SUCH an interesting game Lore-wise. such as the stuff with The Dark Curse or how the Ex-Dark Lord used to work in a Banana Factory. The Lore of this game is surprisingly deep and I love that.
I have a theory. Since the amulet can't give all jobs on its own, what if some jobs aren't available to you, but still work with the same mechanics. Like, the quizmaster gains mp by quizzing other people, or the photographer takes photos that he can use later in battle. Also, I think the gourmet might just be a famous person who spends his money on food like the king does.

Quizmaster: Provides extra MP to the party with brainteasers, has pitiful damage (spends mp to boost the mp of the other members) Photographer: Learns attacks with mp and can use them for no mp (think scroll user mages) amiibo Fan: Calls upon scanned amiibo to attack (like skylanders but amiibo) Gourmet: Fights with the power of delicacies (like chef but uses Enemy Foods to attack)

Another potential explanation of the monsters having money is that the coin used for currency in Miitopia is actually just a byproduct of the monsters. Like, they actually generate the money themselves, rather than it being mined and minted, and the destroying of monsters is actually leading to massive inflatio-*shot*
i assume the guardian spirit gives you the ability to change jobs at will, while other travelers actually need to study or whatever to become these jobs. it also makes sense why the charms for elf and vampire exist, since otherwise these jobs would probably be given from birth. my real question is where we go during all the outings? are all these very unique looking buildings hidden somewhere in one of the towns we know, or someplace else in the world? it's especially weird when you remember that different types of outings are unlocked throughout the game. is there some town that we just can't access without outings that has all these buildings? is that why we need a ticket? because you can't do much in the town without one? are the tickets only for tourists? because you can't even go shopping without one. are there even people living in this town? is this where all the thousands of faces are coming from? what is going on??????? *i'm going insane typing this*
I think the funniest thing but also the most confusing , is that LITERAL GOD comes out of a random family amulet and decides to help you by giving you all the knowledge and strenght to be what you want just for reputation . Like , why this family ? Do they have a connection with god ? I mean they had the GOD amulet ? Who put the elf amulet in that chest , who had it ? How does the salt work they have so much power , like , it's SALT . is it god powered salt ? Are there more type of salt we never heard of ? I think some people take years to learn to get a job (like scientist , cook , singer...) .Some might be born with this job they can't get out of (like the elf or the theif).And some might get it growing up because they got trainings (like the feline or the tanks..). I want to talk about the tank , i mean it's a literal tank , how ? A mii fusioned with a tank ? Is it just a costume ? But how a costume can be that powerful ? It's just so weird , it's a tank , or a mii ? What if it comes from Nimbus ? It would make more sense since nimbus is the land of robots and machines . But there is also the warrior to talk to . HOW can the warrior revive someone with a SLAP ? A SLAP . I get that the warrior is pretty strong , that's what warriors are , but it doesn't make sense . The flower for exemple has the power of nature , i get that but what does the warrior has to revive someone like that ? The warrior is not really close to be a healer even if it can change the mood of someone with the same slap but revive someone ? The warrior gets to revive someone something that the mage doesn't even have , maybe it comes from the fact it's determined to win it's fight and ready to REVIVE someone to finish it . Or maybe the slap is a prayer to revive the character , but it doesn't make a lot of sense .
Salt? Do you mean sprinkles? (Are they named differently in other versions?) Also, how does theif end up being one your born to be? Elf makes sense, since it's a species of creature, but being a theif would probably count as closer to an actual job/skill than something like tanks, who were mentioned in the video that they have dialog confirming that they are, in fact, robots, who drink oil. (But they still also eat grub and snacks?)
Just like the game, Miitopia has some wacky lore that if you think too hard on will make you question reality itself. Here’s a few I came up with. Know you bring some of these up in the video but I’m just spitballing. Was the Dark Lord’s castle already there or was it built during the events of the game? If the former then does that mean there use to be a kingdom of some sort in Karkaton? What happened to the people then? Were they driven out due to the volcanic activity? I do definitely think there’s some higher power like a government controlling Miitopia, mainly because of the Travelers’ Hub. I just don’t see any reason the three major towns would have built it. Maybe other travelers built it but it’s so big and in the center of Miitopia which would’ve definitely causes distress. Which makes me question something…was our MC not able to get a job prior to getting the Antique Charm? We see other travelers with jobs like Tank, Chef, Warrior, Cat, etc. that most likely have never come across the charm. Did they train for those jobs, and the Amulet basically just allowed us to skip those steps? How do you train to be a Cat? Vampire makes a bit more sense we’d need a charm for but not the others. For the Elven Charm are we committing cultural appropriation or are we like…becoming an elf? It’s referred to as a “job” but the Fab Fairies clearly are actual Elves. Is our Horse the only horse in Miitopia? In certain outing events like the Ranch Snoozing event we see multiples of animals do exist, but to my knowledge we never see anything horse. Is there stuff beyond Miitopia or is it just that? We do see glimpses of other islands in the form of the Galados Isle and New Lumos which are clearly not part of the main continent of Miitopia but is there more? And most importantly…why is there an Inn in my house!?!?
