  • Today on the channel, we put TAC System SEAL through the Apex Detail Review Process! Seal is a water-based multipurpose protective dressing. SEAL leaves a satin finish to surfaces and is designed to protect and renew plastic, rubber seals, leather, tire, trim and engine bay plastics. Surfaces treated with SEAL will require less cleaning over time and will retain that new look.
    TAC System Seal....
    Use Code apexdetailyt19
SEAL restores the appearance of surfaces with a high grade UV and hydrophobic protection. SEAL reduces the rate of the material and surfaces oxidizing and leaves a satin gloss finish after applied. SEAL helps to prevent leather from cracking and premature wearing from dirt and stains. SEAL is non-greasy, non-alcoholic, and solvent free solution!

Solution finish is a stain or restorer, you dress it and protect it after you apply it. This other product is a sealer protectant not a restorer, it may restore plastic not severely faded for a few weeks or months before you need to re apply it.

How does Tac compare to Solution Finish? I’ve got a Wrangler I use SF on and it lasts anywhere from 8-12 months. I know I’ll have different results due to weather and how many washes I do but just wandering if you’ve noticed Tac lasting longer than SF.

Well, how to keep this brief.... so call protectants are mainly water, glycol (antifreeze) and sand (silica). To make this combo work requires emulsification. Silica is holds mid level UV reflective values and is harmless. The emulsifier(s) and the glycol are the bad bits!
Glycol is used to maintain hydration or keep the surface wet. That old tire or faded trim look great when it rains... right? That's what protectants do...Temporary hydration of the substrate. Glycol is also neurotoxin SO bad idea on interiors. The emulsifier(s) will eventually breakdown any surface especially when it remains active due to the hydrating effect of the glycol.

There aren't many things more aesthetically pleasing than a perfectly uniform vinyl trim that just looks clean! I don't mean the artificially shiny look that appear as though it got dunked in sewing machine oil. There are a ton of products that will do that. Until the first wash (or sooner!). And I haven't come across many products that I didn't love, from TacSystems. So it isn't much of a surprise to me. Moonlight is absolutely fantastic! Another great Tac product!!!!

I am a System X ceramic coatings certified installer and I requested that my rep reach out to Pan to see if he would be interested in doing a review on System X coatings, he said absolutely but the price is $1500. I no longer watch Pans content as it no longer feels genuine and honest.

Excellent! Tell me, was the Moonlight buffed afterwards? Do you think this would work OK using APC, CarPro Perl then Moonlight?

I did not buff. It does a grat gob self leveling on textured plastics. Not sure if Perl will play will with Moonlight.

What’s the moonlight durability like as it’s stacked and not on the plastic directly?

Can I use an apc or degreaser to clean the plastics? And what dilution ratio do you suggest?
