We wish!! That would be awesome!
I have a new baby at home, so we are not travelling much in the next little bit. But this is definitely a goal I would like to work towards!

I think my favorite play of the month was Dice Miner. We picked it up this month and it’s just crazy fun!

I’ve seen it around quite a bit! I heard some mixed reviews early on that made me not look into it more. I’ll have to give it another shot!

Fun video as usual. My favorite game of the month: Ark Nova (my first play). Dorfromantik came in a close second.

Ahhhh Dorfromantik. That looks promising for sure. Tim Basel made it sound like it wasn’t really a game. But people seem to love it! I am definitely interested :)

@@PunchboardParty Because you continue to unlock new elements, your score trends upward, and there is no win condition, I can understand the "not a game" feel. But it is a fun challenge to do as best as you can, while feeling a little zen like "A Gentle Rain".

Despite the fact that my game completely fell apart on me, I still loved Dogs of War and will play it anytime. Also, I thought that when I was out of town you guys had played Unearthed, not Earth. I am filled with jealousy. Make sure it gets back to the table soon!

I will certainly try and get Earth to your table and now that I know I will also always bring Dogs of War over!

Nusfjord - I haven’t played it, but it sounds like one I’ll really like. I pre-ordered the upcoming “big box”, which is a crazy good price considering it comes with the existing expansions and two new ones.
Red Cathedral - Great game. I’m impressed with how much game they fit in such a small box. I have the expansion but haven’t had a chance to try it yet.
Carnegie - We really enjoyed all our plays, but I’m not sure it will have staying power. I find the game less fun the better you get at the game, especially at 2 players. Once you realize that the only thing that matters is how strong your turn is relative to the other player (not how strong the turn is), the game ends up being a lot of weaker turns, and neither player accomplishes as much (assuming players are playing to win). For example: the other player just took an action to move their workers, but I wasn’t able to move as many as them, so next turn I just move again. I get only a small benefit moving my last few workers, but the other player gets no benefit at all, because they’ve already moved all their workers. Often weak moves like this are the strongest move in terms of benefit to you vs. benefit to the opponent.
Earth - I can understand the Ark Nova/Terraforming Mars comparison in terms of the literal description of the games, but in terms of how they play and feel, I don’t see much similarity at all. I would say Earth is most like Wingspan, although a bit heavier (build a card tableau engine where choosing an action triggers multiple other effects, choose one of four actions each turn, small number of resources that you convert between, competing for objectives with other players, theme). We love Earth, and it may have killed Wingspan for us, but we need more plays to be sure.
Legacy of Yu - Love it. I've started my second campaign with all three "increased difficulty" promo rules added in, which I very much don't recommend doing, haha. Lost the first 3 in a row, all felt unbeatable, and barely squeezed out a win on the 4th.

Interesting reflections on Carnegie! We are not at that point yet, but that sounds about right!
I think both Fr. Greg and I are tempted to throw all games with huge decks that synergize cards together in the same pile haha I think there are real differences, but also major similarities in how the cards interact.

Medici or Ra? Which has the edge.

It’s hard. I need to play Medici again!