I'm late, but I have a theory that all the people who have jobs only started having them right after the amulet's blessing, including Quizmaster, Letter Guy, amiibo Fan, Photographer, and Gourmet (not sure about the Fab Faeries though). I also have a theory that when you get a job, it "comes" with its own mindset. That is to say that you don't have to learn how to have a great mindset for your class, you simply have it up front WHEN you become apart of it.
When the switch port came out and the tower of despair was added I was wondering “what foul being could be the secret final boss?!?!” When I saw that it was the boss Snurp I was like “ah yes, that makes perfect sense actually”. 23:05 in tomodachi life, when 2 miis have a child and the child grows up, there is an option to send the child travelling to other islands. since I'm pretty sure this game is based on one of the small minigames at the amusement park in tomodachi life (tomodachi quest i think?), it could be theorised that the character we play as is from an island from tomodachi life that's my headcannon anyway😅
A fun theory I created: Hermes is actually the “Deity of Well-Placed Inns.” In Greek mythology, Hermes is the god of travelers and speed, and is placing those inns for the party.
And the fact that Medusa and Minotaurs and Cerberus exist in Miitopia too… hinting there are Greek Gods and Goddesses in Miitopia… so you have a good theory :3
Wait wait a dialogue of the mage job states that they applied for the mage job somehow... would that explain the travelers who has jobs from the travelers' hub? How did they get powers? Did they have their own charm or something?
Mages seem like they have to study, so maybe theres a magic school in miitopia? Theres magic that the witch can do, which might be unrelated to jobs entirely, so i guess it can just be learned?
awesome video !!! i love miitopia and the potentially wild lore it has so this was a joy to watch while obviously not at all canon, my personal headcanons involve the worried mother in greenhorne was a former royal for the kingdom, which is why she has the amulet (the guardian spirit in it could’ve protected greenhorne from chaos, which gave it its reputation as a calm and “boring” place). another silly headcanon of mine is that the quizmaster actually works for the dark lord/darker lord, tasked to hinder the hero’s journey with arbitrary and trivial (pun intended) questions and games. awesome watch ^_^
That amulet headcanon is cool. I’ll give my own in return. I like to believe that the amulet is capable of protecting the wearer from face stealing. That’s why the Dark Lord never steals your face even when he’s directly in front of you like in Realm of the Fey. This also lines up with the amulet previous owner, as the mother never gets her face stolen either. -And then the boss fight throws a wrench in that-
Perhaps , like in real life and has many examples , she's an illegitimate descendent from one of the previous kings , and usually in real life many got titles and wealth , so perhaps she got the amulet from there
I just thought of something , the reason for the inns inside the castle and sky scraper are for the monster bosses like the amour and painting, and theyre vacant due to being defeated
The game seems to take place in medieval times but there’s several modern and futuristic things like hotdogs, scientists, sci-fi stuff, etc. in the game there’s an enemy called the “Ancient Robot” so that could imply it takes place in like a post-apocalypse after a sci-fi future adventure time style
for the inns, I think they are closer to churches, when the mii says "Thank the god of convieniently placed inns!" I believe them as there are a bunch of inns in perfect condition all around the place no matter the weather or human population, the miis also clean the inn despite it being spotless, this could be a form of worship. The inns magically gain a stable and extra room for guests too when they are needed, not to mention they are completely free. Now obviously nintendo probably never thought of this, but that means we can make our own lore out of the little pieces within the game. for the monsters with gold, I think the gold belongs to the faces, You are stealing gold from randos pockets but I'd value my face over some gold. But if it is the monster's gold and the richest war-heroes on the monster's side go out to live in New Lumos until you attack, maybe that's why you can't buy meat, the monsters and miis may have gotten along until the dark lord used faces to take away the free will of monsters to force them to attack like Dominic the Dragon, maybe its considered sorta like cannibalism also if monster food makes you more powerful and more wealthy monsters are stronger, do monsters purchase food that makes them stronger? and then its the second-hand effect from eating it? (Like a plant gaining energy from the sun, a human purchasing that plant to eat it for energy and a then wolf eating the human for energy. the monster is the human and the mii is tne wolf, the plant is the unknown food) But yeah like, can a goblin purchase a lunchbox that turns him into a mage goblin?
Honestly, the question I always had about miitopia is why the warrior’s dark eye slash has the symbol that’s on the dark curse’s necklace form appear, is that just a general symbol for facial magic in this world?
now that i think about it, the great sage probably helped us defeat the dark lord because they knew that the curse could take them over if they did it themself

Miitopia is one of my favorite games and I love coming up with little headcanons for it (I actually ran a dnd campaign based around it for some friends who haven’t played the original game lol), I think the question as to how the cat class and regular cats exist is sort of how in some fantasy settings there are regular cats along with a more sentient cat race (although these guys are more comparable to nekos than something like Tabaxi in dnd or the khajiit in Skyrim), like they can talk to cats, have cat like behavior, etc. What are the ethics of there being a cat folk race and also a regular cat race of “lesser intelligence?” …Dunno 🤷♀️

My headcanon is that the dark lord/dark emperor from find mii 2 and miitopia are the same. He firstly created monsters but tôt defeated by warriors. When returning, he made the monsters more powerful thanks to faces and himself by possessing someone (ex dark lord and great sage). I just like the idea of mii games being connected.

If so, why is the face stealing a new thing, did they just not do that before? Was it a different Dark Lord??? In what way were they trustable
I see a ton of headcanons in the comments, so I have another one for the bunch. New Lumos being named that way implies there was a city simply named Lumos in Miitopia. Considering you only ever see monsters in New Lumos, and also the fact the Darker Lord sent them there because they couldn't control them properly (as stated by the Ex-Dark Lord upon entering), I don't think its too far-fetched to believe whatever Lumos was like was rebuilt from the ground up by the monsters, and that's what became New Lumos. I personally portray Dark Lord and Darker Lord being used interchangeably after the Great Sage was taken over by the Curse, so I feel like that gives the monsters sent there plenty of time before the game starts to take over (assuming that's how they claimed Lumos as their territory) Lumos, and rebuild it into New Lumos. Also the joke about the Princess job being the cheat code to being a trans girl in Miitopia made me realize that assuming all that is true, becoming a Princess is like a universal cheat code for a ton of stuff. (Very funny bit btw, huge fan of it)
The big question here is if the Japanese name also means new, idk what it is though or if it's different. Good points though, also guardian spirit princess transition all the way
@@Cratfet Just checked, and according to the Wiki, New Lumos is just called 'Neon City' in Japanese, but who knows, Miitopia's lore generally feels intentionally perfectly vague enough so you can fill in the gaps yourself while still making the story fairly coherent.

I think the main character gets the power to change other peoples jobs to what they want, or to let people be what they want. Hence the guardian saying the power is being what you want to be
You know the way the friends fall out with a cutscene is not good they yell at eachother for not being careful i wish they actually fell out in a normal way
The Monsters having HP bananas but never using them may have something to do with the fact that they're made in a factory as per the former Dark Lord. For all we know they might not even be real bananas. A lot of the non-human enemies may not be able to eat them without getting sick since they'd be being manufactured for human consumption. As for the humanoid or intelligent monsters that can't, they likely just choose not to or don't care for the taste if they're living out in the wilderness like that. The Banana Mii Trap and the UFOs probably just steal them form us because they can see they have value to the Miis and do it to mess with them

The outing places seem fairly normal, for the most part, but its true that theres meals at certain points in the game. I think its just in either the central room or dining room though, but i guess i forgot since it was a pretty small thing that wasnt in 3ds version. The foods like guitar pick nachos that are shown are pretty late game, so its certainly interesting how they got there. I think miis can also pull food out of nowhere when camping, so idk
Fun facts:
A dialogue between party members show that Elves canonically have trouble sleeping due to their overly large ears. Which implies that nights may or may not be pretty hectic around the Elven Retreat.
Another conversation implies that scientists receive fundings from the government for their research. (Though this may have also just been a joke made by one of the miis)
Another conversation shows that thieves despite their occupation name, have do desire to steal from other miis (that's Laid-Back's job after all). It gets more strange when you think about how theft became an official job listing in the first place.
In the background of the Otherworld, glasses can be seen among the rest of the stolen face parts with implies that simply just glasses in Miitopia are able to make things such as rocks, snowmen, or even tomatoes come to life should they be conveniently put on them.
Nimbus and New Lumos engage in occasional commerce. Sterile Plants 1.0 and 2.0 are both robots factories, Aging Robots can be seen Sterlile plant 1.0 presumably to be stored as an outdated product, while the Brand-New Robots fresh for marketing can be seen in New Lumos (presumably via shipment) . This is also evident by the obscurely seen Sinister plant north of Nimbus that produces Retroputers and both versions of it and also be seen in New Lumos as well. The Nimbus area intro theme also heard in New Lumos may be a form of advertising.

Something you didn't talk about was how, at one point while at Lotus Lake, the Eldest Fab Fairy asks if you think she'll be kicked out of the Fab Fairies for letting the Dark Lord invade, implying that Fab Fairy status is an elected position.
Maybe not an elected position, rather I think they are just a group who decided to rule together.
However, they are also sisters, allegedly, so I don't see how she could really get "kicked out" of a sisterhood.
(I guess that could just be a name but it's still a little silly.)
Relating to inns, I thought you were gonna cover the "deity of well-placed inns" because it'd be a good explanation for inns inside of active volcanoes, mansions, castles, space, ect. Though there's not much to really say about it because it's just one line

Finally. This was the video I've been waiting for. Miitopia is SUCH an interesting game Lore-wise. such as the stuff with The Dark Curse or how the Ex-Dark Lord used to work in a Banana Factory. The Lore of this game is surprisingly deep and I love that.
I have a theory. Since the amulet can't give all jobs on its own, what if some jobs aren't available to you, but still work with the same mechanics. Like, the quizmaster gains mp by quizzing other people, or the photographer takes photos that he can use later in battle. Also, I think the gourmet might just be a famous person who spends his money on food like the king does.

Another potential explanation of the monsters having money is that the coin used for currency in Miitopia is actually just a byproduct of the monsters. Like, they actually generate the money themselves, rather than it being mined and minted, and the destroying of monsters is actually leading to massive inflatio-*shot*

i assume the guardian spirit gives you the ability to change jobs at will, while other travelers actually need to study or whatever to become these jobs. it also makes sense why the charms for elf and vampire exist, since otherwise these jobs would probably be given from birth.
my real question is where we go during all the outings? are all these very unique looking buildings hidden somewhere in one of the towns we know, or someplace else in the world? it's especially weird when you remember that different types of outings are unlocked throughout the game.
is there some town that we just can't access without outings that has all these buildings? is that why we need a ticket? because you can't do much in the town without one? are the tickets only for tourists? because you can't even go shopping without one. are there even people living in this town? is this where all the thousands of faces are coming from? what is going on???????

I think the funniest thing but also the most confusing , is that LITERAL GOD comes out of a random family amulet and decides to help you by giving you all the knowledge and strenght to be what you want just for reputation . Like , why this family ? Do they have a connection with god ? I mean they had the GOD amulet ? Who put the elf amulet in that chest , who had it ? How does the salt work they have so much power , like , it's SALT . is it god powered salt ? Are there more type of salt we never heard of ? I think some people take years to learn to get a job (like scientist , cook , singer...) .Some might be born with this job they can't get out of (like the elf or the theif).And some might get it growing up because they got trainings (like the feline or the tanks..). I want to talk about the tank , i mean it's a literal tank , how ? A mii fusioned with a tank ? Is it just a costume ? But how a costume can be that powerful ? It's just so weird , it's a tank , or a mii ? What if it comes from Nimbus ? It would make more sense since nimbus is the land of robots and machines . But there is also the warrior to talk to . HOW can the warrior revive someone with a SLAP ? A SLAP . I get that the warrior is pretty strong , that's what warriors are , but it doesn't make sense . The flower for exemple has the power of nature , i get that but what does the warrior has to revive someone like that ? The warrior is not really close to be a healer even if it can change the mood of someone with the same slap but revive someone ? The warrior gets to revive someone something that the mage doesn't even have , maybe it comes from the fact it's determined to win it's fight and ready to REVIVE someone to finish it . Or maybe the slap is a prayer to revive the character , but it doesn't make a lot of sense .

Also, how does theif end up being one your born to be? Elf makes sense, since it's a species of creature, but being a theif would probably count as closer to an actual job/skill than something like tanks, who were mentioned in the video that they have dialog confirming that they are, in fact, robots, who drink oil. (But they still also eat grub and snacks?)
Just like the game, Miitopia has some wacky lore that if you think too hard on will make you question reality itself. Here’s a few I came up with. Know you bring some of these up in the video but I’m just spitballing.
Was the Dark Lord’s castle already there or was it built during the events of the game? If the former then does that mean there use to be a kingdom of some sort in Karkaton? What happened to the people then? Were they driven out due to the volcanic activity?
I do definitely think there’s some higher power like a government controlling Miitopia, mainly because of the Travelers’ Hub. I just don’t see any reason the three major towns would have built it. Maybe other travelers built it but it’s so big and in the center of Miitopia which would’ve definitely causes distress.
Which makes me question something…was our MC not able to get a job prior to getting the Antique Charm? We see other travelers with jobs like Tank, Chef, Warrior, Cat, etc. that most likely have never come across the charm. Did they train for those jobs, and the Amulet basically just allowed us to skip those steps? How do you train to be a Cat? Vampire makes a bit more sense we’d need a charm for but not the others.
For the Elven Charm are we committing cultural appropriation or are we like…becoming an elf? It’s referred to as a “job” but the Fab Fairies clearly are actual Elves.
Is our Horse the only horse in Miitopia? In certain outing events like the Ranch Snoozing event we see multiples of animals do exist, but to my knowledge we never see anything horse.
Is there stuff beyond Miitopia or is it just that? We do see glimpses of other islands in the form of the Galados Isle and New Lumos which are clearly not part of the main continent of Miitopia but is there more?
And most importantly…why is there an Inn in my house!?!?
I'm late, but I have a theory that all the people who have jobs only started having them right after the amulet's blessing, including Quizmaster, Letter Guy, amiibo Fan, Photographer, and Gourmet (not sure about the Fab Faeries though). I also have a theory that when you get a job, it "comes" with its own mindset. That is to say that you don't have to learn how to have a great mindset for your class, you simply have it up front WHEN you become apart of it.
When the switch port came out and the tower of despair was added I was wondering “what foul being could be the secret final boss?!?!”

A fun theory I created:
Hermes is actually the “Deity of Well-Placed Inns.” In Greek mythology, Hermes is the god of travelers and speed, and is placing those inns for the party.
And the fact that Medusa and Minotaurs and Cerberus exist in Miitopia too… hinting there are Greek Gods and Goddesses in Miitopia… so you have a good theory :3

while obviously not at all canon, my personal headcanons involve the worried mother in greenhorne was a former royal for the kingdom, which is why she has the amulet (the guardian spirit in it could’ve protected greenhorne from chaos, which gave it its reputation as a calm and “boring” place). another silly headcanon of mine is that the quizmaster actually works for the dark lord/darker lord, tasked to hinder the hero’s journey with arbitrary and trivial (pun intended) questions and games. awesome watch ^_^
That amulet headcanon is cool. I’ll give my own in return. I like to believe that the amulet is capable of protecting the wearer from face stealing. That’s why the Dark Lord never steals your face even when he’s directly in front of you like in Realm of the Fey. This also lines up with the amulet previous owner, as the mother never gets her face stolen either.

Perhaps , like in real life and has many examples , she's an illegitimate descendent from one of the previous kings , and usually in real life many got titles and wealth , so perhaps she got the amulet from there
I just thought of something , the reason for the inns inside the castle and sky scraper are for the monster bosses like the amour and painting, and theyre vacant due to being defeated
The game seems to take place in medieval times but there’s several modern and futuristic things like hotdogs, scientists, sci-fi stuff, etc. in the game there’s an enemy called the “Ancient Robot” so that could imply it takes place in like a post-apocalypse after a sci-fi future adventure time style
There's also an enemy named the brand new robot
for the inns, I think they are closer to churches, when the mii says "Thank the god of convieniently placed inns!" I believe them as there are a bunch of inns in perfect condition all around the place no matter the weather or human population, the miis also clean the inn despite it being spotless, this could be a form of worship. The inns magically gain a stable and extra room for guests too when they are needed, not to mention they are completely free.
Now obviously nintendo probably never thought of this, but that means we can make our own lore out of the little pieces within the game.
for the monsters with gold, I think the gold belongs to the faces, You are stealing gold from randos pockets but I'd value my face over some gold. But if it is the monster's gold and the richest war-heroes on the monster's side go out to live in New Lumos until you attack, maybe that's why you can't buy meat, the monsters and miis may have gotten along until the dark lord used faces to take away the free will of monsters to force them to attack like Dominic the Dragon, maybe its considered sorta like cannibalism
also if monster food makes you more powerful and more wealthy monsters are stronger, do monsters purchase food that makes them stronger? and then its the second-hand effect from eating it? (Like a plant gaining energy from the sun, a human purchasing that plant to eat it for energy and a then wolf eating the human for energy. the monster is the human and the mii is tne wolf, the plant is the unknown food)
But yeah like, can a goblin purchase a lunchbox that turns him into a mage goblin?

Honestly, the question I always had about miitopia is why the warrior’s dark eye slash has the symbol that’s on the dark curse’s necklace form appear, is that just a general symbol for facial magic in this world?

I was waiting for someone to make a video on this! Miitopia is one of my favorite games and I love coming up with little headcanons for it (I actually ran a dnd campaign based around it for some friends who haven’t played the original game lol), I think the question as to how the cat class and regular cats exist is sort of how in some fantasy settings there are regular cats along with a more sentient cat race (although these guys are more comparable to nekos than something like Tabaxi in dnd or the khajiit in Skyrim), like they can talk to cats, have cat like behavior, etc. What are the ethics of there being a cat folk race and also a regular cat race of “lesser intelligence?” …Dunno 🤷♀️

The short tangent about daddy long legs reminded me of how, when I was a kid, I would write short stories about my mom’s childhood, and I called the series “Mommy Little Legs”.
My headcanon is that the dark lord/dark emperor from find mii 2 and miitopia are the same.
He firstly created monsters but tôt defeated by warriors.
When returning, he made the monsters more powerful thanks to faces and himself by possessing someone (ex dark lord and great sage).
I just like the idea of mii games being connected.

I see a ton of headcanons in the comments, so I have another one for the bunch.
New Lumos being named that way implies there was a city simply named Lumos in Miitopia. Considering you only ever see monsters in New Lumos, and also the fact the Darker Lord sent them there because they couldn't control them properly (as stated by the Ex-Dark Lord upon entering), I don't think its too far-fetched to believe whatever Lumos was like was rebuilt from the ground up by the monsters, and that's what became New Lumos. I personally portray Dark Lord and Darker Lord being used interchangeably after the Great Sage was taken over by the Curse, so I feel like that gives the monsters sent there plenty of time before the game starts to take over (assuming that's how they claimed Lumos as their territory) Lumos, and rebuild it into New Lumos.
Also the joke about the Princess job being the cheat code to being a trans girl in Miitopia made me realize that assuming all that is true, becoming a Princess is like a universal cheat code for a ton of stuff. (Very funny bit btw, huge fan of it)
The big question here is if the Japanese name also means new, idk what it is though or if it's different. Good points though, also guardian spirit princess transition all the way
@@Cratfet Just checked, and according to the Wiki, New Lumos is just called 'Neon City' in Japanese, but who knows, Miitopia's lore generally feels intentionally perfectly vague enough so you can fill in the gaps yourself while still making the story fairly coherent.

I think the main character gets the power to change other peoples jobs to what they want, or to let people be what they want. Hence the guardian saying the power is being what you want to be

The Monsters having HP bananas but never using them may have something to do with the fact that they're made in a factory as per the former Dark Lord. For all we know they might not even be real bananas. A lot of the non-human enemies may not be able to eat them without getting sick since they'd be being manufactured for human consumption. As for the humanoid or intelligent monsters that can't, they likely just choose not to or don't care for the taste if they're living out in the wilderness like that. The Banana Mii Trap and the UFOs probably just steal them form us because they can see they have value to the Miis and do it to mess with them
